Title: unconfirmed transaction on bitbargain
Post by: garyf22 on February 22, 2017, 01:41:30 PM
Ok I know I shouldnt be posting this and doing some reading but Ive little choice, Im going offshore later tonight and dont have the time unfortunately and Ive only just stumbled on this site.

I bought some bitcoins on bitbargain on monday night at 20/02/17   2221    0.27 bitcoins, the transaction went well and I transfered them in to the site wallet I wanted to put them in, Ive done this many times without issue in the past, the problem is they never arrived. Ive checked blockchhain and the transaction is unconfirmed. I didnt pay for a transaction fee, I would have but its the first time Ive came accorrs this so in future will.

My question is what will happen to the coins? Will they go to the site I tried to send them too or will they go back to bitbargain, my only worry is when Im offshore I wont be able to logon to either site to do anything.

I have all the addresses and transaction numbers, I dont know if I should put them up here.

Sure, address and tx id's are usefull... Never post your private keys or passwords to services, but a tx id and address can't be used to steal from you...

BTW: at the moment, to many transactions are broadcasted, causing a huge backlog. There isn't enough space in the blocks to include all broadcasted transactions, so at the moment, it's the transactions with the highest fee/byte of transaction data that get included in a block. I'm going out on a limb here, but i guess chances are pretty big that you didn't add 140 satoshi's/byte tx fee...

Hi is this what you need

Ive never noticed the fees box before, but thinking about it bitcoins are worth 3 times what they were last time I bought so with only so many bitcoins the system must be busy, hindsights a great thing.

50 satoshi's/byte fee :(

https://bitcoinfees.21.co/ recommends 180 satoshi's/byte at the time of writing...

I restarted my node, so your transaction was dropped from my mempool, however, at the bottom of the page, your options are listed:

Your transaction has a low transaction fee, so it will take longer to confirm.

You have a few options here. You can wait and hope it confirms, wait for the transaction to be "forgotten" by the network, or ask a miner to confirm it for you.

For the third option, you can contact the users Quickseller (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=358020) and macbook-air. (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=pm;sa=send;u=16114) You can also try using https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/ to "accelerate" your transaction.

Unfortunately because you do not control the private keys for the addresses being sent from in that transaction (they are bitbargain's keys), you can't do anything else like attempt a RBF transaction.

If you have access to the private keys on the receiving end, you can try a Child Pays For Parent transaction where you spend from your stuck transaction and pay a transaction fee which covers both the stuck transaction and the spending one.

Ok Ive contacted the two people you suggested, many thanks. I tried the accelerator and it said accelerator succeeded, I paid no fees?

I have access to pgp signed key for 18EaYkVRjGTGu7naK9Kc8XmdbZrNaCDsx4
