The rate is pretty nice right now.
Sow should i sell now or wait ?

if youre ready profit is good decesion sell it

Just wait a little bit more.By june i think or earlier this may.Bitcoins price will pump up to $2000-$2500 mark as stated by big holders of bitcoins and price pumpers,they set a goal for it.And sell by the time they reach that goal

I'm not selling anytime soon..

I would sell in an emergency, I consider my BTC sort of an emergency fund..  I can go pretty much anywhere in the world and if anything happens all I need to do is get to the internet and I can conjure up a decent chunk of money to get myself out of a tight spot..

Other than that, I don't think I will sell my BTC for anything less than a life changing amount of money.. Like buy a house with 1BTC..

I agree with others, better to hold for more time. The price is stable near $1200 and if you sell it now maybe it will be hard to see the price of BTC below $1200... But if you bought it before for $900-$1000, you are already making profit with the currently price, it's upon to you.

Just be aware the price can increase soon and the profit can be bigger.

Why would you sell now? Do you think we are in a bubble? I don't think so. We just had a correction after the blocksize debate but that was an artificial dump caused by Roger Ver's well organized FUD. They spammed the blockchain to make us think that 1mb blocks aren't big enough. Now we see that wasn't the case so there is absolutely nothing to fear.

If you don't desperately need any FIAT, there is no reason to sell. At least wait for another all time high to appear before selling. You can't go wrong with this strategy.

As the other big investor and professional long term holder says, Patience is always a virtue so if you have a lot of it then you can be successful in this thing (Bitcoin). If i were you, i will just hold and wait for the price and hope for the best for price to climb up even higher and i will continue to increase my bitcoin until i save at least 5 btc and if the price is around $2,000 then i will sell all my bitcoins.

Its depend on yourself, do you need the money or not, if not then just wait because the price is keep on getting better, so if you hold longer the rate will become better, set a target price for yourself and sell when its reach that point, because you can't predict the price, just sell it when you feel satisfied with the price

I sold some Bitcoin on the last big increase. The rest that I have, I'm going to hold for long term. I'll buy some more if the price drops below $1000 again which could still happen.

Sow better not to sell or sell do whatever you'd like I don't care, there are actually people with 50K plus bitcoins and every time price drops $1 or $2 their hearts pumps like crazy, it's no joke when we're talking about $50,000 or $100,000 potential loss and I'm sure you can imagine the state of the mind of the same people when price drops $40 or $80 but I guess those people are smarter than this knowing the price will eventually increases.

For short trade sell it know but for long term I think no, because this year I think in Ber months the price of bitcoin will pump again just like every that past so you better wait before selling but if you are in short trade you can sell it and buy again if it is going to dump.

What really makes you think that the price of bitcoin will jump to $2000 ,the scaling issues are not settled and we do have a large transaction fees and what changes do you see in the market that will trigger yet another bull run,i am not sure we will see another bull run unless and until there is any massive positive news.

If you need some money or you want to make some profit and planning to buy it back later then it is a good time to sell, the price has been hovering around the $1200 mark for a while and it is close to all time high so maybe you will have another time to buy back. But personally i prefer to wait if it's not urgent.

It depends on your state right now.If you will have profit for selling by this time then sell the quantity of coins you can profit on and store those part of bitcoins who needs higher value for profit.

Actually, it depends on your analyzation. In every analysis, it must be decided very well to avoid wrong decision. And part of making analyzation, therr should be a will and patience so that what you are looking forward would be successfuly done.

I am trying to earn Bitcoin right now, so definitely not going to sell anytime soon.

If you do not need fiat right now then you can still hold it,  or you can also trade it into fiat or other  if your worried and think that the price of btc will decrease then buy again in much cheaper price.

You can sell them if you have reached your profit. Otherwise wait for some more time. Though you have gotten your profit then also you can wait as bitcoin price is going to rise for sure. If you have more patience then you should wait like until the 2017 year end, I'm pretty sure you will get rate of 1500+ for this one.  :)

I think you should wait first. Because the price of Bitcoin increases by the end or half of the year. Selling now is a great opportunity also but I think the Buy wall is strong and the best way to sell for me is like $1300+ Then wait for the price to dump up to $1100 before buying again. Right now as you can see, the price is increasing so you should wait for more pumps before selling. Or you will miss the opprtunity to gain some more profit.

I want to wait just because I do not know the way the wait is going to be getting a huge advantage or otherwise,
whether bitcoin will potentially increase by 1350 dollars / bitcoin.

This is not the best time to sell your bitcoin. There is a problem on the bitfinex exchange site which that gives an impact for the global rate on the statistic site such as bitcoinwisdom.com.
I've heard you will not be able to withdraw your money through the fiat withdrawal on the bitfinex site. Don't sell your bitcoin right now.

Definitely shouldn't sell right now but i think you should take care by diversifying your portfolio.

For example, maybe sell 10% for USD, 10% in altcoins but the majority of your coins should still be in bitcoin.

Even though it might seem like bitcoin price is inflated right now, I think it can go to $2,000 per bitcoin by the end of the year.

Just be careful trading, don't get scammed out there!

it depends on what your plans are with bitcoin. for example if it is the long term investment like most people, then it is not a good idea to see now that price is this low! wait for the $5000, $6000, $10,000 price.

but if it is a short term to sell and take the profit to buy back more (and if you are speculating a dip) in the dip. then maybe it is a good time.
but remember bitcoin price was at $1230-$1250 before the split FUD which means it is just coming back to its rightful price and unless bitfinex goes to hell, i don't see any other reason for this price to go any lower.

You better to wait or hold your bitcoin unyil the price reach their maximum amount.  You can buy more bitcoin now and I believe bitcoin will pump next month . And if you want longterm hold your bitcoin until august because july is halving you will earn more for sure in aigust because sometimes the effect of halving is the next month.  Hold your bitcoin now and dont sell it if you more profit.

nobody know how much bitcoin could reach the maximum price , but keep holding it on for long term purpose always good as you can see the bitcoin price year by year never get dropped , it is always on top price , and you will regret when you have to sell it all by now.

If you reach your goal and earn profit already you can sell your bitcoin. And if you think youre not earning while holding your bitcoin you can wait a little and sell yours. But actually we could not predit the bitcoin price until what price it will reach. As long you earn already its good to sell.

do not panic when prices began to rise remained calm. You have to do the analysis prior to ensure this price is quite favorable. because maybe the price could rise

Wow, i do not expect that amount would be the value of bitcoin but i think it is possible but i think it will take more decades and many things will happen in your life i do not think you will hold all your bitcoin for long time of period.

If we get more populated the demands will really grow and that means more value for bitcoin. Dont let it tempt you even if you are seeing a large number of dollars. You could trade it for an altcoin or look for a different way to enlarge it.

wait for now, litecoin segwith should help bitcoin, pushing segwit to activation, since UASF is not really supported even by dev(at least greg is not with it) and i won't hope for that to force them to change

the price nicely recovered and dumping now would be stupid, the new bottom is clear in front of your eye, do you really want to dump at the bottom? if you are wise you should wait until the next movement of the market

Well I am doing both things right now, I am selling and at the same time holding. A least seventy percent (70%) of my earnings I am spending and thirty percent (30%) of my earnings I save it on my wallet and hold it. Before I was actually holding most of my earned bitcoins but hackers keep attacking my accounts and so I was forced to spend 70% of my earnings so I can enjoy my earnings and avoid being a victim of hacking.

I agree with the opinion to wait a little bit longer to get rid of the bitcoins, it seems that we still may have even further build-up of the price, however im not being so enthusiastic about it, 1200$ per one bitcoin is a really high price if we compare it with the BTC history.

On the other hand, the Bitcoin Unlimited power seems to grow, and the incoming SegWit on ltc doesnt seem to increase the strength of SegWit support among bitcoin community.

Right now I am not in need of money.
So to me selling would not make sense. Those bitcoins I have stashed, I do not intend to touch over the next decade, no matter what.

Sell it now because the price is high so it's better to sell it now and if you don't want it's okay too but long wait is what you need if you are not selling that bitcoin now. But For me sell but only the half of it and wait for the another pump for you not to regret.

If the price is pretty good and you already earn profit its better to sell it but its defend on you if you want to sell or to hold your bitcoin.
Because all of us have their own prediction on the price of the bitcoin. And for me bitcoin price can reach up to $2000 to  $2050.

Such amount can be only after a few years. So sometimes you can spend part of the coins or invest in something else.

At this stage, it is better to HODL than selling. Unless you really need fiat currency for something urgent.

I suggest to divide your bitcoin, such as : BTC1 saving for long term and BTC0.83 for cash out.
Current ATH won't break as long as block size limit can't afford so many transaction, which people will sell at >$1240 or less.
When bitcoin price drop back, you can purchase bitcoin or use the money for your needs.

Of course there is no way to predict when is the good time to sell, but just be aware in the news and observe the trends and ups and downs of bitcoins prices. Don't be greedy on prices some economist says that bitcoins price will rice tremendously, and sell only when in desperately need fo cash.

Most probably, you are reflecting my plans. Even the future is highly unpredictable, I'm very much comfortable with my bitcoin saving because I'm not fully depending on it. So I never need to worry about price trends as I am always targeting bitcoin places in millions. So, I just will hold my bitcoin for ever and will sell few for some cash needs.

1.83 btc isnt too big to make profits too much on small movements then its better to go short as of the current price its a sweet spot specially when you bought bitcoin on 1000+ price then you are on profits now and once you sold it then wait for another best possible lowest price then do the same thing again,its just like that.

If you think you need the money now. sell it right away but if I where you I'm gonna wait till the bitcoin price reach $1300 because bitcoin has the potential to reach that price this year even in this forum they're talking about that price range for bitcoin this year so much better if you're gonna save more to your stocks before selling it out.

If you got it from the profit you made I guess its good figure now, and also consider if you are in need now you can sell it but if not better not sell it because coin is increasing for sure if you hold it will increase more.

for sure, many people will still wait for the comeback of the bitcoin's price to higher value rather than selling it immediately especially those who bought bitcoin at $1300 although the price is getting pretty nice right now maybe it will still go higher not immediately but maybe soon .

Before asking here to sell or not better compare price with the price at which you bought and more important your motive to buy Bitcoins because 90 of 100 posts here will be signature spamming. By motive I meant whether you bought Bitcoins to earn profit or increase net worth. If your motive is profits then you better know compare Sell Price - Cost Price = Your Profits. But if your motive is increasing net worth, let the amount sustain there for 4-5 years and chill ;)

I also often have this issue at a time when the price is approaching $ 1,300 for bitcoin. But I do not want to sell yet, despite the fact that there are already very disappointing rumors.

I'm still waiting for a few bumps up before I sell. I dunno, maybe I'd need it for an emergency and I definitely don't want that happening while the exchange rate is low. So yeah, when it feels right, I'd probably sell some. Maybe I'd keep most of the fiat in the online wallet so that I don't have to take money out of my pocket to buy btc. Wait for the right time, convert, leave it in the wallet. Then wait for a plunge and use the saved up fiat to buy btc.

Good that you have as much as that in stock because to gather that these days is a lot of effort. I will only advise that in situation like this, the question I asked myself is am I ready to live with whatever comes after such decision whether there will be another price surge, or there will be price crash. So far I can answer that I am selling all.

It depend on how you analyze it! if the stock prices has reach the pick the best thing to do is to sell it but if at has not reach the pick then better hold it. another thing I will add is if you have need to for the proceed of stock after selling it. if you don't have need? is better not to covert to fiat.

to me i think in present time it will not be a right decision to sell bitcoins. as in present time, the price of bitcoin is going to increase more and therefore i think it will be a right decision to hold bitcoin for the price increase. time time it is expected that the price of bitcoin will easily cross 1500 USD level and hope will still continue to increase.

I will sell if I were you. You don't need to wait for a few more bumps in the bitcoin price. I think you have calculated your profits already so the best option is to sell it right away. If you are looking for a few more price bumps then it will take another month or so for that to happen.

Even though I have not gathered up to that amount of bitcoin, and I am hoping to get there one day but the fact still remains that if I get to reach that point and price is at this level that we are, I wont even wait for opinion before selling it off the next thing I do is to take my mind off so as not to start having second thought as regarding the decision already taken.

It is a virtue to wait. In my first weeks here, I get really impatient making me worry what might happen and I am always thinking negatively, maybe I am not just used how volatile bitcoin is. But as you can see now, the price is back to being high again, well I have been waiting for these since last month. It is better to wait, especially when we are talking about bitcoin. You can always sell it easily but makes sure you have a profit from it but you will be regretting it.

If you are holding bitcoin for a long term and if you are sure that the price would soar in the future multiple times and you really do not need money from bitcoin for emergency purposes then i would suggest you to hold it for a longer time and bitcoin does give you ample time to enter before a bull run,so taking chances is just the only way. Holding for long term require strong intention and determination to do it, you need a plan to cover your expenses in order not to sell your bitcoin. Which means, hard to do if you don't have real job and savings as backup funds for your daily needs.

I have 0.5 btc and do not intend to sell, but  have incoming from other side. I think that bitcoin will grow up more and more and I see this as opportunity for earn on long period of time,like some kind of saving. As a mater of fact, I will try  to collect and as much as I can.

Just wait for the right time before you sell it. But if the price is right why you cannot choose to sell it immediately. You just need to study the fluctuate of increasing and decreasing of bitcoin in the market to easily for you to determined if you sell it or wait more.

I have noticed since this year when the price reaches $1300 then it will drop to $1000, to see that the price of the bitcoin is difficult to climb. I recommend to sell when the price reached more than $1250 as it will drop again.

If you sell some Bitcoin now, I would suggest holding some in case the price rises some more. An increase is not out of the question even though the price seems high.

My plan is to sell a part of my coins in 2018. I can wait until then. If the prices don't climb to a satisfactory level by 2018, then I will have to revisit my plans. It is necessary to do some sort of a profit booking.

If you have made an around 20% profit from your investment then better to sell off some of them and keep some for long term appreciation. Because you may get a chance to buy at a lower price later on but it is not guaranty so you shouldn't sell off everything. I usually buy smaller quantity when prices going down and sell when I make around 20 to 30% profit.

Yeah, if you not really need the money to buy your needs wait is a good choice because price is definitely going up now. Maybe in mid or end of 2017 is  our jumping stone for Bitcoin but without big news happened it might takes longer.

That is actually a pretty straightforward strategy, almost the same as what I do with my stock trading. There should be separate funds for short, medium, and long term investments, and as much as possible, try to set buy and sell targets. By doing this, we are disciplined enough to sell when it reaches your target and just rinse and repeat the process.

This looks quite a good methodology to have a perfect profiting unlike selling at times without any prior plans. Making a buy and sell target will help in making a schedule, so that we can experience the profit unlike the price fluctuations that is common with bitcoin. We too doesn't need to get panic at instance and sell low.

well it actually depends on you totally .if you want fiat urgently then the price of bitcoins is enough .well if you do bitcoins for profit then i would say that you should wait until the price of bitcoins goes 2000$ -2500$.according to me it is going to happen in the month of september and then you can sell part of your bitcoins.

Currently do both is good as price of bitcoin isn't increasing. Normally what i do is i keep some permanent funds for future use only and use another wallet where i only trade. So what you can do is split your coins and keep some for future and try to grow the rest throught trading or investing.

It depends on you, if you already earn with nice amount there's nothing wrong if you want to sell it right now but if your profit is not that big and you are not really in need of money then better to wait. investing is risky but you wont gain anything if you have no patience. remember the saying "good things happen for those who wait". im inspired by that words and i always apply it when im investing and so far my instinct didnt disappoint me.

I do agreed and believed that bitcoin this midst of 2017 bitcoin will become 1500$ to 2000$ and if that happen many of the bitcoin holder will surely sell their bitcoin. But the thing problems with the bitcoin holder they became impatience so in the end they regret why do they sell their coins. So the real better way was sell it once the price value reach 10,000$.

Probably wait, even the price has increased, but it will be better to wait more days. It is not required to sell your BTC unless you require fiat immediately.

if you search around in speculation topics for lets say about a 5 months ago you can see exact copies of your comment there but with different numbers.
what i want to say is that bitcoin holders[/b] traders are always selling and buying but it is the rising demand that increases the price and these short term tradings that are done for short term profit will always exist and they don't affect the overall movement much.

Sell it, if you already got some good profit from it why wait? The only reason why some loses money is because they want more and more there is no way a person thet is too greedy would get big amount of profit. There is a possibility that the price might go higher but still it's safer if you sell it now.

It's better for you to keep on waiting. But if you think that you already got enough profit for the current price of bitcoin, go sell it. It's up to you, you are the one that can answer your question. Because most of the people here, regardless of the amount of bitcoins they are holding, we are going to keep on holding.

Im not going to wait for a longer time, because as we can see, the bitcoin price is already really high, if we look at the whole history of this cryptocurrency, since 2008.
I dont think it is a better idea to wait for a longer time, because the price became quite stable, around the 1200$ level. it means we have some kind of a strong resistance area, above 1200-1250 united states dollar per one bitcoin.
If we cannot cross this, but the price action tests these levels pretty often, then It is a clear sign for me, that the best decision for me will be just selling, and accumulating my profits.
I prefer to wait for a better opportunity, than to lose my current earnings.

For now I have sold a big part of my bitcoin stash since I really needed some money right now and so that I can buy when it dumps. If I were you I would be selling some portion of my bitcoin stash now not because I needed some money but because there's always the possibility of dump now that the price is above 1200$+. No, that's bade deicision to sell the bitcoin in this time. actually there are a lot of impact caused by the bitfinex case. I should be considered it as fake fomo.

As long as you aware with fluctuation and anytime prices can crashed. you can't blame him for sell their bitcoins. Bitfinex's incident is a old story and it made huge impact for bitcoin's price but for the time being the price is slowly increasing.

That's true when he gets his bitcoin from his profit then its better to sell than to wait till bitcoin price will be decrease.  Increasing bitcoin up to $1500 dollars will be on next year this will happen but for now sell them and wait till bitcoin price drop.

When the price dropped to 900 recently, I got scared and regretted not selling my coins. And then I decided that if the price would resume and exceed 1200, I would sell the bitcoins. But now the price is 1200+, but I'll wait a little longer

Yes I agree, I think prices will continues to rise because it has now reached $1250, I bet the price of the bitcoin is more stable than early last year, looks to increase because demand for pure (not speculation)

I will hold my bitcoins until it hits booming rate of BTC = 2500+ and ask me it is possible. I have seen various news, global critics reviews which says it possible to reach upto that mark. So I believe there is no need to go for panic selling at this moment if you can grab big profits on later trades. Having patience is the key for successful trade which I always have. Waiting will always pay you back. I have seen my own investing going down the chart but also saw it coming up really fast because of bitcoins fast recovery. I would really suggest you to wait another year if you wish to make some big money. ;)

If you are still holding that bitcoin now is the time to sell it because the price of the bitcoin is at it's pick price so It's better to sell it now and then buy later but I think bitcoin will reach the 1500$ price so the decision is in your hand. Sell now or wait the 1500$ price but I think It's okay to sell now. You think twice before you sell it.

It's up to you if you are contented for the value of your bitcoin now. If you need money then you should sell it. But if not i prefer hodl it as much as you can. Bitcoin's value increases every year and the current price now is not yet the peak of it. I think 2 years from now the current price of bitcoin will be doubled so we should just hodl it when we don't need it necessarily.

Isn't your advice confusing?  If you would ask me I would wait till June.  There is some news that smart contract is coming this June.  It might cause a huge hype to Bitcoin and may cause the price to increase.  This is a big update for Bitcoin so I guess it will definitely push Bitcoin Price up.

I feel there will be more increase happen to the price of btc this year. If you already in profit at this price and contented about the profit. I suggest  not sell all of it ,sell only the half and leave the other half for long term .

I wil mostly wait. Bitcoin helps me get lots of profit when i save it. Un my country bitcoin equals to six figure amount. For me it is an advantage when bitcoin price moves a little bit on trade chart then it shows big change in my currency. I love that profit and hence i keep saving more bitcoins.

Yes have any long term planning, and you will have the patience to wait for a long time to make a good profit. Then buy coins and wait for minimum 6 months fo time you will get good profit. I think it is good if you can still wait, the price is unstable but it is going up right now. You may regret that you've sell it earlier. to me my personal view is that it is still time to wait and not to sell, because the price of bitcoin is really expected to increase too  much in next few months, therefore i think it still time to wait for the price increase. although i personally like to invest bitcoin in trading altcon, because i have a good experience and knowledge about trading altcon, therefore for most of the time i like to invest money in atcoin. but currently holding bitcoiin is more profitable than trading alt coin.

Personal preference in this post, so take it with a grain of salt, but I love to play the market and actively move money back and forth so I can't say that I'm under the impression of holding for a long time, nor do I like to sell and wait for a long time unless it is a good decision. For most people it is a good idea to hold their Bitcoin and let the value appreciate, but I can't force you to do anything. Well i dont play profit loss games with bitcoins. I just hold them as i know holding bitcoins is the best approach. but in life you need money to spend so i have to cash out bitcoins often to get fulfill my daily needs.

I am not sure to sell it that fast, especially when it has these kind of price. It has a possibility to increase or pump again so you may really regret it if you sell it auickly just by looking at the price. You may try to analyze what may happen before selling. And not everytime it dump that quickly too, bitcoin dumping as you can see, has less time to dump now because of its many users.

On some point, bitcoin have a stable way for its price. the fluctuation will not be meaning something. In case the trend of bitcoin will always be an increase in the future and more demands will go to the bitcoin itself.

holding is the right decision with low of risk for the holders.
The price of bitcoin is always bounced. It can be recovered anytime depends on the market condition.

I am basically doing the same where short term fluctuations don't mean anything when it comes to the coins that I am hodling for the long term, but aside from that I also happen to trade occasionally.

I have a portion of my coins that are purely meant for hodling purposes, while alongside that I do have a separate number of coins purely for trading purposes.

It allows me to optimally benefit from the ups and downs where the aim is pointed at increasing the number of coins that I have. Of course, trading adds more risk than just hodling, but so far it has been well worth it for me.

It does not look like that necessarily, in fact it may turn out that the better idea is just to cash them out right now, to hop in the trend again and harvest nice profits on the new occasion.

We have a same thought regarding on choosing whether to sell or wait. Because we all know that bitcoin price always changes so its matter of timing for you to earn. We should always monitor the price so we will have a good decision to earn and have a good trade if we will do trading. For me in order for us to hold and wait we should set goals for us to achieve and control our self whenever there is a time on choosing to sell or to wait.

Yeah. I would suggest making a file to where you could list every trade that you would make just for monitoring purposes too.
As I look to my past I have forgotten every buy and sell that I have made so I dont know how much profit I really made.
Maybe something like that could also help in making decision specially in the selling part where sometimes we doubt if it is time to sell or not yet.

Please drop your plan buddy. I know that price moving towards 1300$ now but expected speculation for the bitcoin price is over 2000$ in this year Christmas. Therefore, you can postpond your plan and sell your bitcoin in this year end or next year. As everyone do and you can also make long term holding.

Yes it won't be a great decision to sell bitcoins at the price of $1500 as price is expected to touch the price of $2k in the end of the year and if he sells his bitcoins at $1500 then he will regret for not holding longer when he will see price crossing $2k in this year.

I suggest you to sell only in case you need money and only the amount in BTC worth of money you need because most likely Bitcoin will rise more in the future. I just sold $60 worth of BTC but only because I need it. Btw the transaction fee was only $0.33 which is not that big as it has been lately.

Im a bit confused, because the split at bitcoin is about to happen, no one knows when but its coming, while i should see btc failing down we are on the reverse side, soo its very hard to make decisions based into the current value, i never thinked it would cross the 1200 dollars and its at 1300, im sure bitfinex bank withdraws are pushing the btc value up, since they cant cashout in fiat from there.

bitcoin isn't anywhere close to being $1.3k, and anyone valuing Bitcoin there is being deluded by the movements on Bitfinex. On BTC-E (another very prominent exchange for Bitcoin, and one of the better backups) it's trading at just $1240. Anything you see that uses Bitfinex as a source is having the value artificially inflated. Just now I sold some coins when it crossed $1300 as I bought my bitcoins at very low price in the past and at current price I was making good profits from it so without thinking much I sold a part of my investments and now holding rest of my coins for the future.

This is quite an optimistic situation for those holding the bitcoin for higher prices. I am also waiting for the prices to get higher and then sell my coins in a better price. From the OP it seems he doesn't have a current pressing need for the money but because he fears the current rate of Bitcoin might decrease that's why he wants to sell but I can assure him one thing that the price wil keep rising and so the more you hold the better for you unless maybe you're skilled enough to be able to trade on the margins.

I have the same thinking as well. The Japanese influence on the price of bitcoin is still not clear. Its still less than a month since they have adopted bitcoin, so I don't think that they have much impact yet to the price of bitcoin rising up as what we have witnessing right now. What we are seeing is that Bitfinex hold the withdrawal of USD so investors/traders option is to convert their money to bitcoin, that's why the price of bitcoin is temporarily being pump right now.

The price will go down as soon as withdrawals has resume. So better sell it now to take advantage of the situation to gain huge profit, otherwise the price will go down again. So better hurry mate.

There should nothing be worried if one trading site crash down since there are so many btc trading site that has a larger volume of bitcoin trades, thus even though one exchanger crash down, bitcoin can still pump its value/price.

Yes of course, if a trading site or platform will go down and it is a famous and well known trading site then it will be a big news for bitcoin and eventually it will make the bitcoin price down because investors and holders will think it is a bad news and threat for the price of bitcoin because sometimes those kind of incident makes the bitcoin price dump.

We should not be answering your question for your own investment/trade from the start. You as the trader should have know your personal target price even your stop loss/cut loss plan. A trader always know his or her exit and entry strategy. But to keep the conversation going you should have told us what's the price when you bought the Bitcoin in which we will know if you have a good margin for your gain. I agree, it depends on the price of btc the moment you bought it that means you are the only one who can tell when you gain enough to sell it. its important to have a target price when you are investing in btc so you wont be confuse and hesitant to sell. but for me, im not really in hurry so i dont sell because i want to gain more and i treat it as for long term.

I kind of suspected that OP is not in a desperate need of money and then, in other words, my advice would be to not sell now. If you bought Bitcoin in the past for the much lower price than it is now and you are good with the profit then you can sell. But if you want to have BTC then you might end up buying at the higher price in the future.

You can sell a part of it if you are making good profits from it but if you are looking to make much higher profits then I think you should hold them till the end of the year as everyone is hoping to see higher price at the time of Christmas.

For me, it is safe to sell some of your bitcoins to secure some profits and let the rest of your bitcoins to be in the cold storage so you can have a savings and passive income and when the price of bitcoin gets higher and higher then you can start selling again to secure your profits and wait for the right time to buy back your bitcoins and wait again for the price to get high and just repeat the cycle.

$1300 is also a good amount to sell your coin. If you are expecting a double profit, then wait for a couple of months, or this is the best time to sell your coin and make a profit. I still don't feel like it is good time to sell my bitcoins.
Even if I sell, it would be just short profit to return back. I am long in it.

Since you are just a jr. member, i want to give you a reminder. Don't ever ever do always like that, don't always wait for the price of bitcoin because it is minimum or it is just low for you even though you bought your bitcoins for a low price. Well the current price of Bitcoin is 1316$ the question is when did you bought your Bitcoin at what price? Or what is the average of it atleast? For me it is hard to suggest something not knowing at what price did you bought your Bitcoin. Also this kind of questions should be answered by you in the first place as you are the one who decided to enter (buy) Bitcoin you also need to plan your exits with it. Because by not doing so you are risking yourself with the opportunity of locking in profits just waiting for nothing. I sold half of my bitcoins today as it was a good price to sell to get huge profits as I bought them at very low price in the past so selling them was a good decision instead of holding them too long and if price goes down in coming days then I have to wait longer to make profits.

You made a nice decision, if you had been able to roi from your investment its already a good new. I do have a similiar strategy but instead of exchange into fiat since i dont need it, im investing into a new altcoin as well being making some new investements.

I do the same as you do, I rather just sell my BTC when I need fiat, i dont really look at the price.
But I always make up some goals in the chart, on which I convert BTC (the part of them) into cash.

Trading may be very good to do for now. May sell when the price is really high, but do not use the money for fun, but waiting for the right opportunity to buy bitcoin at a cheap price, I guess it's better.

With the price of bitcoin breaking more records it will be a good time to book some profits but i am looking for the exchanges in Indian to reach the international price levels as those exchanges are seeing some sell off in the past two days.I am expecting the price to be having a bull run atleast for a week before seeing a correction.

I don't think that the price of bitcoins will fall in next few days or weeks and it will go even higher so best thing would be to buy some more coins at a moment and sell them when price crosses 1500 mark in coming days to make quick profits.

If you want to buy bitcoins then you should buy them now and don't wait for the price drop as you will surely waste your time in waiting for it as price will only go higher from now so take decision that is best profitable for you.

The current price of bitcoin this day is giving me excitement, i think this could be the perfect time to sell. Bitcoin already reached the maximum price this month , the next rally will happen after 2 months.

Fair enough. Bitcoin may fall in price soon and recover later, so if the OP wants to spend money on something now then it's better to sell. However, in general bitcoin is growing and growing, so if this investment was made not for some specific purpose then it's better not to risk and wait, because, who know, maybe we won't see btc price dropping ever again.

To be honest, I have already sold most of the bitcoin I had stored, the current price of 1600 USD per BTC is insanely attractive for me, I have made the profit that I was trying to achieve before.

The good thing about it, is that I still have some bitcoins to redistribute them at the better BTC value, but for now I prefer to store them.
Also, I have got the money in fiat thanks to it, I can invest them somewhere else, or go in cryptocurrencies again: but better bitcoin price would be probably something nice while joining the trend again :).

Well you can set your orders automatically in any Bitcoin Exchange. But my advise in an up trend like this you need to set your selling price higher than 1500$ rather than below it. Because setting your bid at 1500$ is an act of trailstops in which you are minimizing your profit. In an up trend like this one you need to have a target price rather than a cut loss point. everyone wish to not sell their bitcoin as long as possible , the problem are they can't resist to see high price in front of your face. everytime you would just hooked to sell it all and regret when the price just keep moving . that's the hardest part when you always have an access to your bitcoin. afaik any exchange could always put a pending sell on certain amount .

I think for the problem of selling and waiting it is a personal decision of the user, if you feel you have a profit then you can sell of course if you want to get more profit just stay wait until the price really goes to the moon, sell and hold adjust to the needs of users

It is good to set your goals on earning to achieve it. If you are going to earn more or build an investment it is better to wait until bitcoin reach the price you think you earn and you thing it is enough for your trading and investment. Putting or making bitcoin as an emergency fund is not bad because through this you can avoid unnecessary consumption of bitcoin. You won't make profit when you "buy". The term taking profit in trading or even in investing means "selling" your position. Also where are you basing your assumptions that it will soon pass 2000$? Because I don't know in anyway or anyone who can predict the price of Bitcoin. Whatever you are trying to imply my suggestion is having a trail stop setting your sell points upwards that when it falls it will be on a higher level because it is on an uptrend you don't know when it will fall hard.

I already sell my bitcoin, because the price is so high. And I already get my profit so this is profit. There's no assurance that this coin will pump again to the moon. But There's a chance. This is the choices. First sell it now, or sell it later and get more profit. It may varies on peoples goals. If we want to hold bitcoin as it reach its value you need it is best way for you to earn. As we all know bitcoin is pumping and increasing its price, so if this will continue it will be more easier for us to hold and wait. Everyone like to earn, and to earn good you need to risk. This new ATH is good for shortage, but only in case that this is bubble and if you expect drop in near future. That is a risk, sell or hold, that is individual decision how much someone is ready to risk.
I have around 0.3 btc and for now I will hold my coins, I don't plan to risk them on shortage.

In any case a lot of people never thought it ould reach 600 USD after the 1000 USD crash. I think if you bought under 1000 USD now is the time to sell.

It depends on the nature of the money that you used to invest in BTC. If it is money that you don't need now, the best option is to hold longer, to gain with future valorization. If i were you, i will just hold that half of bitcoin for long term because as what you said, it is profitable and i'm sure that the profit that you will get if you sell your bitcoin next week is just a small profit for the next few years if you continue to hold it and sell it after a few years because bitcoin has a lot of potential that it can go even x3 of the price right now and that is very worth to it and we just need to hold our bitcoins.

But I feel that bitcoin prices went up quite long run from 1000+ to 1500 range so it is better to book some profit and rest keep for a longer term. We may get a chance to buy may be at a lower price also so I sold around 30% of my bitcoins which brought around 1000 range and rest keeping it and may sell some if prices go to 1700+.

If you sell, what other asset would you invest in? The only reason to sell Bitcoin is to buy another asset which can cash-flow. Whether real estate or dividend paying stocks. Both of those assets are overvalued. Maybe you take your "high valued Bitcoin" and buy an undervalued asset like "Silver bullion"? Now that's an option I exercised recently.  ;D

I sell bitcoin to buy altcoin which has a good upside potential. I have not been able to wait for bitcoin prices to keep rising, because at least I have achieved substantial profits from bitcoin trading to the dollar.

I am just going to hold a few Bitcoins just in case the price goes upa few thousand dollars. I am going to spend the other Bitcoin’s that I have that aren’t going to get stored because I can purchase things faster with bitcoin then I can by using a debit card. Bitcoin gambling games also is around the net so I will try to deposit some money into gambling accounts if I feel like making a few bucks when there is nothing else that I need to do before the sun goes down.

Investing your bitcoin into some altcoin at the rate of hoe bitcoin's price is going up may somehow let you earn a little or maybe none. It's always a good time to sell especially if we make a great profit already. Seeing the price really tempted me to sell my bitcoins and take my profit, but I realize I will be ending my journey soon once I do that, wait for longer time because there is more room for growth, some have been speculating that we will not reach this far as early but we did.

The best strategy is to sell some here and there but hold most of your position. The reality is btc cannot yet be used in every day transactions so a conversion to local currency is necessary. By selling only portions you both gain the benefit of the upturn without liquidating your entire position then you can either use the money or buy more if it does indeed fall a bit in the short term. Obviously its in a bull mode now so unlikely to fall majorly for a while.

Beforehand make sure you've chosen altcoin that really potential. Because if you do not find a potential altcoin then it would be better if you hold your money in bitcoin. It will be safer

if you are busy and or patient enough to wait bitcoin price on top level then you might better to go for long term investment and just keep waiting. but let's think if you have 10 bitcoin worth $700 each and during the last two years you do some business to grow your bitcoin like to trading altcoin . i think you would have a better profit result. but yeah it's up to you , which one are you? a busy guys or a passionate guy to be productive to earn bitcoin?

According to preev, the price now is 1714$ which is a good point to sell bitcoins so sell now or hold if you want but I get the feeling that it might dump any moment now this week. I can be wrong but selling now is not that bad after all, all of you who hold bitcoin from before 1000$ price rise and dump to sub 1000$ and bought have some nice sum of profit even those who bought at 1200$.

The market was so volatile to predict so its your choice to sell or hold .You've said to sell now is good because the price mark up will already gave a big profit and if so your predictions that it will dump is too possible .We know that in a big pump there will be also a big dump after panic selling starts.

Don't be an idiot and hodl for now because we're heading for $2000 very soon, I'd be hodling for another week to see what happens with the ETF and if price starts to fall then I'd be buying more instead of just selling because one way or another we'll go back up again.

With the way things are looking right now, it is a much better choice to be holding bitcoins for the long run, especially if other countries joins Japan and approves of bitcoins, the price increase from that would be enormous.

It's good to sell for 2000$ only if you are a medium run holder, on long run worth much more to continue holding like investors who are holding since years ago and never sold their bitcoins. These investors will hold for a decade or more.
But I think you should be prepared to sell cheaper than 2000$ if the scenario changes. Maybe it can hit 1900$ and drop strongly, so be prepared.

I have sold some of my bitcoins at that price also but I am saving more bitcoins at my disposal since I am expecting bitcoin to reach two thousand dollars by the start of June 2017. If I will wait for that date I will be enjoying large profits from selling my bitcoins. I think if were talking about bitcoin reaching in millions it would be in a distant future. Even reaching 10000 dollars is roughly hard to achieve even before by 2023. Mathematically speaking when bitcoin reach about 1 million dollars then estimating that all of the 21 million bitcoins will be mined then it would be roughly be 210 trillion dollars. Enough to turn the world market upside down.

When in terms of " as usual " December is the best bet but we wont know for sure what month would bitcoin is at its peakiest. That is a good strategy but you are not utilizing the full potential of maximizing your profit from this bull run, what I mean about that there are still no indicators that the price of Bitcoin is slowing down to go up. I would wait until  prices are around the 2000 level. I think a lot of people are eying the 2000 level as a good point to take profits off of this massive bull run, so I would expect a drop off as soon as prices hit 2k.

Because of bitcoin legalized in japan the price can be touch in $2k soon but anytime soon there are bad news will come  that can prevent the price value to be increase its value.. well just always follow the trends so that you will not lose the opportunity to make profit in your bitcoin if you heard a serious news that can push down the price of bitcoin sell it so that you can gain the profit.. and buy back again once the price is low..

This is what I'm thinking right now, I'm looking forward for the price of bitcoin to get higher and I won't sell anyway and with what I will do right now, I'm going to wait for the price to get up higher because we see on how the price did increase very quick. Yes after the Japan’s adoption to the BTC it is not fair to sell it now as the demand of the BTC is increasing and the prices are shooting high with it. I am sure that we can make more of our BTC’s that we are holding now.

If you see a very flooded condition of mempool, I'm sure majority of users will rethink to sell it in a very long transaction, even though the transaction will still be sent at least we still have chance to see bitcoin prices higher until the end of this year.

Regret will not happen if you are happy already with your profit, being greedy in investing will result to nothing, what is important is you will be able to take your capital and just hold the remaining longer, that way if something bad happen you do not lose anything. I'm feeling like to wait for sometime. This is crazy bitcoin is equal to 2099 dollars just in a month. This is very good news but at the same time worst gut feeling coming what if it takes rest and goes all the way down!!! I'm not being greedy but feeling to stay with the hope that it will grow more and more in next month too. Who knows it may hit 3000 dollars. That would triple the profit what I have invested last month in just two months.

I bought a coin during the sub-$1000 dip that happened very fast. If I was to sell that coin now, I would be getting $1011 more compared to what it was previously, and that is just within 2 months of me doing nonsensical stuff while waiting for my magical money to grow. I wouldn't be too greedy and would probably sell my coin by now. Tx fees wouldn't hurt and local exchanges don't impose any fee for cashing out bitcoins, so everything is doing great for me.

I had split my coins into some altcoins wich i do expect to get more value when the bitcoin split happens, i took my risks and soo far im happy with the results, but if i had bitcoin at this stage i would sell, i do see a crash ahead, and there is no warning when it will happen but it will happen.

It's a good advice but not everyone has an idea about margins trading and so they wouldn't be able to set the stop loss/limit like you're suggesting therefore i wish they keep their coins for the long term and wait.

I will not sell any amount of my bitcoin because i think that bitcoin will have a higher price soon and it will become even more expensive so it will be a great price for my bitcoins and it will add more profits from my holdings and that is how i will become even richer.

So as its price go higher and higher, i prefer to keep my bitcoin and sell it when it shows us that it will dump at anytime, before it will dump i will selll my bitcoin, ill just do the trading rule, buy low sell high to earn some profit. It's not that bad because it's a guaranteed from now on. And everyone is already contented that the price will even get stable at $1,500 and now it is good at $2,000 so there's no regret if ever you wanted to sell now. But don't forget to keep on holding because it is going to be beneficial all the time as long as you are in bitcoin economy.

Selling bitcoins now or not will depend on the entry price of a person and if he has bought bitcoins at much cheaper rates then its good to sell few of them now and collect the profits and rest can be saved for the future and if you want to make really huge profits then the only choice you have to not to sell them now and wait for the higher price.

To make it clearer and shorter, if you think that you've got enough ROI and profit with the current price. It's up to you if you will sell or if you need some cash then just convert some of your bitcoins to cash. And if you believe that bitcoin's price will be pumping for some more increase for the next months to come, just keep on holding.

Its good to sell some to enjoy the profits but make sure that majority of coins you save for the future as price will be higher in long term so at that time you should be having good amount of coins in your wallet to take best advantage of selling them at higher price to make higher profits.

I do agree, maybe it is time to treat ourselves from the result of our investment.  If you have 100 BTC, selling one or two BTC does not hurt in my opinion  plus you will have budget for some recreational activity or travel.  Just make sure we do not sell all our coins because we might miss an opportunity to win big when btc price goes up.

If you have that huge amount of bitcoins then you can surely sell some of them to make some profits as taking out 2 or 3 bitcoins from 100 bitcoins will never affect you much and with that amount of balance you can again earn them back by investing in trading but a person who has limited amount of bitcoins will not sell now and will hold it for a long term.

Agree, I think dont sell all your bitcoin you can sell your bitcoin 10% to 20% to your total amount. I can wait for bitcoin to rise up to 3k usd or even 5k usd but we cannot guarantee that bitcoin will go to 3k usd because bitcoin is so unpredictable. It can be lower or higher in a minute, hours, or days. So if you want to a make profit or you have a big margin, you can sell now but if the price went up. Do not regret for selling it at a low price.

Of course I will wait. It's just the start of Bitcoin. Its future is bright.

You got the point bitcoin is unpredictable  and we do not know if this year we can reach the 3k value since the price is quickly increasing and i think whales are just ready if there is signal to dump the price so for those who buying bitcoins right now better to always monitor the price of bitcoin.. and look for a group where some people are giving signal. .

If you will sell now you will regret later. As the price is currently soaring high and many are still holding the bitcoin. Well, I will still hold and wait to pump upto 3k$.

I won't sell mine if I were you bitcoin price is not predictable means there will facing ups and down but having a that bitcoin is making my self proud to have it of course I haven't gain that much of coins in my entire life. But when you are in emergency the price of bitcoin is pretty much that can help you with.

don't forget about there could be a correction soon after the skyrocketing price and up trends market. some people with greedy in their hands would always fall into this kind trap , better to becareful and stay safe. sell piece by piece until you found that it's another rise trends not a correction time anymore.

In case you sell today, are you confident that you will be able to buy back before a potential price crash recovers? That's a big IF and pure speculation. It pays off to be in it for the long term.

Maybe i will wait a slightly higher price again. Well, it would be very promising if it has a lot of bitcoin at the moment. I really want to sell the bitcoin I hold, but seeing the current price of the child continuously, makes me want to hold bitcoin that I have much longer. Maybe we will regret to sell it at this time.

But this "great correction" has been largely expected since the price brook the $800 mark, and watching the forum threads every day there is a permanent tendency to announce this correction again and again. So I prefer to keep holding despite the risk of facing that expected correction.

really if you have a lot of money to spend on an investment, a high risk investment like bitcoin then far better to wait for long long time and collect it later in the future , correction or not, you would keep moving and holding , but when you didn't have spare money enough you would get so fear even there's a correction a lot of times.
