Title: A Bitcoin Business Directory For Bitcoin Entrepreneurs? Thoughts?
Post by: 1BitcoinMillionaire on February 26, 2017, 08:11:40 AM
Hi everyone,

I am thinking about building a website that is a hub for Bitcoin Businesses. Without going into a huge amount of detail I want to create a site like this but solely for the Bitcoin world - https://www.indiehackers.com

So I would list sites and try and interview the owners and get key information from them. Information like:
- When they started the business
- Why they started the business
- How much they are earning
- How big their team is
- Where they want the business to go
- How difficult it is to run

Does something like this already exist in the Bitcoin Space?

Personally I would love to see a site like this regardless if it makes money or not.

Just not sure how likely sites are willing to share this level of information with everyone.

Any thoughts?

- When they started the business
- Why they started the business
- How big their team is
- Where they want the business to go
Usually the answer to these questions is already provided on most websites.

So I would list sites and try and interview the owners and get key information from them. Information like:
- How much they are earning
- How difficult it is to run
These on the other hand is going to be tricky since not everyone is going to reveal the answers.

Does something like this already exist in the Bitcoin Space?
Yes, here's the list (there might be some more):

1. https://coinmap.org/welcome/
2. http://spendbitcoins.com/
3. http://usebitcoins.info/
4. http://bitcoin.travel/

Any thoughts?
Regardless of the fact that there's already similar websites, it would always be nice to have a new addition to those lines. Some websites don't have everything listed yet (tend to miss few businesses out there) so there's definitely room for one more.

In which way are you going to create a website? Will you use a template ( like https://www.templatemonster.com/wordpress-themes.php (https://www.templatemonster.com/wordpress-themes.php) ) or hire a freeelancer? I think your idea is great.

We already had a site called Bitbiz.io but it failed because the owner was too lazy to market it or to maintain it. I hope your site will do a better job than that idiot. If I can make a small suggestion, I would open this up to all Crypto currencies and not just to Bitcoin.

You will be looking for traffic to your site, and if you limit it to Bitcoin, you will restrict the traffic. ^smile^

So in other words something like the yellow pages for Bitcoin?
Who would you be targeting exactly? Would you include all businesses and services that accept BTC as a form of payment or wholly integrated BTC businesses only (market specific)?
I think that'll make a huge difference to both the amount of work needed and the type of site you'd be developing.

Did you study the market ? I'm sure couple of similar sites are already out there.

So I would list sites and try and interview the owners and get key information from them. Information like:

- How much they are earning
- How big their team is

I doubt they would share all that information with you.In the world of anonymity, revealing information is a curse.I can tell you that, even the most successful and trusted bitcoin business won't reveal their real identities. This business works on trust and confidentiality.

Does something like this already exist in the Bitcoin Space?
Not exactly but yes there are similar sites around.

Personally I would love to see a site like this regardless if it makes money or not.
Problem is,why would anyone invest their time giving out their information in public when they get absolutely nothing in return ?

Hello, i like you idea and the questions as well and i don't think anyone would mind to answer these questions. But you need to first present yourself and your website in a very legitimate way if u intend to pursue some big companies.

Also if you really want to put into effort i can suggest you that do some research on every company and come up with a business model what you think they are executing. Obviously this information is not something people give but it can be studied and this will add on a really good value to you website.

PM me if you want to talk on this aspect.
