New Calculator up with auto-updating difficulty. It will calculate your
  • Average time to find a block mining solo
  • Coins per day
  • Hardware break even in days
  • Power cost per day
  • Revenue per day
  • Revenue less power costs

Would you like to see any changes/improvements?
Just post em in this thread or drop me an email.
Let's make FeatherCoin the best coin, guys! :)

Edit:
I have added a new page with all sorts of blockchain info.
https://i.imgur.com/PUEu7A2.png (http://benhohner.com/feathercoin/statistics.php)
http://benhohner.com/feathercoin/statistics.php

You can now see:
  • Current Block
  • Current Difficulty
  • Expected Time to Find a Block
  • Estimated Network Hashrate
  • Estimated Time to Difficulty Retarget
  • Next Difficulty
  • Total Coins Mined

Edit:
Are you using IPv6? Please try the site and tell me if it's working.
I'm getting reports of some problems when browsing with IPv6.

Looks very nice.

Can you please add information similar to http://allchains.info/ ?

Like
- Blocks Left
- Est. Next Difficulty
- Retarget Distance

Looks great! Thanks for that!

Since you already have all the data: Would it be possible to add some charts?

Like Difficulty over time.
Or Hashrate over time.

Also nice to have would be number of transactions/day over time...

[EDIT] Where do you get the "Estimated Network Hashrate" from? http://fc.dontmine.me/accountdetails and https://featherpool.com/ show much higher hashrates.

Very nice work, a suggestion, if any new data is added, make it in a starkly contrasting color format, or a new page.

I think getting network hash over 1500 blocks is a bit too many. You might want to drop that number down significantly.

Very nice work....Just a heads up for your abbreviations you're using FTC where as everywhere else it is refered to as FC. not a huge deal but should probably change it

Next difficulty estimate calculation is broken it shows 36, but it's not true, next difficulty should be about 27.

Charts are a bit more complex as it requires the recording of history, and thus, a database.

Thanks! I'm planning on changing the colour scheme and organization to improve readability

What would you say is a good number? I can change it to calculate over the last n blocks but it'll take an extra API call. i.e. the page will load slightly slower.

Is the official format FC? I was using FTC because I was following the common practice of naming currencies with three letter abbreviations, e.g. USD, JPY, BTC, etc.

Next difficulty estimate calculation is broken it shows 36, but it's not true, next difficulty should be about 27.
That's because it's calculating from the last difficulty retarget and the hashrate has increased since then. I supposed it might be possible to use some calculus to find the instantaneous hashrate or something.

I would say a few hours is a better indicator.

I'm sure someone who knows statistical models can chime in with a better number.

I like the use of "twitter blue", if they spent many millions on branding, why not borrow their big bankster capital and leverage that against them, touche.

The FC or FTC issue must be resolved quickly, from a marketing standpoint. FTC says Federal Trade Commission, so I'm getting to love that, even though at first I was a bit cautious about it, why not steal their freakin' alphabets at the same time and compete in the SEO sphere with them as well.

FC ... well, it's kinda hardcore yeah, but ... it sets itself apart from the other atl coin having only TWO letters, so it can be brand.

I'm still partial to your observation that the most successful alt coin naming convention the "T" in the middle can be a boon as well. It's really up to the coin dev, but it needs to be resolved lest the efforts going into brand creation and marketing be damaged badly. Early brand strength is absolutely essentially.

Can't call it kokie and then change it to "Coke", it just doesn't work unless, you got a new bread slicer or mousetrap, and we are not that, we are in an extremely competitive new sphere, so branding from the get go, right out of the gate is crucial, especially the abbr.

The alt coin abbr goes on exchanges, docs, help files, tutorials, it goes everywhere, so this decision must be made firmly, and it must be made ... now.

Could you reapair your calculator? It shows:

Quote
Current Difficulty   27.497

Quote
Expected Time per Block   0 day(s), 0 hour(s), 2 min, 46 sec

Above is propably right, so if time for solving a block is 2min 46sec, (it's more than 2min 30sec, which is target block solving time) that means difficulty is going DOWN, not up like it is shown in your calculator:

Quote
Next Difficulty   34.665613350126

Next difficulty = (2min 30sec)/(2min 46sec)*27.497
Next difficulty = 24.846

My bad. I was accidentally using 210 seconds instead of 160 (2.5 min)
Fixed now!
