Title: Suggest a new project
Post by: PremiumCodeX on April 21, 2017, 06:23:33 AM
Hi! What should I do as a Computer Science degree project?

Deadline: +1 year after actual semester

Requirements:
  • It must contain some coding
  • It must be new
  • It must contribute to science
  • It must attract Uni teachers

My current preference is solo. I want it to be crypto releated and somehow useful for my own self.

I had a crypto related healthcare-analysis this semester. I also had a non-crypto project about IT supported IT recovery.

Somehow, I should combine them into a good idea.

The reason I put this into this section is because I want to find a project I can find profitable even after degree.

What should I develop? Please be short and to-the-point! I will contact you in private to discuss the details if I like the idea.

Cryptocurrencies is just a part of the blockchain technology which has got the good features of implementation in all our industrial, service focused and other needs. So try to make something that already work in other coding get incorporated with the blockchain technology. Show the efficiency between the two describing the advantages.

Some people wear bracelets containing their medical data & history for use in case they have a medical emergency.

Someone could probably build something similar using a blockchain, where data is carried in a person's cell phone or can be accessed remotely.

Don't know if its a good idea or bad idea, but there ya go.

Nowadays every cryptocurrency is developed on the basis of blockchain technology, today Bitcoin become popular only because of blockchain technology only, as you mentioned both crypto related and non-crypto related ( nowadays blockchain is implemented by many banks, so it is not related to cryptocurrency).

In 1995, I did "file recovery" as my degree project for win OS to recover permanently deleted files. But now we can find "undelete" functionality everywhere (thank you for getting me a chance to recall my college days).

You can think of bitcoin payment related stuff like enabling your local merchants to adopt bitcoin payments just by installing some patches to their existing software or api integration for internet shopping portals.

I like this idea. I too have heard about these bracelets, but never really seen anyone wearing it. Is it really in demand?

Now there is a new trend in healthcare - interfaces built, security improved...etc. Will we still need such storage in the new era?

Yeah this one is great and I want to add some. It will make you look high tech if you will include some unique QR code scanning for each of their data for fast retrieval.

With the storage, a microchip (I guess) probably will be needed for the sorting of it's data or else you can use cloud storage for it.

What do you think?

I'm clueless as to whether info bracelets are in demand. I think those are mostly useful in first responder cases where someone is in a car accident or needs emergency medical care. Not sure if ambulances or EMT's are equipped with that type of information on a portable basis where it could be useful.

In terms of healthcare, I think as many as 250,000 americans lose their lives each year due to medical errors. That's almost 8 times the number of casualties as guns or traffic accidents.

If there was a technology to cut down on those preventable deaths utilizing blockchain, that could be a killer app.

Another potential market could be cutting down on healthcare administrative costs or chargemaster price mark ups where hospitals routinely charge people $30 for a few q-tips that only cost 3 cents each. Blockchain powered software which reduced the cost of healthcare, or improved its efficiency would definitely be something people could get behind.

Can't say I really have any bright ideas as far as healthcare goes. But I hope that helps.

The idea is really interesting.
Demand creates supply. I would be interested in such a project.
