Title: 5870 quad miner max temp
Post by: xioros on June 17, 2011, 04:14:40 AM
Hi guys,

I just got my quad miner :)

And it's working after a whole lot of work ^^

4x 375 Mhs/s

But here is my question:
My cards run 89° on max fan speed :s

I can't clock down the momory lower than 900 Mhz on linux...

The core is @ 900 as well.

Any sugestions on getting my cards cooler / lower my memclock?
grtz

More fans! Run it in the basement! Or just lower the Core clocks! That is about all you can do, short of water cooling!

If you're not using a case, you might want to put a fan blowing across the cards, in the direction of the card's exhaust. When you don't have a case, the design of the card's cooling system isn't as effective. If you are using a case, think about adding more fans (if the case allows for it), or get a case with enough room and addition fan slots on the top and sides.
