Title: BetKing.io Relaunch - GET REWARDS - Multi-currency, Create your own app
Post by: BetKing.io on March 26, 2017, 01:06:05 AM
Preview 1:

Hi,
I've just uploaded the first public preview of the new site to a test environment where you can try it.
Here http://bkp1.azurewebsites.net/

This version is an initial "preview" of the dice game with multi-currency and "apps" support.

There are some features missing that you would expect like bot etc
These will be added asap as part of the "Preview 2" release.

Also you can see a sample app at http://bkp1sa.azurewebsites.net/ which allows you to login with your BetKing account and play.

Depositing:
Since this is just a test version there is no actual deposit or withdrawals.
You can fake a deposit by selecting your currency in the drop down of the main site, http://bkp1.azurewebsites.net/
and then using the same dropdown to choose "fake deposit", this will add 10
of whatever currency you chose. You can do this as many times as you like.
This has to be done on the main site, not the app.

Creating an app:
I've uploaded the app sample code to GitHub where you can use it to test creating your own app. Instructions in the readme.
https://github.com/BetKingIO/SampleApp
That also shows the roadmap of features to come in preview 2 for the sampple app
source code in the issues section.
You should be able to get it running on most hosts with no trouble but pm me if you need help.

Bug report/ feature requests:
If you find any bugs on the main site and have a GitHub account you can log
a bug here https://github.com/BetKingIO/BetKing-issue-tracker
That's where you will see current issues and planned features for the main site.
Please search the current issues to see if your bug has been reported already before submitting.
You can add bug reposrt/feature requests to sample app too.

If you don't have a GitHub account just pm me on btctalk and I'll log it.

Contribute:
If you are a javascript programmer you can submit pull requests for features or bug fixes to the sample app repository.
There's a list of issues marked with the Front-end label which should be able to be implemented without anything else being added to back end.
You can also submit code for features or fixes not on the issues list if you find something yourself.

Be great to hear your feedback.

Rewards
Anyone who tests will be rewarded on the new site when it is live with bug reporters getting a larger reward, especially for security issues.
Also anyone who contributes code, fixes or features or even tidying things up, will be rewarded when the site goes live :)

Reward system/value to be decided still.

Thanks

Dean

Welcome back, may now be more successful and with better features, so that users are more comfortable again in play

Sorry for being out of the loop with BetKing.io's story, but what was the reason they disappeared in the first place?
I always thought they were doing rather fine.

As for the new version, at the first glance, I think that bet history is too small for my taste (at least it looks small on my 24' full HD display).
I know you can manually enlarge fonts, but it's still minor inconvenience.

Good luck with the project.

Feels fun to be a high roller for once :D

Let me post my Feature Request here (I don't have a GitHub account): Will it be possible to view back all bets? It now shows 51 (any reason for this weird number?) last bets. It would (sometimes) be nice to be able to see all.

I got invitation to test the beta version but the deposit is not working for me even I refresh the page so many but it could not helpful for me to get the some deposit to make the rolls there. Maybe this is some kind of bug.

I posted about it in the old thread. I wanted a break to pursue other things. I didn't find much :)

Someone else has reported the fonts too small on big screen (I have a small screen) so that should be fixed soon.

Thanks

I'll be adding a find bet feature where you can look up all your bets made on the new site.
I won't include the old BetKing bets at the moment but may import old highroller bets as some sort of archived hall of fame.

Do you mean in the all bets list it only shows 51?
We used to show 100, 51 will be a bug as it was meant to be 50 :)

Hi
Can you describe what you did?
Did you register an account on http://bkp1.azurewebsites.net?
You would then need to click the drop down menu to select "fake deposit" (that button will be moved to a proper deposit button soon).
That should then update your balance.

Let me know if doing that still causes you any issues.

Thanks

I count 51, so it's a bug:

It took me a while to find the Fake Deposit yesterday too (after some booze though). Here it is:

Fixed issue where if you bet an amount > 0 on sample app when balance was 0 it never showed warning and bet buttons stayed disabled.

Same with deposit/withdrawal from app if balancs were 0, warning is shown now.

Dogecoin might be added. This is just a demo so I added some options just so users could see that it was multi-currency.
The final list of currencies added at launch has not been decided yet and may change.

Will you make API which will support other games or it will be only dice?
And what will be benefit if we decide to make our own app?
Previews looks nice better than old version  :D

The API will support other games and options.
For now though it's only dice as that's what we're going live with first.

If any app developers want to sugegst api features they might need to help make an app or new game that would be good.

Interesting to see the site adopting multi-currencies for payment processing especially with the transaction fees and delays in confirmation of Bitcoin becoming quite an issue. I also think Dogecoin should make the list and inclusion of an internal exchange would be a very good idea.

Update:
App sample code is now organised a bit different. It has unit and e2e testing support and produces smaller builds.

Also added currency icons next to bet and profit amounts. What do you think? http://bkp1sa.azurewebsites.net/

Tidy up some of the notifications too.

Now I need to sync the changes to sample app into the main site :)

I did not got that what do you by create your own app from the source code you provided on the github. Do you mean any person can create their own betting app using that code or it is only for creating an app on which we will be able to play only the games of betking. Please explain it to me.

The source code lets you create your own app that allows players to log in using their BetKing account and then they can bet on your app.
The app interacts with the BetKing api allowing you to setup a casino site and focus on design and promotion instead of raising funds for bankroll or securing player and investor deposits. We do that for you ;)

Will this run on your servers, say Loyce.BetKing.io ? This way a user knows it's a legit site.
Or can it be any domain name I choose, say LoycePoweredCasino.io, running on my own server ? This way any site can be a phishing site.

Good question.

It is intended to be both.

As you see Moneypot has this feature and allows anyone to make an app. They have over 1000 apps but only a handful of actual sites with any volume.

I will do things a little different.

Anyone can create an app on the test environment.

But to become a verified app that allows real betting you will need to pass some quality control.
We won't have 1000 untitled dice sites.

I will also be doing package style paid plans, say bronze, silver, gold.

Bronze would be free and you can host on your own domain.

If you upgrade you can have it hosted on our servers (either subdomain or unique domain), get 24/7 support, development help, custom theme, custom games etc etc.

These plans have not been finalised and we will only have the free plan for this launch but will move in this direction after.

This is an awesome idea Dean! I've long thought of learning more python to be able to develop a dice site of my own, that works on MoneyPot. However, the problem has been the fact that there already are over a thousand apps in MoneyPot. I've always liked the way you ran things on BetKing, and now I'm certain that I want to pursue with my site. Good luck with development!

That's a smart approach Dean.

We've been making the transition to filtering out the large number of apps and just focus on a stable for a while.

Hi
Not a week no. I was busy with other things most of this month so unfortunately have to push the release date forward.
Now the ETA is "sometime before end of April" :) but really just when it's ready. If you look at the site and github issues you'll see there's still a bit to do.

Also a lot of small improvements. There's been contributions to the sample app from scuni and unibtc.

Not had anyone else create apps yet. Be good to see more people trying so I can get feedback on what kind of api methods you need for your games.

You must be login to make a bet
Typo: Remove one word.

User stats tab
Shouldn't this update realtime when I place another Bet?

Without realizing it, I was playing "Free" instead of "Bitcoin" while looking at Stats. It's confusing:

Maybe you can use your own logo for "Free":

Yeah I had added the issue to the github list for update stats in real time.
Also the icon one :)
Could use the crown, good idea. That or name it BKCoin?

I'l fix that typo.

one of my favorite dice sites ever, the second one I registered at,heh

and what kind of promotions are you planning for the site's launch:signature campaign, deposit bonuses etc. ?

Small update.

Added bet shortcut buttons for 1/2, 2x, min, max.

Also when you make a bet the current tab chages to my bets.

(there are two small issues that need updated for these features but they are open on github and should be done soon ;))

Oh this is an amazing news, Betking was one of the biggest oldest most trustworthy websites out there, It would be amazing to get them back on the scene. I am sure they will gather a sizeable chunk of the market back from the newcomers, great for us gamblers, maybe not so great for casinos who will lose gamblers back to betking where they come from.

I'm so glad you re-develop the site in a very good test in this case, this would be the answer on your site to the Community that your site will go back and create a very convincing game for everyone to play on your site. Good luck and success in the future.

Thanks!

You can actually test playing now too.

Because it's a test site and I'm adding, changing things etc there's sometimes times where it is down or not working properly but if you check back later things should be ok.

Betting was off for a few hours there but all abck now.

Should have Preview 2 uploaded with latest features and fixes this week.
Would be great to have more feedback/testing and code contributions on our github page :)

this is a good solution for us to use the apps in our android phone because if we are not in our home, we still can playing gambling and we can use the apps with easy. the apps is look simple but its really interesting to try maybe later i will trying to download and use the apps. i think this will be a new idea that implemented for your sites and member can use the apps wherever they are and they don't have to just playing gambling in their home but in every place that they want.

Thanks guys!

Update:
I've uploaded the invest feature.
Fixed bets font sizes to be larger on larger screens. Feedback would be good on this.

For now the commission is set to quarter of the wagered amount as the previous BetKing had. This will change.

There's also a lot of new features and bug reports added to our github pages:
https://github.com/BetKingIO/SampleApp/issues
https://github.com/BetKingIO/BetKing-issue-tracker/issues

Please read through them before reporting a bug or requesting a feature.

Credit has been noted to the reportes too who posted here or pmd me.

Rewards
Anyone who tests will be rewarded on the new site when it is live with bug reporters getting a larger reward, especially for security issues.
Also anyone who contributes code, fixes or features or even tidying things up, will be rewarded when the site goes live :)

Reward system/value to be decided still.

For now the commission is set to quarter of the wagered amount as the previous BetKing had.
What does this mean?
Example 1: 1 Bitcoin is invested by A. 100 Bitcoin is wagered. You get 25% commission of 1% house edge of 100 Bitcoin (=0.25 Bitcoin for you), A gets whatever is left (positive or negative)?
Correct?

I don't understand the details yet. How does it keep track of my share of total invested and wagered?
Also "Risk 0.5" needs some explanation.
It's nice to be able to test investing with "fake" money BTW.

When I go to http://bkp1.azurewebsites.net/, I sometimes get this, for example when I click "Free":
https://s1.postimg.org/dvfp5qbzj/bug.png
You can see I'm logged on.
If I log off and on again it works. I can't figure out how to reproduce it with certainty.

Under Investments, layout scaling fails when the browser isn't wide enough.

Your example is correct. That's how the wagered commission worked on the old BetKing. We also took 25% of profit weekly too.
This will be changed though as I've developed a new commission system. Though it still works out to be effectively 50% commission.

I'll have a help page on with the investment details and how the calculations work like last time.

Not sure what your login issue is at the moment but will look in to it. Thanks.

Also will note the scaling issue.

I felt rich, so I invested 200 fake Bitcoins. The Divest button doesn't work though. It's called a Feature now on the tracker, not a bug, so I'm not sure if it's a bug or just not ready yet.

In the final version, will it still be possible to invest Free Coins? It's a nice way to see how investing works, please keep this option in.

I just tried to divest the fake bitcoin but i cant do that,
about the risk what is the highest risk for investment there ? since there is no option for the risk like 0.5x/1x/2x/10x/100x

Yeah as listed on the github issues page divest feature is not live yet.

The highest risk is 10. I will be adding a dropdown of choices in like the old site had.

Thanks

This is one of the worst approaches in UX. Just allow users to create their passwords freely.

I've had a few people mention this now.
I'm not sure what the problem is as it forces you to create a stronger password.

The amount of people that get their accounts hacked on gambling sites could have it prevented if they used a strong password.

Saying that though, I assumed sites like Bitfinex, Bitstamp and Polo all forced this rule but it turns out they don't.

Would like more feedback on this.

I guess the problem is remembering the password.

Quote

It's the trade-off between a strong password, and being able to remember it. The harder the password, the more chance people use the same password on different sites.

The obvious solution: a password manager. My typical password is something like TAIF Cop]k~)T7O'mL}2P"Ka-[NG{_mF]:r&?.

A user who's account gets compromised because of a bad password is likely to blame the site.

because many players are using password managers and if their settings are ,say "no special characters"
their passwords,as strong as they might be,will not be accepted
so  they would have to go and change the setting, delete the old generated password, generate a new one, change settings back etc. i.e. nuissance
also it doesn't really make your password stronger,it is mostly the length and the uniqness of the pass that matters: p@ssword1 will get accepted
but it is by no means a strong password

Undecided. Will mostly be in the form of reward points on the site. The greater the contribution the greater the rewards.

Hoping to have preview 2 finished this weekend.

Fixed some issues on the provably fair dialog.
That would have been an easy bug bounty, you couldn't set client seed so the game wasn't provably fair :)

Also changed a few things on backend that should speed thigns up a little.
Still not as fast as it could be yet as I've not moved to the proper server yet.

Working on divest and finishign chat now.

Greeting
I want to greet you all here, and wish you luck in the future work.
I wanted to start a similar project but due to lack of knowledge and time I had to give up, but I have some ideas that you may like.

I think the app package should not be free, but it costs say 10 or 15 BTC
I always thought it was better quality than quantity (proof is moneypot)
At this price, I think you getting a contractor who will be more serious than free entrepreneur, and therefore you can expected more efforts from them in marketing, promotion, dedication, etc.
With this BTC you can offer full service: Website development and installation, investments, the further development of the service ... with fewer but better quality sites/admin have a much less work, conversation, settings, eliminating the problem ....

Is it possible that the app players login or register without the need to make an registration on betking main site?
This is important because, I as a contractor want seemingly totally independent service, which can be customized for my local market
Profit also can share depending on the originally invested BTC in app
These are some of my ideas that I think can contribute
I can offer you right now as buyer : )

Hi
Thanks for your message.
That is exactly how we will do things as I mentioned in a previous post.
There will be different packages available, including a very basic free one all the way up to having own accounts and own bankroll.

Will post more details about that in future.

It allows global chatroom for all apps but also app specific chat. It does have multi language support too but I need to tweak design before you can use that.

Please note the chat section still has design work and features to add. (users online, emojis etc)

I'll update github with latest issues and features regarding the chat tonight.

That's 2nd milestone reached. I'll create a new one for next week where we will be taking real deposits for play and invest :)

you miss the point of the investment bankroll:usually the maximum payout depend directly
on the total amount of money invested,so what is good for investors is good for gamblers :)
also there is no garantee that investors will profit all the time,a lucky whale could dig deep into that bankroll and make investors cry

exactly its good for both ends aside from the investors got some edge if the banks keep winning and keeps earnings from the house edge
good to see that more improvements and progress has been done here and its a great opportunity for those investors who understand the
risk when placing their money into the bankroll. good luck OP.

Just looked in to this.
It's not a bug.
It's because the profit column shows profit before commission is taken.
Also because of the way leverage works your % of house changes every bet based on total invested and max bet.
So in your specific case you were able to get that small extra amount in current.

I can show calculations at some point to maybe help better explain it.

Good question, otherwise what would be the point? :)

The main things you will see on launch are:

Even faster betting than before
Multi currency support - play and invest
"App" support - casino account and bankroll service so you can create your own casino using our platform.
Investment feature making a return
Free bets to test before deposit
New simpler and easier to use theme (in my oppinion)

However that's just the main differences on initial launch.

There's things that you won't see since they are either behind the scenes or will be released incrementally after launch.
The whole site has been rewritten from scratch with scalability and maintanability in mind.

This allows adding:
new games,
native mobile app support,
bonus and reward systems,
and better promotions to be added easily.

I won't go in to the future additions much here until after the improved dice site is launched :)

Small Updates:

Added scroll to investments dialog so if you have too many investments you can still see the close button.
Don't show divest dialog if total investment is 0
Set new limits for highroller bets based on currency: btc = 0.1, eth = 2, dash = 2, ltc = 10, xmr=5, free doesn't get on it
You can't invest the free coins now
Formatting if balance and bet amount
Fixed setting client seed issue
Fixed chat line length so it spans multiple lines

Today I'll be working on smaller updates and cleanup like the above (I have > 30 on my todo list :) )

Scuni is working on account page this weekend so we should see that complete soon with all the expected account features and some new.

It looks like test site is down right now http://bkp1.azurewebsites.net/
Is it only me or others also have similar problem?
or this testing is over now?

It's not just you :)

I took that test version offline.

I've had a bit of an issue with Microsoft Azure the past few weeks.
Lets just say their service isn't going to be the ideal choice for the new website.

So I've decided to rewrite (again) the backend in NodeJS, change database away from MSSQL and use a different cloud/hosting provider.
I will also be switching to Linux instead of Windows servers. (only took 4 years dooglus :) )

This sounds like a big change but it won't slow down the development as much as you might think.

I will give updates in here and put a new test site up once I have changed everything over.

Thanks

Wow. This means lots of rewrite.
I think you are more familiar with MS technologies so it will be hard for you to migrate to Linux platform, but I'm sure it will pay off in long term.

Also here is my react-stack with node.js if you want to check for fast development: https://github.com/lugrugzo/react-stack

What is it now? Lamp? I mean if you are moving away from mssql the most reasonable choice would be mysql, that is not a hard migration for someone who knows mssql.

Changing backend sql to something else is not as hard as changing the front end code if you ask me. Changing from javascript to php is a lot (I mean A LOT) harder than changing the backend databse from mssql to mysql.

Yeah true. I'm also changing the ASP.NET and C# code to NodeJs and moving away from Azure (which I relied on their queue service before) to another cloud platform.

It's going well and to be honest a lot easier than I expected.

It is a big change and so i guess it might take some time for the site to be back depending upon the time you are able to spend for the site, what happened to old sites,it was a lot easier to relaunch everything and make some minor tweeks and good to see that you are taking an effort to start everything from scratch,i would like to know what made you to move away from Azure .

Nice to see you back in the game. Will definitely try out once there's a version online again.

Best of luck with this.

I am of the opinion that it would be more nice and kind of being more clients conscious if you can try to notify the community if there will be any upgrade on this site and why its going to offline for a particular period of time and when its going to be back online this will save unnecessary speculations in a case where you are not available to respond to enquiries raised by user who visited during down times.

Read the messaged earlier and it's not just you, even me I can't open the site so it's mean that betking.io is still on the test scenario. And if you read betking.io's post here;

It's not just you :)

I took that test version offline.

I will give updates in here and put a new test site up once I have changed everything over.

Thanks

Let's just wait for his update here in his thread so that we can have updates about the progress of his relaunching.

Unfortunately I've not been able to do much coding the past week or so.

Few things coming up so I'm going to look to hire a team to help finish.

Any Node developers reading pm me if you would like to work on BetKing.

Are you currently working alone on your website? Because so much coding in so much languages is very difficult task (I think so).
Your website was good for dice and also very known to my mind. Why so many changes in coding if you are going to still make dice?
Also to my mind Betking sounds better on sports betting website, will be happy if I'll see this in future. Wish you success.

The site was running good and making good profits each day but one day dean decided to shut it down. May be he was bored to do same things over and over again. But he couldn't keep himself away from those excitements and gambling.

Sorry for the lack of updates.

Nothing new to really show or tell at the moment unfortunately except that I am still working on it.

The new release date will be "when it's done" :)

I haven't been able to commit all my time recently to it.
There's been added delays with scrapping the new code and then using a new development language and platform.

Also I just want to make sure everything is done right and to make it as secure as possible.

Will post again when the test site is back online.

Thanks

This looks like a long back initiated gambling website which has gained good reputation from the gamblers. To popularize it too did several promotional thread as well organised few campaigns. This time too on the relaunch can expect free test giveaways. Good luck.
