Did electrum take 50% in fees?

If NiceHash paid today, It means that they sent you the funds to Electrum, Its the sender who pay the fees and not the receiver. It has nothing to do with Electrum. You should check the transaction ID and see how much $ is involved in the transaction (including the fees) andI doubt they paid that much unless they made a stupid algorithm for calculating fees.

Yeah, the receiver never pays the fess, unless NiceHash is deducting fees from your account when they send to you. That wouldn't be Electrum's fault of course :P

You can see the amount of fees on a transaction by viewing it in a blockchain explorer such as blockchain.info to verify how much the fee was.

why are you even seeing the numbers in USD!
this is a bitcoin forum, and you are using bitcoin and electrum is a bitcoin wallet and doesn't show you USD values (unless you add something to it which i don't think you did). and the miner also pays you in bitcoin not USD.
so please check the BTC value of your transactions and report back. i am sure your confusion will be solved.
