Title: Need help with MSIZ170-M5, not working with three on-board 1080Tis Post by: U253 on May 02, 2017, 11:11:57 PM hi, guys
I am wondering whether anyone got similar issue before. I have got MSI-Z170-M5, paired with G4400, as recommended by some bros here (saying working fine with 7 X 1080). I was playing it with two on-board 1070 very well. Now I have got a few 1080Tis, and risers are on the way. I tried to plugin 3 X 1080 Tis on board but only got two recognized no matter what I did. Then I replaced one 1080 Ti with 1080, and it's working. Really don't understand the difference between 3 X 1080 Tis vs 2 X 1080 Tis + 1 X 1070. Note that all my 1080 Tis should be ok as I have four on hands and already tested different combos. any feedback is really appreciated. :) :) :) Title: Re: Need help with MSIZ170-M5, not working with three on-board 1080Tis Post by: Elder III on May 02, 2017, 11:46:44 PM My first thought is that perhaps the greater tdp of the 1080 Ti might be preventing the motherboard from running 3 of them when plugged directly into it. If it works when your risers arrive then that would prove that possible theory.
Is it this motherboard that you have? https://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130873 Title: Re: Need help with MSIZ170-M5, not working with three on-board 1080Tis Post by: U253 on May 03, 2017, 12:07:00 AM My first thought is that perhaps the greater tdp of the 1080 Ti might be preventing the motherboard from running 3 of them when plugged directly into it. Yes I have this board (MSI-Z170-M5), while some one here earlier confirmed it's working with 7 X 1080, but that should be with risers. warm regards :) |
