Title: Transaction unconfirmed
Post by: xskl0 on May 14, 2017, 08:36:26 AM
My Bitcoin transaction still unconfirmed since yesterday and I paid a fee of 120sat/bit. Yesterday later I did other transaction that was confirmed in 1 hour (same fee). How many time can it still unconfirmed?

There are too many transactions in the memepool, what does this mean to you? Blocks have max size of 1mb ,block come  aprox every 10min (so basically miners can include transactions aprox around 1-3k depending on the size of the transaction). At this moment there are around 120k unconfirmed transactions around 96.088MB which is huge having in mind that more are coming in every second and that some get confirmed.

There is a tool that might be handful here, go to this website and enter your transaction ID : https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/
What will this do? ViaBtc is a mining pool so by doing this they will try to include your transaction in the next block that they successfully mine. It is all free of charge. Hope this helps :)

Tips:

-If you really need it confirmed quickly, you could use an accelerator (https://www.viabtc.com/tools/txaccelerator/), or even a paid accelerator (https://pushtx.btc.com/#/).

-I assume you're using the Blockchain wallet.  Just go to "Advanced Send" and you can customise your fees.  Because so many people send transactions with that same kind of fee, just a little bit more (https://bitcoinfees.21.co/) can go a long way.  Alternatively, just stop using the Blockchain wallet and use a wallet with proper fee estimation (https://electrum.org/#home).

Pay around 180s/220s p/TX and it will probably be confirmed in the next block, that's my experience. Like other people said, if you use blockchain, just send a little more then what is required to get into the first block, and you should be good.

Transactions with low fees at the moment will either confirm overnight, or not at all.

Here you can see how many tx are waiting to be confirmed, https://blockchain.info/charts/mempool-size

And here is the avg fee for current tx's. https://bitcoinfees.21.co/

Noone knows, its quite random if some miner will include it in block with his own algorithm or not.
Even fee isn't key factor sometimes, just have patience.
