There's no point in contacting ghash because the block was mined by BTCC, you can try to contact them to see if they'll refund you. Except for that, there's not a lot you can do :/ Atleast your tx got confirmed quickly LOL.

That's awful... You should contact the pool that mined that specific block: https://blockchain.info/block-index/1471964
https://blockchain.info/blocks/BTCC%20Pool

Not sure about the type, if they distribute the fees immediately among the users, nothing would be done even if the pool will cooperate. if they have their own hashpower they might have the funds - the question will be, are they willing to give it away -

EDIT:

I think this is the one, https://www.blocktrail.com/BTC/pool/btcc

I'm curious why this incident happened since most wallet these days give warming for unusual behavior such as send all bitcoin at once, see/export private key and obviously when transaction fee is very high.
However, you can try contact them at https://www.btcc.com/contact (https://www.btcc.com/contact). I'm sure you must tell the incident properly and sign the message with bitcoin address that you used in that transaction ::)

I think OP already Emailed them, However:

* OP is using blockchain.info, if you check the TX you would see it is relayed by them
* BC users can not sign messages with the address

familiar with the new interface, probably entered the 1 in BTC instead of USD

best of luck op, hope you get your funds back.

I am pretty sure that it's late to ask the Company for a refund because the transaction already has 82 confirmations. I hope that you get your money back with you attempting to get it back. It doesn't make any sense for the Company to have such a large transaction fee compared to the sender's output amount.
They should have it the math already set to subtract to just figure the max amount that could get sent for a certain amount that's under $500.00 in Bitcoin BTC.

Please post back of the results when you get it OP.

* BC users can not sign messages with the address

If BC doesn't support signing messages, you can always export the seed and import the addresses into another wallet such as Electrum in order to sign the message.

In most cases, the fee is distributed among the miners of the pool who mined the block.

I'm curious, exactly how did you end up creating this mistake? What wallet were you using?

I'm afraid to hear the answer, but still very curious to hear what they replied to you.

Unfortunately in these cases, the decentralized part of bitcoin does not provide any way to return the 1 BTC to you. Which is a very expensive lesson at this stage in bitcoin.

Did you get a warning message about the fee?

A sent transaction is a sent transaction.
Nobody will rewrite the blockchain for anybody.
After all it's bitcoin we are all dealing with, and not paypal.
I'm sorry, but  that one bitcoin is gone for good, there is 0% of hope of getting it back.
The sooner you realize that and learn to live with it, the sooner you will recover from it.

Quite expensive mistake. I feel sorry for that.

Can you share more details how this can happen? Which wallet you have used. Have you seen any warning message about high fee? I have never tried to set so high fee ( usually get warning when trying to send BTC with small fee). How about your negotiation with BTCpool. Any reply or statement? Are they going refund you?

This is sensitive but interesting topic, can happen to anybody.

Your transaction will get confirmation fast but to revise the fee charge I doubt for that. We have to be always be details when ever we are transactions with crypto currencies as the transactions are mostly anonymous and decentralized. Though I wish your money should be revise but this should be a lesson to all of us.

According to some people posting here OP was using the Blockchain wallet, which is particularly weird since I've got warnings from Blockchain on fees that are even slightly too high.  I'm not sure how OP managed to make this mistake, it's not too easy to do.

You can take a look  on this thread, worst is he make a transaction with 2.5 BTC fee https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1818791.0 but the issue was fixed already as he already refunded by Bitmain.

But this one OP never reply on this thread and I don't think that this problem is already settled, this is totally a big loss for the this fee.

I hope you get refunded similar to the other guy who also made a mistake with his transaction fee. Good for him bitmain refunded, otherwise he is still banging his head on the wall. Any update on this one? You are using blockchain wallet right? Why is there no warning that the transaction fee is high? I'm just curious. Let this be serve us all a lesson to be careful and make sure that we are sending the correct or right transaction fee otherwise we can't do anything about it.

I understand that you have contacted them for support but the likelihood of you receiving any form of compensation is very small. Reason being that so many miners will have been rewarded for your transaction that the company would need to pay you out of pocket which is a real inconvenience. Although I have seen many cases where the company does pay back thousands of dollars for a simple mistake, so I suggest you keep trying!

However, you must let this be a lesson for you in the future when using Bitcoin. The currency is so much more complicated than, say, an online FIAT store. The process of mining is not easy to understand and our Bitcoin addresses are not easily recognizable to our brains instantly. Therefore, because of its complex nature, I suggest you do intensive verifications before sending the transaction. I never send a payment without triple checking the address has been written correctly, the actual amount itself has been typed in and the fee is a reasonable amount (I never do the recommended amount, I like to go lower because I am a little cheap but you can have it anyway you'd like).

Be careful. There are too many of these cases arrising and newbies need to be informed about the risks of sending the wrong information on Bitcoin.

I really do hope you get refunded for your amount though. Good luck!

That was a huge amount of money that you do not want to lost, just charge to experience and be careful on the next transaction. Correct once the transaction was made theres no recovery of transaction. Just pray that they will email you back with positive feedback.
