Hi there,

Like i said in the topic, i already make my searchs on my target Altcoins, 44 at all. So i gonna set my orders and buy them on differents exchanges tomorrow.

i plan to hold them between 2months to 2years, depends on best time to sell.

I wanna know the best way to keep them safe, like i read on differents topics, those exchanges can be hacked or closed by the FBI, so its a bad place to hold them.

For now i dont know how to handle that, those 44 Altcoins goes from shitty one listed on only one exchange to the big ones listed on poloniex.

Help me please, where to hold em safe? and how?

You'll need to get a wallet of each and/or check options of creating cold wallets.

How to get a wallet for each one, or a cold wallet. i want a very high level of protection for my investment.

Why not 10-20?

For now they are 42, i delisted 2. but i plan to invest on around at least 50 altcoin.

I think you'll gonna have tough time containing them. 44 alts is very hard to keep. That means 44 wallet needed to keep your altcoins. Each alts has different wallet. Just go for an exchange with good security like Poloniex. But its up to you. Cold storage and paperwallet. I think its good for you.

Lets say for exemple i buy Speedcash (SCS) Bitvolt (VOLT), how to make a cold wallet for those 2 altcoins?

If your hold period only starts from 2 months as you have mentioned, then it is alright if you keep them in your exchange I feel, because you would be able to sell them instantly when the price is right for you.
But if there are some coins that you know you're gonna wait for more than a year or up to two years, then you can withdraw them to your wallets.

44! That's just throwing a bunch of blind darts at a target in hopes that one hits a bullseye. Better to research and allocate the $4k to the altcoins you think have the best tech and future.

Yeah and it is not just throwing a bunch of blind darts at a target, it is a pain in the ass to store unless those altcoins are just tokens or a smart contract for example incent which is waves platform based. I think its better for you OP to lessen it since it would be hard storing them at 44 kinds of altcoin wallet at most if you don't want them to be in exchanges.

I have the time to handle that big number of altcoins, but i need the best approch.

If only there is a high secure wallet for all altcoins listed on coinmarketcap...

If you're going to install 44 blockchains on your machine you better use an old machine for the inferior crap because some of these coins can contain malware.
It's better to use at least two computers; one for the shitcoins and one for the established coins with histroy and communtiy behind them; which are the clean ones.
Don't think your antivir or even virsutotal could find all the malware; that's not the case.
If i were you i'd leave the shitcoins on exchange and only take the safe ones like LTC, DOGE and such to my own computer.

Also make sure your different computers don't communicate via your router. Disable netbios.

Asking here for advice how to create safe coldstorage is utter lazyness on your part. Can you not google? I think you're very likely to lose lots of your coins due to you not having the slightest idea what you're even doing. If i had as little knowledge as you have i'd stick to bitcoin.

I would pick 5-10 and spread it evenly there.

If you spread to thin, your profit will be less because you are bound to pick some crap up as well. Just go for the high profile coins.

Beware though, as I think we are nearing the top of the bubble.

the best option is to have it inside your computer, but 42 coins or 44 coins is a lot to store and male your device to slow down, better to place some of it inside exchange wallet those coins that you are planning to hold for just a month can be store inside exchange but better to make sure that the site
have a good reputation.

This thread reminds me of the proverb "a fool and his money are soon parted". 44 coins is beyond foolish. On top of that, most coins are in a bubble right now which means it's far more likely they will be worth a lot less in a few months. It's no wonder so many people lose money in crypto. Crypto is NOT like main stream stocks and bonds. It'd say it's even worse then penny stocks. The only time something is worth investing in for more than a month or 2, is if it has a track record where you know buying at a certain low price will net you a good profit in a few months. Anything else is just throwing your money away.

As for how to store it, there is only one real option and that's installing every single one of them. Once you've sync'd the blockchains and got the coins into your wallet, you can just backup the wallet and delete the software if you want.

Best time to sell might be after 2 minutes, or 2 hours or 2 days...before 2 months.
Or after 2 years.

I don't think its foolish to invest in 44 different small alts. Maybe the timing is bad as a huge rally already happened.

What boggles my mind: What makes you capable of choosing 44 good coins without even knowing how to store them  ::)? I'm really asking.

To "help" you further on your request: No one is giving you an "easy" guide on how to store 44 altcoins out of an exchange, because there simply is no easy way to do it. Keeping track of all the software and coins cold-stored is a full-time job for you. This is not remotely worth $4k and I'm not even factoring in the security issues others mentioned here. I'd keep them on the exchange to be honest.

Also, please share your list. We're interested :).

Did you try to choose a good altcoin? Have you tried to filtering it? It looks a bad decision to take all of the 44 coins.
You can't expect all of your coins will become successfull investment.

Dekstop wallet or hardware wallet.
That's the only way for you to keep your coins are safe.

If you don't know how to handle over 40 kinds of altcoins and why are you trying to do it?
My guess you have taken without try to determine the future of altcoin ( I mean you don't do a good analyzation)

Try to think for a twice about your decision.

why you don't just download their client and put them in a virtual machine or another computer? this is a safe bet for your altcoin, no one will touch them, just be aware of scam coin with virus in the client that could steal all the other coins, this si more dangerous than fbi seizing random exchange

Just buy top 10 coins by volume from poloniex and hold them for a month.
44 is too much

it depend, if he with buy he mean to invest a very few bitcoin, i could see these 44 coins to buy not a bad things, like you invest 0.01 in small very cheap altcoin, that can give you a return of 10x 1 out of 10 of those alt at least, if he is investing big, better to aim for strong altcoin yes i'm with you on this, i would do 10% of total investment in various cheap alt, and the other 90% on the 10 altcoin that you know are good and have real potential not pump and dump

Uh you have wallet's for more altcoins, but I don't use wallet for every coin. Like some other people I also hold some of my alts on poloniex and I think they have good protection. My amount there is a little more then 100 dollars, that isn't much, but I don't know would I keep there 4000 dollars. So if you are buying ltc, ETH, dash, lisk or some other big coin you can make wallet's for them, other coins keep on poloniex and problem solved. Good luck!

Yes i also think if poloniex is good for you to keep all your alts, but i think you can keep it in some places and not in one place. please find some storage place from now, whether it be exchange or desktop wallet etc, good luck!

Without commenting on the logic or rationale of your intent, the best advice we could possibly give you is to download and install each of those coin's individual wallets, make sure they each fully sync and you have the private keys to them.

Then withdraw all your coins. Backup each wallet and keep your private keys.

You're talking 2 months to 2 years, so paper wallets are probably better if you're buying significant amounts. Otherwise, I think desktop wallets you have control over are good enough

Maybe the better and surely easier option is that you buy ICNX (iconomi.net).

I suggest just focusing on 5-10 coins which YOU think have some potential in them.

Maintaining and following the price changes of 44 coins is extremely difficult + you might losing your investment in a lot of them (especially since there's a lot of pump and dump and other idiotic coins).

You need to download and install and download the blockchain of all those 40 as well.

For me that's just too much work.

Well, i invested 4.000$ on 19 coins listed on poloniex. i take advantage on the bug that happens causing a big dump on most all coins.

That`s not sure. I would not say that it would be better to stay in Fiat. Crypto is a good future investment.

Yes, this is a valuable suggestion. I find it the most informative and interesting among all. What if we use the same number of the coins but from the top 5 alt currencies? I guess it will be much easier to handle and also the risk of losing the investment will be less than that of the whole 44 different currencies. I guess this will be smart enough.

I think this could be a smart move. Just buy the 42 selected coins and leave them on the exchanges to start with.

If you see that some of them are rising big then you install the wallet on your local machine to be sure the exchange won't run away with your big money

My investment of about 4100$ on 18 Coins goes from 4100$ to 4440$ to about 3300$. now its on about 3500$.
At the same time after the second DDos attack i sold 3 positions in profit for about 1% and placed buy orders on ripple and stellar lumens, for those 2 i invest about 1.1btc in all. but now i know it was a mistake, i had to buy same ammout on the 18coins i listed in my picture before.

I read a lots of comments, about the bubble, and that 2days DDos attack...

What do you think about all coins in red? how many days it gonna take to return to a normal green situation on poloniex ?

I know the rule of : always buy low and sell high. is this rule accurate in this scenario too? i was thinking about what happend and my losses and come to the conclusion to apply this rule, so i'm holding.

I learned a lot on those 2days.

Like i said, gonna hold all my positions. Already i make sell orders for between x1.5 to x3.

After that i gonna use a new strategies.

Always Hold Between 30% to 50% in Bitcoin and dont touch it.

Bet on crypto that have a real tokens use in real world, so bubble or not bubble they gonna stay and always raise in value over the months, years.

Learn to buy and sell with whales, starting with about 1% of my bankroll for a months t'il i'm ok to raise it to 2% or 3%.

Bet around 5% max at all from my bankroll on different projects with x10 x30 x50.

And like i'm not a computer...  sometimes i gonna bet on big projects without any use, just to make some profit, after learning a lot about whales, but always with a conservative bankroll management.

Seriously, please post an update when your nestegg goes from your original $4,000 to $1,000. 

I think that the cryptocurrency members is growing day after day, the new members and the newbies one who doesnt get a fuck what was happening with DDos attack gonna put Bitcoins on market and gonna buy altcoins, the price gonna start to increase overall, then the traders gonna put money too on altcoins for the profit, some of them gonna set buy orders of 5% 10%.. next hours days, t'il 1week from now, all gonna be back like before if we dont have another DDos attacks.

All the crypto community is more mature now and they gonna be more mature in 1 week from now after the green light on most altcoins listed on poloniex, some of them gonna regret to not buying now, thats a huge possibility to make money right now.

Those who saids thats the end of good established coins or shitty coins are very wrong, because 3 big factor :

 1. the new members buying bitcoin to invest on other coins for a dream of becoming super rich.

 2. The wales who gonna take advantage of the new members, so putting buy sell orders everyday for always.

 3. the same emotionnal people who had set a sell panic orders after the attacks are not going to resist to    reinvest  on the other coins for a quick profit.

Go to this section and search one by one name of altcoin you have bought and find the thread download the officially wallet from that altcoin, if in 44 altcoin you bought have altcoin in ethereum platform (e.g Gnosis, GNT), you just download the ethereum wallet/mist and put all the altcoin which in Ethereum chain.
Why must 44 Altcoin, just 10-20 Altcoin you will earn profit if choose good altcoin.

You were warned by several of us that all coins are in a bubble right now and it was a foolish time to be buying thinking they were going to keep going up. A few little dumps over a day or 2 are meaningless right now. When the bubbles really pop, believe me, you're going to know it for a certainty.

It is true that if you really not careful with your investment you could loose a lot of money,day trading is the best thing i like in crypto currency just monitor all the exchanges or create a bot to monitor everything and look for which coin is having a rally and then enter the coin for the day and make some good profit,rather than investing in all the bubbled coins.

here is a comment from someone about the bubble, the big bubble that gonna crash all coins to near zero in value, to get back in a 5years situation back from now.

44 Altcoins is too big a bucket to manage in my own opinion and also carry a huge risk, also I will like to see those tokens in your portfolio

That's funny. I went and read his comments. He thinks Steem is a fantastic investment for one. He also says this "The vast majority of tokens are trash over there and will end 0: YES.
There will be huge volatility events with 50% more drawdowns: YES.
Using mean reversion algorithms prices are quite overvalued right now: YES.
There is a bubble and prices will be dropping for at least 4 months or more: NO."

So the person you're quoting is also saying that many of the altcoins are going to take a dump.

That last statement of his also shows his clear ignorance of this space as well. Again, I will point you to the Bitcoin bubble of 2014 where it hit it's first all time high (around $1200 I think it was) and then declined from there all the way to 2015 when it reached around 250 and it stayed down around there for much of the entire year. So neither you nor him have a clue what you're talking about. You seem to think crypto behaves like regular stocks etc and they simply do not.

For this we need to pick up the best exchanges and then the top alts but before deciding the alts numbering to be which one on the top we must first go through a little of the market survey.

It will make it easier for us to pick the correct alts so that can benefit us for the future.
