My PC config: GPU: MSI R9 280X 3GB CPU : Intel CPU i7-4770K 4.0 GHZ RAM: 24GB RAM 18000MHZ Motherboard:MSI Z97 Gaiming 7 Motherboard Cooler for processor only - normal one Can I mine ZCash / Monero with this config. It seems like your particular GPU can achieve a decent hashrate, altough it looks like it might not be the best one around... Could you please suggest any recommended GPU for $250 with better hash rate and which could be compatible with my motherboard as well. Like if I can go with multi R9 280X or like 2 GPU within the range of $250. Title: Re: What do you think about my PC configuration Post by: sikkan on May 09, 2017, 11:10:27 AM The motherboard seems extremely good for mining! you have 3 PCI-e x16 and 4 PCI-e 1x which makes it possible to install (if everything supports it, and it should) 7 GPUs with risers from the 1x slots :). possible you would need a 16x riser from the slot directly above the 1x slot. Anyhow, with a decent PSU you could install just about any of the radeon 7950/7970/7990, R9 280/280x or other higher end GPU. Nvidia cards too from the 9xx and/or 1000-series! :)

Can you please let me know more about risers. Absolutely! a riser is simply an adapter with a cable, making it possible to extend your GPUs away from the mobo, making it better to cool/make space.
