So i'm on the interwebs and I go to coinmarketcap.com to look for a coin to invest in.
I come across bitcoin plus (XBC)

can someone explain what cause this very sharp increase in price?

This shit was sitting at like $3 / $4 usd for years, then out of the blue, shoots up to $130 USD within a couple hours, and then shoots down to like $30 USD.

was anybody able to capitalize off this and sell when it hit that highpoint that it probably wont ever hit again? Does anybody know what caused that sharp increase?

What annoys me is that it was on polo for a long time with virtually zero volume yet they wouldn't add coins like Pivx...

i'm thinking that some insiders / people behind the coin had a little scheme, and just wanted to do a Very Quick Cashout... so they spiked it, cashed out, and quickly dropped the coin value down

or something along those lines. I don't really know how it all works in the backgrounds

No particular reason for this pump I don't think.  I am kind of raging as I had a couple of hundred of these a couple of years ago and got rid of them for pittance.

these shitcoin with the name of bitcoin are very dangerous, because newbie think they have something to do with bitcoin and the hard fork, but they are only altcoin made by greedy dev that want to pump and dump and scam naive investors like, please don't fall for any altcoin with bitcoin in its name

better to stay away since there's no concrete project that will be develop like what other said its just a dev or groups of pump and dump who just looking for opportunity for those newbies that would be riding in this current movement and for sure they will just dump it when see opportunity.

but bitcoin plus isn´t at least technically way better than btc and btu, they also implemented tor network, Hybrid POS/ POW

Looking at the chart, i can only say it is a P&D coin, made and stored by Poloniex to maintant their traders/whalers.
It is common that exchanges creates coins just to stimulate the volumes and attract more users (yocoin).

Now, almost every exchange have his own coin, it leaves a wide open door for price manipulation, except for cryptopia, as they coin have a real usage (listing, ads, merchants)

It is another altcoin which is going to make you poor.

Sure is a pump and dump, just don't get caught into it.
