Title: Litecoin after the ..........
Post by: aoluain on April 04, 2017, 09:59:39 AM
So as everyone has noticed there is a lot of interest
and activity surrounding LTC, and im sure we are all
have a vested interest in its movements  ;)

But I wondering and thinking about the long term forecast apart from
the hop on hop off trading going on now.

what happens after all the hyper trading?
does the value revert back to its January level for example?
does it reach a new base level?
does it finally become what everyone keeps eluding to and be that *Silver"?

Great questions and I believe no one knows the answer to those questions.

But with Segregated Witness and Lightning Network both active on Litecoin and Bitcoin networks that would enable instant swaps without the need for a central exchange, and that would be pretty awesome.

:) BTC going into - - -
LTC is just pure pump
ETH is getting traction and used + + +
LTC suppose to be fast and furious but ETH comed and has taken its place.
When BTC stucked/had traffic JAM ETH jumped in transactions NOT LTC so whole silver for people is just BS

https://bitinfocharts.com/comparison/transactionvalue-btc-eth-ltc.html
that shows that ETH is taking over crypto

true silver was chosen as ETH

You mean all the transactions from people putting money in all of those scam ICOs?

That's just Bitfunder/Havelock/BTCT on steroids, when enough people lose enough money we'll see a decrease in usage and consequently value.

Startups already have a high failure rate, imagine if you got the money from suckers investors on the Internet?

Yes this sounds like something I had in my head but didnt know how to explain it I suppose.

I wouldnt like to see a kind of "flash in the pan" scenario where this current trend is just
pump and dump and LTC lands back at .00000800BTC and lies in an almost dormant state
for another 5 years

That kind of level is impossible, even in its "dead" phase it's been sitting around 0.004 BTC.  After the dump which will happen in a couple of weeks, I doubt it'll go much lower than .003.

Silver not anymore, but still in contention to be in the top 5,there's a litecoin foundation and they are set up to make sure that litecoin development is continuous, this could be the reason why the pump and probably long term price increase, but we'll see how it progresses.

The greatest feature of LTC is its age.
Even though not dying is nice (well it's fundamental), it's not enough for a bright future, and right now many other projects run faster (ETH above all). Some new announcements are needed to believe in a far future.

Likely depends on how fast the Lightning network is added. Considering the money already invested in it's development I will not be surprised to see it implemented quickly (within weeks). Watch for this announcement and then LTC is in an extremely competitive position.

Nobody can actually predict the future, maybe Nostradamus. but one thing is certain, if  Segwit get activated on LTC and does what was promised it would do, there is a good probability of the price spiking and surpassing Dash because for me the instant send on Dash will not be as marketable as it is today

yea I know no-one can predict the future, just looking for ideas maybe
based on past experiences with other currencies

so its fair to say so that the Segwit and Lightening upgrades [faster transactions and lower fees]
would drag LTC more in line with newer currencies.

it is fair to say that LTC could leapfrog DASH into 4th place if/when its market cap bulks up.
