Title: Posibility of a free bitcoin mixer
Post by: nanonymousx on March 02, 2017, 05:08:59 AM
I am wondering if we can have a network, each node is a person stake a few coins, and coins can be freely change ownership inside the network.
Kind of what Dash is doing. That way, if we stake bitcoin in the network for a few days, coins will become untraceable.

Any thoughts,

...

It does not even have to be free if the mixing fees were to be very low.  Of the mixers I have used, the lowest have been just above 0.5%, which is not bad at all.

For me to use such a hypothetical free mixer, I would need to be convinced that it was rock-solid (works reliably AND is pretty anonymous).  My experiences with bitmixer.io have shown me that their is rock-solid.

~snip~

Any thoughts,
That we call dash coin eh? then we need to change POW to POS, that is artificial mixing while BitMixer.io does this literally and naturally.
That is altcoin entirely designed to do the job of a mixing service while it doesn't have the name Bitcoin and doesn't have a market capital of $20B.
Look at bitcoin's adoption and altcoin's adoption rates, that is a costly free service you got there.

Well, you could simply deposit your bitcoins into an exchange like CoinsBank and leave it for a few hours there and withdraw later, It's not exactly 100% free, exchanges might have some fees but It's not that much and pretty good compared to the mixers that we have today.

If exchange being regulated, for example, Chinese based exchanges, prevent you from withdrawn if exceed some amount.
In US, if exchange issue a tax statement for bitcoin going out, then it will defeat the purpose of doing this.

I just want to point out one of the biggest fear in Bitcoin, Government can track you down, and we can do something.

Why do you need a mixer when you can use cryptonote and have mixing built in? Switch to the future of coins my man.

Are we talking about bitcoins here ?  ::)
Coins any freely change ownership in a network ? What does that imply ? I can technically control your coins ?Who'd have access to the network anyway ? I get the idea of coin mixing but World is too bad to do that as a favor.

Kind of what Dash is doing. That way, if we stake bitcoin in the network for a few days, coins will become untraceable.
And what gives us the guarantee that one's controlled coins won't be lost forever in the process ?

all bitcoin mixer service is want get profit in bussines
so if imposible is bitcoin mixer without fee and free service
if transaction altcoin DASH coin bitcoin and all cryptoin need sending fee, so is very imposible if bitcoin mixer service is free service without fee

You can have Alt coins with built in mixers, but you will get strong opposition from governments for that. Satoshi implemented pseudo-anonymity to protect your financial privacy from the average Joe, and possibly knew that 100% anonymity would not fly with most governments.

So Bitcoin gives you almost the same anonymity as you get with cash transactions. If you need more anonymity, you use Bitcoin mixers and you pay a little fee for that. ^smile^

Are you looking for a free Mixer or Open source mixer ?

Because you would have to pay at least for the transaction fees when the mixer move coins.

You could possibly design some kind of open source system which allowed you to do this, but then it creates issues with other nodes needing to follow through on their transactions in order for you to not run into trouble (and possibly even lose your Bitcoin). Plus, I personally wouldn't want to be involved in a system like this in case it later leads to legal accusations of assisting money laundering (what if it's you personally who laundered the money of a drug dealer or big-time criminal?).

Service of this nature can't be totally free unless you are serious about the anonymity service you are looking for? since the service fee is not high I don't think we should be thinking of a free Bitcoin mixer

Why people think mixing coins requires intensive coding? it's not about being open source or whatever, it's about whether you can trust a mixer with thousands of coins or not. they take your coins and give you some other coins to an address of your choice after fees deducted.
When it comes to mixing all that matters is trust nothing else really matters.

Almost nothing has changed on this issue during last year.

Today the use of almost all technologies for anonymisation of bitcoin and other non-anonymous currencies requires the participation of third parties. Even more frustrating is the fact that the allegedly private register must be managed by a certain Central authority which implies the need for a trusted third party to "mix" the transaction. And the reality is that it may take many years before both the mass use of systems that do not require trust and the anonymisation of bitcoin, by updating the blockchain itself or certain tools for anonymisation, become possible in the future.
Take advantage of the BestMixer.IO, it is not free, but the Service fee is one of the lowest. And if you apply the possible discounts, the Service fee may decrease to 0.25% of the amount that you want to anonymize.
As for trust, our position on this issue is described in the 'Contacts' section on our website https://bestmixer.io/en/contacts.
We are doing our best to guarantee services of cryptocurrency anonymization now and in the future no matter what.
