Title: README files - what on earth are they?
Post by: PatMan on April 23, 2013, 12:31:32 AM
Hello miners,

I've been having terrible trouble configuring my miners lately, it's either one thing or another - I'm quite clueless. In between throwing various noob questions on various threads here and there I decided to investigate things a little and opened up my miner folder - wow, lots of stuff in there I don't understand at all. After changing my underwear I decided dig a little deeper, it was then I noticed a few strange looking files that I'd heard a few very clever brainy people saying have a look at. I looked at all three of them for quite some time, I thought one of them moved a bit but it's difficult to tell as I'm cross-eyed, but apart from that I didn't find them to be of any help at all - and my miners were still not working either! I was getting desperate and even more confused by the minute, so I decided to be really brave and daring - yup, I double clicked one of those strange looking README files and.......oh lordy, all hell broke loose I can tell you. I changed my underwear again. I then noticed that my screen had become filled with loads of letters, numbers, spaces & stuff, things were looking up, or so I thought. Nothing seemed to happen, no matter how long I looked at it all, maybe it was puzzle - so I then spent several hours joining up all the dots on the i's etc to see if that would make things a little clearer - but alas - I just filled up my screen with black zigzags which I can't wipe off. I decided to quit while I was miles behind, and closed the README file before anything untoward happened, phew! That was dangerous.

So, what's a README file for?

Also, can somebody tell me where I live? I forgot again.

Confused......... :P

almost died laughing.

anyone here remember when computers and the original cellphones came with manuals the size of a phone book? then they got smaller and then they quit including them at all. now companies assume people will just toss it anyways and contact customer care so someone can hold their hand as they press a button.

customer care rep - " careful sir, this combination of keys being pressed is very complicated, and im going to tell you a large number too...."
