NameCoin is being left aside like its just a fun project for the developers. No real improvements worthy of being mentioned being added, coin only thrives on occasional pumps, no real usage, and the list goes on. Namecoin is number 40 on coincap right now, even way below something like dogecoin. It doesn't really have much of a future in my humble opinion and that it also doesn't have much actual use by anyone. If someone wants to buy the domain it could be used as a brand for something like a crypto friendly domain registrar but I can't think of any value out of it if it's being used or based on the namecoin crypto coin. For that reason I think 2 BTC is a fairly high price especially considering how much BTC has risen over the past weeks.
