Title: Paid for Orphan Block?? (P2Pool)
Post by: daemondazz on April 22, 2013, 01:19:58 AM
So in the last 12 hours, my p2pool log files show that 4 blocks were found:

232422
232452
232471
232473

Block 232452 does not show on the p2pool website on my node or any other that I've checked, which I figure means it was orphaned, but I received a generate payment of 0.04891343 for that block?

How's that possible?

Note, I'm not mining anything except for on my p2pool node.

to spend any generated coin it must receive 120 block confirmations.

Yes, I understand that, my question was why does that solved block not show up in the p2pool stats page but I've received a Generate transaction?

http://cryptominer.org/ does not show block 232452 in the recent list, which from my understanding means it was orphaned?

No it's definitely mainchain and a p2pool block, the disgusting coinbase leaves not doubt.
I assume your address is 1D3bbVUR7hmP3XprS7MjAELBw1bopz18G4

Blockchain.info doesn't even report any orphaned blocks near 232452.

Yeah, I'm just trying to work out why the block didn't appear in the p2pool node recent list, perhaps a bug in the p2pool software...

As per the message at https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=18313.msg1908259#msg1908259, it appears the share was orphaned from the p2pool chain but not the main bitcoin blockchain.
