Title: ETH & Monero Desktop Wallets
Post by: PurpleDog on March 07, 2017, 08:03:42 AM
Are there good desktop wallets for ETH and Monero, that don't impose the download of the whole blockchain? What is your experience?

In my experience I use https://jaxx.io for ETH wallet, it can be used on  desktop version also can be used on smartphone, it is simple easy be used and doesn't impose the downloads of the whole blockchain, unfortunately I don't use monero wallet desktop version, I use exchangers wallet for monero because I just trade monero and not save for long time.

Thankyou for your suggestion. I was actually searching a wallet for monero coins that I have mined via minergate. Can anyone suggest a good online wallet for the same . I will download and have a look at the wallet what you have suggested.

For monero you have https://mymonero.com/#/  where you dont need to download whole blockchain.

Few days ago one guy suggested donations that he start working on some faster way to sync monero blockchain.  That means that with constant improvement, Monero GUI will be quite easy to sync and use.   Talking about GUI I think really soon we should see Monero Beta 2 GUI.

Does Exodus support Monero?

I haven't used it but as far as I can tell Monero isn't yet supported, though it is on their roadmap for 2017.

I would like to say that coinbase support ethereum but i recommend to you to make the trading sites become your altcoins wallet i use poloniex in many kinds of altcoins that i have and also you have a perks you can monitored the altcoins price and you can trade them directly if you wanted in the exchanger like what i do for investments.

Yes it is very true once, better keep altcoin in exchanger because if at any time altcoin price up then we can directly sell it, Without waiting for transaction time

.

I don't do this,I don't trust exchange and second I want to control my private key and wallet.dat these exchange can at anytime disable your account or you can lose your credentials and cannot login to your account I read that poloniex is disabling account check the scam site for reference.

I've tried Exodus, which has a great GUI, but you have no control on the physical location where both software and wallet files are stored. Which, to me, is a big security issue. So, I wouldn't recommend Exodus to anyone.

As I can see, there's no support of Monero.
Where do you have that information from?
