Breadwallet on an Android phone (needs Marshmallow or Nougat OS) is most secure because it uses protected hardware storage.

Go with Electrum for Android. ThomasV has done a pretty neat job when creating Electrum for Android. It has a lot of features just like the PC version. It is protected with a seed like in the PC version and with a PIN instead of the password since it is in your phone. I strongly advise you as you are already saying yourself to use the same wallet even in your phone. Since I installed it on my phone a J7 Prime from Samsung I deleted all other wallet apps including Breadwallet as I don't want to have a security pattern in my phone, thing that is forced when you are using Breadwallet.

I used Mycelium wallet for android and I never faced any issues since I used this wallet. And it's secured as I thought you can visit its own board on this forum here. You can sign message there to proved that those address belongs to you.

Bread wallet is one of the good wallet i just test it few days ago but i am satisfied with mycelium wallet which is more easy to use than bread wallet..
Like other said bread wallet is annoying to use because of asking password when using it..
Check this comparison.

Is there any project going on with the goal of making storage and use of several cryptocurrencies easy and understandable for the average end consumer?

Without the need for several wallets, pass phrases etc. IMO this would help to fuel the broader usage of all cryptocurrencies.

Are you referring to ARM TurstZone? Do you know how the keys are being provisioned there?

People must know also that coinsph is exclusively good for Philippine people only because it has huge benefits to all people live here, since I'm from PH. But you can use this site/exchange/wallet to send and receive btc, and I guess there's no tx fee if you send from coinsph to coinsph user. But there's no feature on that site, to access your private keys, and can't signed message.

I use the android coinomi wallet application, easy to use for users who do not understand the world of technology. You can also sign your own wallet. So if you later lose your bitcointalk account, you can make coinomi as proof that your account has been signed by yourself using coinomi application, because in it already have your own sign.

so far, I use mycelium, jaxx, and electrum and it is work best for me although maybe in out there, there is another wallet that might give the best service. I don't have any problem with that wallet and until now, I can manage the wallet and I see the dev release many updates to make the wallet secure for their customer. besides that, the fee for the wallet can be arranged so we can choose the fee as we want.

Never tested yet breadwallet but for me i still trusted to use mycelium if i wanted to use wallet in my android phone..
Your phone will be always safe as your phone never root because its decrease your security of your phone and possibility the can monitor or getting the hide files of your wallet.
Install antivirus can help protect your phone from any malware and viruses..
as of now never experience any problemwith my phone and always updating my ESET antivirus because i can set the security into quarantine if it detected  some suspicious apps in my phone..
The good thing you can easily understand how mycelium work and you can backup your 12 word phrase.

Coinbase isn't a wallet. It's an app to interact with the exchange.

I have used quite a few mentioned here (Mycelium, Breadwallet, Blockchain). I personally recommend Copay. They have a very simple to use interface and are great for new users.

Mycelium is also good for more advanced users as it has more functionality. Breadwallet is ok too. I found Blockchain annoying as I had to have network connectivity to see my balance etc. This was frustrating if I was on a plane (or somewhere without network connectivity) and wanted to double check the size of a recent transaction or my current balance.

blockchain.info is not the best choice in terms of security
its a web based application
and its transaction fee calculator is screwy
I have several transactions with a suggested "normal" fee pending for more than a month now
without mempool dropping them too

Out of all of the Android wallets that have been proposed here, which ones support SegWit? According to the official site, the only one on here that has already deployed SegWit compatibility is Electrum, and I am not even sure if the Android version is updated with it either. Furthermore, Electrum does not have the best of reviews down at Google Play. I am also not sure when the last time the compatibility list got updated was, so it is possible some on here besides Electrum do actually support it. I also cannot find any wallets with good ratings on Google Play.

Coinbase is the best android wallet we can used, I also used mycelium. Those wallet are possible to used in android phone, but coinbase can also used as online wallet and the mycelium can used as offline. Both of this different purposes especially when we used it.

I have two wallets in my android mobile. Coinbase and Electrum wallets. Segwit adds more value to Electrum and supports ERC-20 tokens. So Electrum seemed best. So secured and protected with seed phrases. If you are looking for less transaction fees and quick transactions, best use Electrum in your android mobile. Coinbase is one of the best wallets though it supports only four altcoins. Set up 2FA authentication factor to avoid issues in future.

i think mycelium is one of the best.
it is very fast and it allows you to manually set the transaction fees as you wish.
plus you are in control of the private keys and you can restore them from the backup if something happens to your phone.
also coinbase is not a wallet it is an exchange. they hold your private keys and they control your coins. if they get hacked you can not recover your wallet.

I find Coinbase and Electrum wallets are secured in android mobiles as I use these wallets.  Other wallets must be more secured but as I do use these wallets I can confirm on these wallets.  I use Electrum for Segwit address and Coinbase for normal bitcoin address. Electrum charges less transaction fees compared to Coinbase as Electrum is Segwit upgraded. Coinbase will soon upgrade Segwit. Work is going on behind. So these two wallets can be used I would suggest.

But coinbase wallet is easy to hack if you don't have 2 Factor Authentication because it is easy to hack your e-mail and reset your passwords. So I never recommend coinbase as secured wallet but I am also using coinbase for my signature campaign rewards and I never faced any problems while sending and receiving so in that case coinbase is good. And Electrum wallet also good for android so we can use that for cheap and secured transaction. The other option is blockchain.info wallet is also best and fee is less when compared to coinbase wallet.

Is it truly can store erc20 tokens? If yes, then I will try it and test if it is suitable and best for me than web wallets. I usually use my android phone than using a computer. That is why I need an android wallet app to store my coins I got from bounties and airdrops. Thanks for this mate

I am always looking for a wallet that uses 2FA system, the security is very secure because someone who can find and open the wallet that I have is a person who knows about the smartphone we have or other tools connected to the 2FA system. Actually, I also use coinbase for my android wallet, and so far I'm comfortable using it.

Coinbase is not recommended because you don't have control over your private keys unlike other wallet like mycelium or electrum mobile they let you access the private keys and you can export them to transfer to any supported wallet unlike coinbase they don't have a backup option so if the website is gone or shutdown then you don't have a chance to recover your wallet.

Hi. From your experience guys which wallet is good for android phone?  with which wallet i can backup bitcoin private keys offline, without being connected to internet?
Electrum (https://electrum.org/#download) has an Android version (but it is a bit feature limited compared to desktop version, does the basics OK).

Mycelium (https://wallet.mycelium.com/) is a pretty decent wallet... although the developers have previously made some questionable choices (intrusive ads, promoting "dubious" Russian ICOs, broken promises, Mycelium ICO disaster etc)

Samourai (https://samouraiwallet.com/) is an up and coming wallet (although technically still in "Alpha" test)

All of those wallets use "seed mnemonics" (aka "12 words") to enable you to create offline backups of private keys. If none of those look any good for what you want, you can always try looking at the other options here: https://bitcoin.org/en/wallets/mobile/android/

I also use Electrum in a smartphone also and agree that it is a basic version
of the desktop option but works as it should and is simple.

I have also got Coinomi installed but have only used it for LTC and ETC, no
issues with it and no ads.

Is anyone using the Breadwallet as suggested earlier in the thread? This from
their app data.

BRD is the easy and secure bitcoin wallet, the best way to get started with bitcoin. Our simple, streamlined design is easy for beginners, yet powerful enough for experienced users.

Easy: Get started in seconds! No registration or signups required. Have a question? BRD’s robust help center is always a single tap away.

I tried Breadwallet once... it refused to work with "custom" keyboards... and also with "rooted" phones, citing "security" issues. :-\

It also seemed to drain a lot of battery and data, so I stopped using it altogether and just went with Mycelium. It may be better now, I haven't tried it in quite a while.

Medishares or MDS is a ERC20 token it's not a mobile wallet for Android and their official website doesn't work to me.

Exodus is not safe as you think even I don't have any experience about this wallet there are many users said that this wallet is not safe that is why until now I don't use the wallet.

If you want to use a crypto wallet with multiple altcoins and bitcoin Coinomi for me is the best for mobile

Breadwallet on an Android phone (needs Marshmallow or Nougat OS) is most secure because it uses protected hardware storage.

I used it a while back, find it rather clunky. UI is displeasing, takes minutes to sync the wallets — they raised millions in ICO iirc, meanwhile there are wallets which were made freely from scratch and still work better.

I use Atomic Wallet for both my Android phone and Windows computer. Atomic Wallet supports more than 300 cryptocurrencies. It's a non-custodial wallet. You have full control of your keys. It's secure and anonymous. For BTC transactions, you have the option to adjust the fees if you want to make it cheaper or a faster transaction.

As far as I know, there is currently no Android version of Wasabi (https://wasabiwallet.io/#download). So it's a bit less relevant to suggest Wasabi wallet in the thread about Bitcoin Wallet for Android.

I'm looking for my first Android wallet (I should say first wallet really). Husna QA, you very kindly directed me to Bitcoin.org to compare some wallets. I've seen a fair few suggested now, and I saw the thread for WalletScrutiny (very interesting reading and nice clean site). Bitcoin Wallet looked to be given a clean bill of health and I've seen people given it the thumbs up despite it maybe being basic? So I think that might be a good one to start with for me being new?

I don't intend to use it for anything but a small holder of Bitcoin as I do intend to get a hardware wallet to store it properly. Presumably the challenge will be to later find a wallet that handles more than just Bitcoin.

For a first time, newcomer to Bitcoin, would this be as good as any to start with?

Many thanks

If you are focus on storing Bitcoin, you can use the Blue Wallet Application on Android or iPhone (https://github.com/BlueWallet/BlueWallet). Blue wallet also supports lightning wallet, so you can use it to transact small amounts using bitcoin. Other features, Blue wallet, can also be connected to a hardware wallet that supports PSBT*: https://bluewallet.io/features/.
