I'm unaware about the limits that Coinbase has and you didn't mention the payment method you are planning to use, I will however recommend trading with people on the currency exchange section as you don't need to provide any personal information's, there are big suppliers and no limits, fees are not that high so as long as you agree to use an escrow and meet their requirements, you should be fine otherwise I would also recommend using LocalBitcoins and meet with someone face to face.

Don't know where you live but you need to get approved at an exchange in your country that lets you sell bitcoin and withdraw cash to your bank account. ACH transfers take a few days to a week to hit your bank.

I am trying to buy one full Bitcoin to store as an investment, but with CoinBase's $300-per-week limit, this looks as if it will take a month or more and I'll end up paying way more as the price goes up.

So are there any other safe alternatives for buying Bitcoin? I've looked on eBay but they are charging way over actual value.

Thanks.

You better check the first the Currency Exchange board here before going to any exchange.

If you need to buy regularly then an exchange can be better, have you checked Kraken, LocalBitcoins ?

Everyone want to make a fast deal but bitcoin exchanges wants lots of verification unfortunately.

This is what is starting to frustrate me. Crypto is supposed to be fast and instant, so why does it take so damn long to purchase it? I could understand a few days, but when it gets into the weeks and months range things start getting ridiculous.

Just give Coinbase what they want to get verified for higher limits. If you do not like their AML/KYC requirements you just go elsewhere.

I'm using my PayPal card because my bank does not allow international transactions so I can't use my debit or bank account.

And I would definitely not be comfortable putting my payment methods on a message board site, especially when talking about amounts upwards of a few thousand dollars.

It's all up to you but there are only a few services that accepts PayPal and really have high fees, while trading with people here, you mostly choose the fees and wait until some PM you (someone should as long as the fees are nothing big) and you really don' t need to post anything on the thread, you will only give your email address to whoever you are going to trade with in P.M . You can also use PayPal.me and give the link to people but your name will be visible this time.

Coinbase have strict rules, and they stay with them for specific reasons - it is all about AML.
There is many exchanges where you can buy Bitcoin as safe as with Coinbase. (Bitstamp, Kraken, BTCe)
You can also use LocalBitcoins.
Anyway you must remember that every online service will never give you 100% of security, so always after transaction move your BTC to your offline wallet.

Paymium: no verification needed up to 2500$. Kraken: you just need to be verified tier2 wich doesn't need any document.
Both are good and fast to deal with

Trade somewhere else! Aside from countless Issues they're having right now(Security Issues), Coinbase is meddling scum.

Better off trading in good places like Paxful or anything equivalent.
