Is now the time to buy altcoins or will they fall more before btc stops going up.

Many altcoins lose blood in recent weeks, especially some very legit and promising projects, like Stratis, XRP, GAME, the price will go up eventually, and people will panic buy those gems, so grab to buy now, and wait for huge pumps.

I think "altcoins" is too broad a question.

Well I think it is time to buy altcoins, but we must know about the altcoins which be bought,
the altcoins must has good fundamental it is mean make investments into altcoins
that has rutine updating from the developers, also find the coins that has big volume of transaction,
in my opinions the coin that has criteria is ETH.

There is still more date to waiting for the altcoin to get bearish trend again.
This is too early for you to buy your altcoin if you can get them all for more cheaper.

Not a good time as the price of bitcoin is rising now. When bitcoin's price is begin to fall, then you can buy some good altcoin.

What you said it true but no one can predict when BTC prices can fall. But if it falls then in a day more than $100 fall then one will miss the chance of buying at a lower price. So if one decided to buy any coin then start accumulating in small quantities then finally you will get a better average price.

Bitcoin is too strong at the moment so it is pulling a lot of the money that it could be used to pump altcoins so it could be the time to buy but only if you can find a worthwhile altcoin that is in the beginning stages.

Indeed. bitcoin is strong nowadays and it affects some altcoin very much.For the question that it is now the best time to buy? I would say that study the altcoins first. Those promising alcoins with solid backing from known company or community group that drop significantly is a good way to invest with. When the altcoin  market recovers,sure this coin will bounce back.Some altcoins is alrady mention above, be vigilant to spot a good one.

which altcoin? they are not all the same and they are not all moving the same.
for example all the altoins that are being traded with bitcoin and fiat will go down when bitcoin price is rising. but try looking at ETH market next time this happens you will see huge buy walls put there by whales to both get cheap coins and prevent the crash of the market.

then there are pump and dumps coins, these coins move up and down and don't care about anything in the world they just get pumped in a day and dumped the next back to the graveyard.

then there are coins like litecoin which have big news like segwit coming (http://litecoinblockhalf.com/segwit.php) and if it is activated, they will go to the moon again paying no attention to anything else in the world.

Its not wise to get out on bitcoin right now. Bitcoin's price is really high and still kicking. Its a sure profit than buying altcoins for trading. You should start buy some altcoins when the price of bitcoin is starting to crash. Bitcoin is more profitable than any altcoins in the market. Maybe should cut it to half and buy altcoins and leave the half to bitcoin to make it balanced.

i think its the time to buy altcoin but my advice, its better to make sure how much altcoin will be decrease, otherwise you only getting into deep with the price so you need to make backup and backup for the price. beside that, you need to select what altcoin that you want to buy, don't make wrong decision because there is many altcoin that could down more deep before its increase back like before. so you need determine the coins, make a range for the price, make an order buy and waiting to fill your order.

I strongly believe buying altcoins now is the best time because bitcoins will be expensive making it difficult to own and when that time comes altcoins will start to gain momentum. Don't buy dying alts!

Really depends on your goal I guess. If you go shot term than a BTC rally is most probably not in your favor.
But if you go long term and you invest in a coin that you researched well than this is as good as a time as any.

What do you mean by we. Do you own a alt coin or a partner in every single alt coin created .  :D Study the charts and come to a conclusion whether it is the best time to purchase the coins and with the price of bitcoin going high i would advice you to halt before coming to a conclusion on what the future holds in the bull run of bitcoin and then you can start purchasing.

Sometimes you have to take a chance and jump in when you expect the bitcoin rally to end soon so you are ahead of the altcoin price moves.

bitcoin price is always going up, it just stops from time to time to take a breath (become stable and have an accumulation phase) an then again it starts going up again. this is how a good coin with lots of adoption works.

if you want to buy an altcoin then you have to think why would that altcoin's price go up after you buy it? if you can find a proper answer to this question then you can make better investments and find the real answer to your question here too.

Buying earlier is much better rather than keep on waiting for those alt coins price to fall. It's quite hard to say if within the next days will be the right time to buy. But as a trader I do always believe that as early as today will always be the right time to buy. Progress will on the next days and you'll expect profit from it.

the real rule is buy when everyone sell and sell when everyone buy, now it's still not the time but we are near, when all the alt will fall even lower and the gpu minign will sell the majority fo their rig you can begin to buy very cheap altcoin, and wait for the next boom in the altcoin

not really! when everyone is selling it means price is falling and you should buy at the bottom not on the way down! and the same goes with you selling, you should sell on top and although selling while rising is acceptable but it is preferred to sell on top not as soon as price started rising. specially with altcoins that rise 10x !

and what you said about miners is wrong! they don't sell their rig just because price of a random alt fell! they switch to another shitcoin mining. why do you think the hashrate goes up and down like this?

You also need to see the open orders in the market, watch for large orders. If you see a large buy order, get ready for pump!  There's a whale looking for profit

There are so many altcoins in the market and it will take some time for bitcoin to break 1200 dollars. In the meantime, it is a good idea to look for cheap altcoins that were crushed when bitcoin was rallying for the past few months. Maybe XMR is a good coin to look at if the price drops further.

Yes indeed, Buying altcoins now is the best idea because the price of bitcoin already rise up and it makes the price of altcoins very cheap which is good for altcoin investors whose looking for long term investing that can make them a lot of profit but remember, just invest in altcoins that is stable (if you are looking for long term and much lesser risk of investment).

you don't know what is the bottom or everyone would be rich already, so you buy all the way down, the same when the price get a pump you buy all the way up, but what i said is the opposite, you dump when everyone feel greedy, but not at the beginnign of the pump you buy after the pump is set for a certain time

If a coin has a good development team and the price is stable, then it is good time to buy.

I believe it's now the time to buy litecoins. They have a good code and the currency is among the most popular. And now the price is quite low, ltc is not having the best times. With monero, on the other hand, the situation is opposite. From September till now the price is high and I guess we better wait till it becomes lower. Though I think monero with explode anyway. As for doge, perhaps it time to buy it, because the price is ridiculously low.

Does anyone have a prediction for ethereum based on the new business model going on? Basically a bunch of banks pooled together and made an alliance? Why was bitcoin not involved in that?

It is really a good time for us to buy bitcoin, but don't have much fund to buy it,lol.

The bank is not interested in bitcoin. I just think about the development of the blockchain to the another sector. It seems like more companies will try to hire ethereum to develop his blockchain system.

In my opinion, when someone wants to invest in altcoin, first, he should take a look to the website of the coin and looking for a real developement plan. Then he needs to join the community and try to understand what's going on.
An important thing is the roadmap. A dev-team whom abide by his roadmap is a trustworthy team and if the price is good (and stable), then, it is a good coin.

LTC and ETC are the coins you want to be accumulating at the moment. ETH, XMR. DASH are all way overvalued.

Altcoins are suffering a lot in past two weeks due to bitcoin rally.We couldnot say whether this condition would continue and altcoin price would go down more.So, its better to grab this opportunity and buy lot of our favourite coins as once bitcoin price becomes stable, altcoin prices would start rising.

Bitcoin current price is currently at the rate which is suitable to sell. so my advice to wait decline and buying. but bitcoin can not predict when it will decline and rose. they are urgent can buy today.

you haven't told us which altcoin yet.

but since you ask generally i tell you generally too. when you want to buy an altcoin you should look for the bottom. right now they are being dumped and bitcoin is unstoppable in its rise which means more altcoin dump in general which then means the bottom has not reached yet.

remember one thing though, pump and dumps happen randomly too which will defeat this rule above.

No, I don't think so as many altcoins seems increased in the last 24 hours, just go on and check the market price.
I can't recommend which one of those coins (too many and a lot of factors affected it) that may keep rising and has more investors, but since bitcoin price at higher level right now, it is the right time to purchase an altcoins that has good potential.

For me yes, now is the time. nothing too loose, and besides there are few altcoin which be said as legit and good like LTC, ETH, XMR, MAID, NEM and others that's has huge volume collected in bitcoin which can seen coinmarketcap.com

we can not say that it's time to buy nor it's not the time to buy, cryptocurrency are volatile and can change anytime, we just needs to be more cautious, sometimes when the BTC soaring, the altcoins go down, but still they are just temporary.

I think hold is a good solution, many new coins thus making market became confused. I think we should wait until the this year, I expect the year 2017 is the year that make the dead much altcoin because all competing to snatch the rest of the bitcoin discarded.

There are currently 2 altcoins I am invested in that I believe will go up in value on the long term, and there is 1 I will invest in.
The first 2 are GameCredits and EnergyCoin. The first has a proven team behind it and are steadily releasing new functionalities, and April/May will be interesting months.
EnergyCoin with start with a cool project this year and is relatively cheap to invest in.

The other project I will invest in is MobileGo, which has close ties to GameCredits. Both will profit from each other.

But as always, don't take the word of people who are already invested in coins themselves, do your own investigation and decide where you put your money.

But of course you have to inform yourself beforehand which coins, which specifications et cetera...

Every time is the time to buy so far you can afford it and ready to stand by the risk of whether its going to fall or rise. The issue is if you wait and say I wont buy now because you dont know what will happen the next minute or day, you will still blame yourself when that day comes so to why you didnt buy today. Its a risk and those who are ready to make money take those risks.

This way we will avoid to be engaged in scam coins that will be impossible to sell later. A good example of that was recently the Pascalcoin because only early buyers gained much money, but most late buyers are facing terrific losses.

Always trust your gut feeling so you know whether it is the right time to buy or not.
