Hi Guys,

Frustrated by the lack of currency converters/calculators that included a wide range of fiat and cryptocurrencies, I decided to build my own! Hopefully it can be useful for you too.

Convert ANY Currency - Okay, not any, but close to! :P It includes over 210 cryptocurrencies and 40 fiat currencies

Live Updating Stats - The backend pushes data to the converter as soon as there is a price update, so you know the prices are accurate

Selectable Price Sources - Choose your preferred exchanges to ensure the prices are most accurate for you

Shareable URLs - For example, by using the URL below, you can easily show someone the current value of 9 Golem in Euros


Verifiably Accurate - By clicking on the "Show Math" panel you can view the intermediary calculations to ensure the results you are seeing are correct


Building this was no easy feat for me, so I would love it if you guys could try it out and let me know what you think!

thanks for doing this. i have been looking for something convenient to use like this one. just a small suggestion. can you enlarge the field where you enter the number of coins? it increases size after you have entered several decimals but at the start you could not see clearly all the digits

Are you using a browser that's not Chrome or Firefox?

I found there was an input field resizing issue on Edge and Safari, but it turned out to be complicated to fix and ~90% of my traffic is either Chrome or Firefox so I forgot about it till now ;D Sorry bout that

I'm using Safari but have no complaints about the input field size. It could be better, but it could be worst  ;)

im using chrome. its resizes after you pause typing digits. i think its fine. i just prefer it to be a big field right away so i can see clearly coz the number of digits can be confusing sometimes. you can also put a place where people can add coins. please add XRB and lunyr. thanks again

That is a really nice conversion website dude, I wish I could develop this level of client-side code, works smoothly and easily.

Ahhh I gotcha. Yeah I originally wanted to make the input side bigger, but you can type into either side so I thought that wouldn't make sense. Maybe I could make the animation quicker for the size you're typing into..

Great job! It would be awesome if you could add support for any coin from coinmarketcap.com, which would be very nice because it has more coins than just polo/bittrex (including coins that are just days old, no volume limit), and averages several exchanges. But overall nice as an altcoin preev.

Thanks! I had to do most of it client side because I've only got a tiny 1 core 2 GB VPS to run the entire site :p

Clientside is better anyways for this kind of websites. OVH sells pretty cheap VPSes if you need a new one  ;)

What's the reason the price you show for Bitcoin is lower than Preev and BitcoinAverage?

The BTC/USD market price is normally calculated as a weighted average (based on daily volume) between Bitfinex, Bitstamp and BTCe. Because Bitfinex is having banking issues I removed it from the average calculation, causing the average to be much lower than preev which still includes Bitfinex.

Right now BTCe is trading at ~$50 lower than Bitstamp which pulls the average down. BTCe didn't have such a large effect when Bitfinex was used because it has by far the most volume. I'll be adding more exchanges very soon to improve the accuracy.

Well i would generally be all like  "what the hell, THIS ISN"T A COIN ANN"  , but damn, that's quite a handy tool, and although i already have other tools, yours is quite clean and modern looking, might have to see what's up here, maybe use this/recommend this one haha, cool man, good job! :)

Also, LOVE the GPU section, look forward to seeing that evolve :)

That's funny I only made the GPU info page to explain some of the profitability calculations on the landing page, but I actually get a lot amount of traffic there. I might have to expand it, super bare bones right now!

Do you have plans for Android widgets too on this, since you already process the data?

Whoaa an Android app or widget would be a good idea, that would be a big undertaking for me though because I suck at java and xml layouts. Definitely worth considering though

Why don't you make a donation address for development?Seeing the interest here I'm pretty sure you could get some donations for the development of the project.Make it a community project.I'll join you and Im sure others would follow.You have a great idea here.Just always be open and transparent and Post the donation link and block explorer link to the donation address and you should have no problems.Seeing that you're, not a noob account and you're active and friendly should provide a bit of trust.Just my two cents.

PS: A widget that one could add to a website would be super useful.I would love to put this on the Crave community website.

Yeah not a bad idea at all. I'm looking to open source the whole site soonish, would be great to see if anyone would want to get involed. I just need to clean up my messy code, and maybe add some comments because currently there are none  ;D

A website widget is definitely do-able. Once I finish adding some more exchanges to the backend I'll look into how long that would take. Cheers

If you've taken a computer science class, they probably told you to comment more than you actually need to ;) 80% of open-source projects have very little commenting.

I've re-added Bitfinex back into the weighted average price calculation, it's price seems much less artificially inflated now.
