Our goal is to create and deliver devices that aid in the mining (or "hashing") of digital currencies. Our first product is in the design phase. We will post pictures and stats as soon as our first prototype is completed. We are using some of the best resources available to design our products.We are not re-engineering boards built for other purposes. We are dedicated to creating Bitcoin and Litecoin mining hardware that is dependable and easy to use.

Why CoinHasher?

We started CoinHasher after our initial searches for mining products yielded unreliable results.  In the best case scenario, the hardware was overpriced.  At the other end of the spectrum, the vendors were sketchy.  Who wants to do business with companies like this?    The people at CoinHasher are working on products that is not only fast and efficient, but also consumes little power.

And it's not that we disparage GPU mining, but we in the United States happen to pay higher power bills than our friends in Canada.  We also understand that many power down their mining rigs during vacations for fear of fire.

We at CoinHasher are working on products that are not only fast and efficient, but also consumes little power. Our partners include members of the Altera Design Services network and the Xilinx Alliance Program.  

Lastly, we promise not to make any statements that we cannot backup.  We are going to offer up actual results, and whenever we do make projections, we'll at least stipulate as much by using the term "estimated" in front of the conclusion.

what is price range for your product and resulting hash rate

Do you have any WAG as to price?

Rough estimated hash rate on Bitcoin and Litecoin mining?

Could you flash the FPGA to mine one or the other?

Could you set up it up to monitor the price of BTC and LTC vs. USD or EUR and then mine whichever is more profitable based on the device's historical average hash rate?

as far as I know, asics can only handle the crypto they were made for, sha256 only in the case of the ones being released. But fpgas can be reprogrammed to scrypt or another crypto.

fpga has a lot more use than bitcoin....unlike asics...

Ill keep an eye on this, I still have a love of fpga's :D

Now, are you planning on making a fpga for bitcoin ? Seems like that would kinda be counter productive would it not?

We do not want to ball park this yet.  When we go to production we are looking at making these devices in large volumes.  This will allow us to price the units more competitively.  As soon as we have locked in our design for prototype one. We will post an estimated MSRP.

As for Hash Rates, we are not going to post this until after the prototype is completed and the firmware is optimized.

Will you be able to mine Bitcoin and Litecoin on the same device?  

We expect the answer to be yes.  We are looking at how to do this without the end user having to do a lot of work.

This is in the plans but not for prototype one.  This feature fits with our goals for prototype four.  We are not sure if this will be built into the device or if this will be a feature in a mining application.
Right now, we have Bitcoin and Litecoin devices listed.  It is probable that we will change this to Bitcoin Only or Bitcoin and Litecoin supported.  The Litecoin device has more parts so it cost more to make.

How many ASIC's can you order today and have tomorrow or next week for that matter?  Do not take that statement wrong.  We are looking forward to the ASIC devices hitting the market.  

FPGA's are still in the running though.  The major issues with FPGA devices have been availability, cost, and support.  Most people are buying FPGA dev boards to do FPGA mining.  This is not cost effective.

Now, the biggest reason.  An ASIC device will only mine one digital currency.  We are trying to make a single mining device that has the ability to mine more than one type of digital currency.

Making donation to a commercial company??? What a joke  :'(

However, I will keep an eye on your products

Asking for donations as a company does not shed a favorable light on your financial status.
Would like to see more info about the devices before making a decision.

We need more competition to BFL, as soon as they start shipping and people are actually mining with their rigs their prices will go up even more because they know people have no other viable option. thanks for your work and good luck.

We agree with you partially. This is a small company with funding from 3 people.  We are injecting our personal funds into CoinHasher in order to make this happen.  We are using senior resources on every facet of this venture.  Our partners services cost money and none of us are millionaires.  :-)

It is not your responsibility that we are not millionaires and honestly we will take the donation message down if it offends people.

Which company will you be using to do your prototype fpga engineering?

We are not ready to release that publicly yet.  We have a NDA in place with our main design partner and we are working on the details of an exclusive agreement for this product type.  Once this is done we will share more information about them.
 
We will tell you that they were recommended to us after we spoke with Altera directly.  They are also members of the Altera Design Services network and the Xilinx Alliance Program.  We researched some of the FPGA and ASIC products they have delivered to others in the past and they have good references.

Ok, just a curiosity anyway, if you end up needing one for Altera or Xilinx I can point you to a few companies we were in contact with over the past 6 months. A couple we vetted and they were legit and would be able to deliver a prototype in a reasonable time period as opposed to the usual 12-17 week window we found at most of them.
