Don't you think $300 is a bit overpriced for a brass coin?

Not when there is a mintage of 25 coins, price it up yourself.

The markup I am making on these is suprising low.

Edit - price typo so yes it was expensive  :o :o

At what mint are they being minted if you don't mind me asking?

They are 3D printed not minted so expensive to create, minting such a low edition is not really cost feasible when you factor in die creations etc.

Wouldn't 3D printing these coins allow for a less expensive coin???
I'm not sure I follow the logic here......

also there should be no die creation involved for 3D printing!

I have a friend who has a lot things 3D printed and they are not this expensive or anywhere close

but good luck with your sale

If I had to pay for some to create dies and press these coins they would cost hell of a lot more due to the high relief design

First I would like to thank the few above joining my thread just to take a shit in it.

Just to clear a few things up.

1) The design costs money
2) Holograms and cases costs money
3) 3D printing in metal and having them rhodium plated then gold plated then hand polished is not cheap
4) My time is not free

@ chronicsky, I did not say dies were created.  I said I got them 3D printed as high relief die costs for 25 coins would be a crazy price.  Ask you friend to create a similar design and work out the cost, you'll be suprised.  They are not done in plastic.

Didnt see any of you guys jumping up and down at the 14BTC 1000BTC Casascius copy coins circulating recently.

I wouldn't call asking normal questions 'taking a shit in it'. You are asking $300 for a 3D printed coin so it's not weird if people ask what you reasoning behind that price is right? I think most of the community is well aware of the costs so that's why I was asking about them.

The Casascius coins were not copies. They are original Casascius coins, made as a private request for Charlie Lee. I have my own thoughts about the premium people are paying for those coins but at least they are high quality and made from precious metals.....

The price is $230 not $300

Gold value roughly 1BTC - 13BTC premium......

you seem to be offended

They were just random questions and things i knew from my experience
But your reply shows your anger about it and that reveals alot which i won't say now....

Did not see they had hologram since it was so little between pictures
No one's time is free

and didn't knew they were metal printed

What do you mean by copy coins?
Are you saying the ones sold by coblee? You called them copy? if yes, i won't say a word on your thread from now on as it explains alot
if not that, then am unaware of any such copy coin that might be around.

Again, it was a simple question and experience info , if i wanted to hurt your sell would have done long ago with your sales...
Stop taking things so hardly, it seems you haven't even tasted how obnoxious ,paranoid and easy to jump people are here

But well again as i said

Good luck

Just a bit annoyed after several weeks development and waiting another few weeks for production and shipping people jump in to post opinions even though they have no interest in the coin.

Hologram has not been applied to coin picured yet.

The coblee coins were not producted by Casascius but a 3rd party, or did I get the wrong end of the stick on that one?
