Title: How to check if my account was hacked?
Post by: Podgor on May 12, 2017, 04:08:17 PM
I'm looking for IP addresses that were used with my account.

Yesterday I see some messages in my email that are not in my inbox.

Today user accused me of stealing the money from him, even though I was offline.

You can't check this information and it isn't really confirmatory evidence.

If your email nor password has changed, then it is not easy to tell/prove this. If there have been outgoing messages that you did not sent, then it is highly likely that someone else logged into your account at some point. Change your password.

I bet admins have IP logs.
How can I contact them?

People think I'm a scammer now and I'm obviously not.

They have IP logs, and you can contact them by sending them a PM:
theymos (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=35)
Cyrus (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=78147)

As I've told you, IP logs are not adequate proof to know for sure. If they were, there would be nothing stopping someone from logging into their own account with a different IP, scamming someone and then logging back in with the old IP stating that they were hacked.

People think I'm a scammer now and I'm obviously not.

If you are not sure, reinstall your Operating System and then change your passwords everywhere including here.
Done, now you are safe, without checking what IP someone used on this or that account.

And obviously, if you suspect your account was compromised, you would want to change its password to prevent further access by anyone who has the password.

I did that right after I noticed strange activity.

Are you sure? From what I see your password was not changed recently.
And this doesn't look good for your credibility....

PS. When you'll actually change your password, changing your e-mail password would be also a good idea.

I dont think that what OP is telling is true, because if anyone hacks a account and dont do anything is not digestible, because someone hacked his account and scammed and now he is telling that someone hacked but did not changed anything on his account and he is not the scammer. What was he doing so many days before this accusations.

If any wrong activities were happening following your account, something like hackers try to access your account through gmail ID on your trust dashboard will appear password or Gmail making change recently recently. I would like to suggest you set your gmail ID with very strong, 2-Step Verification to safe in future.
