Title: Mining LTC
Post by: KenR on May 04, 2017, 12:02:27 PM
I have negligible amount of electricity charges.
Have a nice gaming Computer Set-up with 32 gigabytes of RAM and 5 Terra-bytes of hard-disk.Planning to mine LTC.
I wish to know  if it is still profitable and if it does, how much can I make per 12 hours mining daily ?

I'm asking if at all it's possible.I know I have to depend on external miners but since my configuration is quite high and I can relatively set up other protocols easily on my system,I need to know if it's worth a try.

No. Try another algo/coin.

I can use couple of other node.js based bitcoin mining libraries which can run relatively well on machines with much less configuration but I'm looking a LTC specifically for obvious reasons. Thanks for your comment.

For much more obvious (ASIC) reasons stay away of sha256, scrypt, X11, X13, X15, quark, qubit algo coins.

Download Nicehash Miner and run the benchmarks. You'll get an idea what you can do.

Scrypt coins like Litecoin have not been profitable to mine with any GPU setup (you don't even mention your GPU, the HD and RAM don't MATTER) even with free electric for YEARS now.

You might want to look into the NiceHash miner.
