Title: Getting most out of my XFX RX 480's with watt tool?
Post by: Jamievs on April 30, 2017, 05:59:56 PM
I am trying to get the best out of my RX 480's I have one rig with currently rx 480's. Monday I get 6x 580 so untill AMD fixes their drivers stuff the 480's rig will get one or 2 580's too so flashing bios is not an option due to driver check. I need the latest drivers for 580 support.

The next best option seems to be watt tool but the profiles I can find are extremely limited. I actually just found one (https://us.v-cdn.net/5021640/uploads/editor/py/ls9nfopb6mrg.jpg). But when I used this one my hash rate dropped from a stable 23.5 mh/s / 470 mh /s (I am dual mining) to 18mh/s / 260 mh's. Is anyone able to help me get the most of my RX 480's? In case it is relevant, I do have samsun memorey.

You need to look at your bios to understand how it works. There is one set of ram timings from 1750 - 1900, another from 1900 - 2000 and another post 2000.
By using the watttool profile you posted above, you are pushing your card into the territory of the memory timings for 2000+ mhz and those are the worst timings on a card.
In the profile you have, check speeds at memory speed 1749, and then at 1899. These are the two peaks that you can hit. Stay on whichever gives you maximum hash.

Thanks a lot for your answer!

the 1749 or 1899 values you mentioned, do I put one of those in the memory field where the screenshit has 2080 as value?
