Title: Is your job according to your dream as a child?
Post by: BCTBF on March 22, 2017, 02:00:08 PM
A little story: Since childhood I was often invited my father to watch soccer matches, it makes me anxious to becoming a soccer player when I grow up and it turns out I often suffered injury during the competition, in the end my dream as a child was not achieved. Then enter the vocational school I aspired to be a mechanic and repeated failures always haunt me. XD
Until now I've never felt the job according to my dream as a child, due to economic needs so whatever the job will I live. How about you?

In childhood, dreams of the future profession changed very often). Simply in childhood we do not ponder the pros or cons of a trade, and when we become older, we are interested in the profit that this profession will bring and the working conditions. I chose the profession of an engineer.

yes mindset of children are not like adults who can define the career and profit and loss. I think there are many people out there who have a job do not match what they dreamed about since childhood. XD

When I was a child I dreamed of being a pilot. Flying around in my plane taking people from here to there. Unfortunately my eyesight wasn't good enough so I gave that dream up. Now I just sit at a desk and code for this large company I work for. Far from flying the skies .. Oh well such as life.

As a young child I dreamt of being Superman; flying to the aid of beautiful women in trouble.  I read every Superman comic book I could get my hands on, watched every Superman episode I could on the television.  I would wear my superman shirt as often as it was clean enough (by my mother's standard as mine was not quite high enough it seems), only wear red track pants by day and red red pajama bottoms by night, took my Flintstone multivitamins daily and fought a never ending battle for truth, justice and the American way (even though I was not American at the time!).  So yeah, anyway, mission accomplished. Holler if you need me; I'll hear it.

He dreamed of becoming an architect, but on the advice of his parents he went to a doctor. I realized that this is not mine and now I work as a manager.

I was really amaze and greatful for all the teachers, so as a child I want to be one of them someday. Teaching people would be great , that was my opinion before when I was a child. But when I grow up, I don't want to teach people because I really don't have patience. Plus being a teacher is like being a student again, for me.
And now, that I am adult I want to become an accountant. I really do love Math.

No, in my childhood, I completely did not imagine my work. I thought I would be the driver of the car. But I grew up and learned to become a lawyer

No because I never saw myself working as a child, when I was a child all what I did like most children was play so I did not thought about such things.

Ever since, I prefer to be a pilot. theb when O grew up, I realized that I can't do that due to lack of interest and will. Currently, I change my dreams to be an engineer which I can say I can fit myslef. and this field I know is what I want though the step by step process is quite difficult.

I managed to make the things I dreamed about doing a reality. Unfortunately said dreams in reality turned out to be mainly a fucking nightmare. I'm not making that mistake again.

We in our childhood dreamed about what would be closer for our souls, and only some realized their dream, and the rest work only for the sake of the fact that the present work brings money to live. And now this is not a hobby for what you like, but with money.

When I was a kind my dream job is to be a nurse someday but when I saw a nurse took care a bloody person and nurse who assist a doctor to their operation I change my mind to become a nurse cause I know in myself I can't do it.
Although I didn't achieve that dream job I am happy now because I am pursuing a computer course.

My father was a Professor of medicine. As a child I wanted to become a surgeon and save people or animals, but became the owner of the cafe. Now this work takes all my free time and I'll never be a doctor. Maybe I'll regret this in the future, but for now I'm satisfied.

You can't possibly be a lawyer; I understand what you wrote.

When I was little I wanted to become a truck. Obviously that wasn't going to happen so I decided to become a paratrooper. I am now studying industrial engineering and working at a call center. In the end I decided it would be wise if I simply get rich, so I came here.

As a child I wanted to travel the world when I grow up. Just wander aimlessly and have adventures everywhere I go. Didn't realize I'd have to be unemployed in order to do that. Well now years later I have the unemployment part covered, so all that's left for me is to pack my stuff and catch the road. Meaning I'll actually be a professional hobo...which was not my childhood dream :D

To date, only my passion can be considered what I once dreamed of something in my childhood. I loved to be engaged in technology as a child, and today this opportunity I do not mean to earn on a favorite business. But I have the opportunity to work in another field, which brings me good money.

How I wish. LOL. My dream when i was a kid is too far from what i am right now. I dreamt of being a a doctor since i am good at science but i end up being a call center agent though english is my worst subject. Though its a good experience but i guess ill end up working as a call center for good because it has less stress and at the same time i can do my bitcoin anytime. And it has a good salary and i can give lot of time to my cycling and family as well. No stress after  work. I just need to believe that there will always better things that can happen in this world. And reach my dream in the future.

Yes .. when I was a child, I dreamed of being an agricultural engineer. Since I live in a village where the people still rely on agriculture and plantation as the main job, that's why I want to become an agricultural engineer.

It's never too late to do it. Very often, people around us destroy our childhood dreams, discouraging us from doing so because it is not a prestigious job and nothing good will come of it.
