For Windows you should place the cachecoin.conf file in the %AppData%\cachecoin folder.
For Linux the you should place the cachecoin.conf file in the $HOME\.cachecoin folder.

Both of the above folders will be created automatically when you launch your wallet the first time.

The contents of the cachecoin.conf should be:

Code:
rpcuser=<username>
rpcpassword=<password>
rpcallowip=192.168.*.*
rpcallowip=127.0.0.1
rpcport=2224
port=2225

addnode=193.136.97.30
addnode=193.136.96.30
addnode=207.30.158.106

Proof Of Stake Info
CACHeCoin utilizes Proof-of-Stake (POS) mining that generates more CACHeCoins when you retain your coins for 7 days. When the coins from a
particular transaction become 7 days old, they will be used by your wallet to perform Proof-of-Stake mining that will generate new coins if you solve
the block.  Just like a normal Proof-of-Work block, these POS blocks require 520 confirmations.  Once the POS block has reached 520 confirmations, your staked coins and the reward will be made available again in your wallet.  These coins will then be required to age another 7 days before they can be used in POS mining. The PoS is not very CPU intense and there's no need to set anything in order to mine PoS. It's done automatically.

It is important to note that when your coins are staked (reach 7 days of age and are used for a POS block), these coins will be owned by you but
unavailable to transfer until they are fully confirmed.

For those who want to exclude a certain amount of coins from Proof-of-Stake mining, you can run the client with the -reservebalance
argument. This argument allows you to specify a certain amount of coins to withhold from using as a stake.

CACHe PROOF-OF-STAKE GETTING STARTED
By default, out-of-the-box, the wallet will submit coins for staking (refer to above for how this works). If you opt to encrypt your wallet (this is strongly advised) then staking will stop - as encrypting the wallet means no coins can be sent without entering a passphrase. If you opt not to encrypt your wallet (do so at your own risk) then staking will work fine, out of the box, with no extra configuration needed. There however is the ability in the CACHe wallet to "unlock" the wallet - keeping it encrypted and allowing coins to be staked.

"Unlocking" the wallet allows coins to be sent and received for the purpose of staking. Unlocking the wallet is not the same as decrypting the wallet - as the wallet passphrase must still be entered to send coins to another wallet (as per normal if you encrypt any cryptocoin wallet). Unlocking the wallet allows coins to stake whilst keeping your coins safe.

To unlock your wallet, enter this command in the CACHeCoin QT wallet client debug console located under help menu:
Code:
walletpassphrase thisismypassphrase 99999999 true

Replace "thisismypassphrase" with your encrypted wallet passphrase. This will unlock your CACHe wallet for staking for 1157 days (99999999 seconds = 1157 days). Upon restarting your client you will need to re-enter this command, as it is not saved.

By entering this command and having your wallet encrypted, you will be able to stake your coins whilst having a properly encrypted CACHe wallet.

To solo mine using the wallets, you can add gen=1 to the cachecoin.conf file. You can also enable solo mining in a wallet by going into the debug console
and entering setgenerate true or issuing that command via a RPC connection. Due to the coin's current difficulty, it is not suggested that you solo mine this coin at this time. Instead you earn more coins by contributing your computer's hash power to a pool.

As this coin is uses the Scrypt-Jane algorithm, you will need to use a miner that supports it. When mining with scrypt-jane miners that do not have presets for CACHeCoin, you will need to use the following parameters:

Code:
nfMin = 4
nfMax = 30
nTimeStamp = 1388949883

Supported miners include:

CudaMiner

CudaMiner is a miner developed and optimized for Nvidia cards that has built-in CACHeCoin mining support.

Example CudaMiner command:
Code:
cudaminer32.exe --algo=scrypt-jane:CACH -o http://p2cache.syware.de:8336/ -u <your cachecoin addres> -p x

Windows Binaries can be found in the first post of the CudaMiner topic. For those using Linux, you will need to compile from source.

CGminer

Robert Davidson has taken version 3.7.2 of the popular CGminer and patched it include support for scrypt-jane.

Example CGminer command:
Code:
cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388949883 -o http://p2cache.syware.de:8336/ -u <your cachecoin addres> -p x

You can download CGminer with Scrypt-Jane from the url: https://sites.google.com/site/rmdavidson/.
The recommended Windows download is:  https://sites.google.com/site/rmdavidson/cgminer-3.7.2-sj-0.02.zip?attredirects=0

Is this coin miningable in the CPU? Without premine, it's even interesting, but it's a common currency.

I would suggest you to wait a couple of days - we are changing POW algo. At the moment Nfactory 18 is quite difficult to mine.
In coming days we will update and publish all necessary info. At the same time we will provide the updates to Pools, so they will setup and open for miners.
We apologize for such a delay, but we do our best to make it asap.

Right, you need to install the wallet if you wish to solo mine until we fix the POW algo and add to Pools.
Personally, I didn't mine since 2015. I also have AMD GPU and could check in the evening.

And is there any whitepaper? To know a little bit more what is this coin even about.

Start command prompt - (more easy way - put files of cgminer to the folder that command prompt shows)
copy to command prompt the following command: cgminer.exe --scrypt-jane --sj-nfmin 4 --sj-nfmax 30 --sj-time 1388949883 -o 127.0.0.1:2224/ -u user -p 12345 and enter - it should start the process

Have you restarted your wallet after you changed the cachecoin.conf?
Solo mining: mining to your wallet (during the mining process the wallet has to be online, means your cgminer connects to blockchain through your wallet). Your wallet could have as many address as you wish.

Hello,

- What is the technology used for anonymity?
- If it's a new bitcointalk. What is the old thread?
- What are the technical features of Cachecoin?

I do not see what makes Cachecoin interesting.

This is not an unnecessary criticism.

If you can answer my questions seriously, and tell me what makes Cachecoin deserves more recognition or interest, I want to keep up with the news of this piece ..

Thanks in advance,

Btw what is the actual value of a coin? Its hard to see real value when there is actually no trading volume. At start of coinexchange list it was 0.00098btc one day after  up to 0.03 and now at 0.00003500 btc.  Due to low volume its impossible to sell it or buy it and not rising dropping price 2x,3x. Is it worth buying at current price? Or is it better to wait for some bigger exchange so we get some real value. I was thinking about getting some.

The developing team is working, not trading. People invest in coin to get profit later. Some sell their old coin now, some are waiting for the news and developments. It's up to you to buy now or wait higher price:)
Our aim to bring to the market new developments in crypto currency.

Just for the info: the POS minting is working fine and do not need special technical requirements. I could see from the block explorer that most of CACH holders use their coins for the stake and generating new coins by the wallet.

So that means that the project was taken over by a new team?

Do you have a community slack?

And last question, how will the project be financed? By your own funds?

Thank you for your lighting! ;)

thanks for the response.
we will keep following. we just bought a lot of coins basically on poloniex exchange and bitfinex because we invest millions of $ and we need liquidity. but we are looking to invest and searching in coins like CACH and other low marketcap coins on their early stages, that have a nice upside potential.
we understand that this token/app price was over 0.006 back in 2014. is this true?
one more question, is this token/app going to be on exchanges like poloniex or bitfniex in the future or any other exchanges that have larger daily volume? thank you

Yes! Today Cryptopia has to add it. We are planning to go to Bittrex as well. Our main developer will get his diploma of doctor in June and will work more hard with Cachecoin developments. Since 2015 he was busy with his study and passed it to other developer, but it was unsuccessful.
Now, we wish to build the project almost from the beginning with fresh ideas.

No, I didn't find any block. I just tried during the night. I didn't have time to check all setting - planning to do it today evening.
Concerning rename - at the moment we do not plan to rename Cachecoin because we have to do a lot of other things.

Btw what is the point of this coin? For example ethereum brings smart contracts, monero and zcash brings anonymity,XRP brings fast transfers and extra low fess and is trying to work with banks, bitcoin was well... the first.

I see that will offer anon payments. Bought it with 0.5 BTC. With so active people it should go far :)

XRP - Can not be mined and premined 100%
zcash - Does not guarantee anonymity

I hope that Cach will be the most anonymous and there will not be some copy like leaky PiVx

You are right! Our developer checked the algo of all main coins with anonymity and said that it's maximum 25-30% what they could hide ( that is only for the marketing). Our anonymity would be not less than the main market coins could offer ( I don't want to mention any name of coins).

Our developer has some ideas how to go one step further in this question.

there is only 3,6m coins currently and for monero there are 14m. with same marketcap 1 cache would be worth 200$ to be same as monero :D But yeah it will take tome, even 1$ would be massive, holding for few years will sure make it great :)

Some info for the new members of Cachecoin:
Since we have not prepared the White papers of the Cache Project – I wish to introduce our developer Kalgecin who will make all changes to the current version of Cachecoin.

Kalgecin speaks English, Swahili and Russian.
He is professional in programming: Python, SQL, PHP, PERL, RUBY, C++, C, C-SHARP, VISUAL BASIC, OBJECTIVE-C, JAVA and JAVASCRIPT.

In 2014 he put aside the project because of his schooling: the priority was his studies and completing his Doctorate in Mathematics.
In the year 2015 – his work was continued by another developer which was unable to finish the work, so the project had temporary success before hiatus.

In May 2017 – a new team came to an agreement with Kalgecin to continue the development of Cachecoin. During the past few years kalgecin noticed a lot of weak points in BTC algo and most of alts as they are forked from btc or ltc. Most of current coins were copied and didn’t give any proper refactoring, clean code, or were not object oriented.

We decided to continue the work with Kelgecin as he is man of honor. He would never break his agreements. The project team is a group of friends and believe in:
If you want to do something right do it yourself!
We won't tell you to buy or not to buy CACH – it should be 100% your decision, each has its own head, we all know about Crypto Whales which could make the price quickly high and 1-2 days low, but you have to understand that all real and serious projects needs development in time. For them the current price is a bargain comparing with the price of year 2015 and 2016 when the project was out of development, but it also good time for new people who want to come into the project right now!

In June our developer will be Dr. Kalgecin and exceed your expectations.

Always with you Alex (moderator of Cachecoin)
Quote
NB! Here is brief information about our developer's diploma:
«Random Number Generation»

INTRODUCTION

A random number generator is a computational or physical device that is used to generate a sequence of numbers or symbols that cannot be reasonably predicted better than by a random chance. Various applications of randomness have led to the development of several different methods of generating random data, of which some existed since ancient times, including dice, coin flipping, shuffling of cards, etc. Because of the mechanical nature of these techniques, generating a large amount of sufficiently random numbers requires a lot of work and/or time. Thus, results would sometimes be collected and distributed as a random number tables. Nowadays, after the advent of computational random number generators, a growing number government run lotteries, and lottery games, are using RNGs (Random Number Generators) instead of more traditional drawing methods. Ideally, a random number generator produces results that cannot be duplicated by means other than pure luck. That is, the random number generator should always produce different results for a large sequence of numbers even if the input conditions and parameters are the same. Several computational methods exist for generating random numbers. Many fall short of the goal of true randomness, although they may meet, with varying success, some statistical test for randomness intended to measure how unpredictable their results are. However, carefully designed cryptographically secure computationally based methods of generating random numbers do exist, such as those based on Yarrow algorithm and the Fortuna and others.

Practical Application and uses

Random numbers have many applications in science, art, statistics, cryptography, gaming, gambling and other fields. For example, random assignment in randomized controlled trials can help scientists test hypothesis fairly without any favoring, and random numbers and pseudo random numbers are often used in games like poker to ensure a fair game. In politics, especially ancient Greece, administration was in the hands of the people, those people were randomly selected and changed regularly. In science, random numbers have uses in physics, such as electronic noise studies, engineering, and operations research. Many methods of statistical analysis, such as bootstrap method, require random numbers. Monte Carlo methods in physics and computer science require random numbers. Random numbers are often used in parapsychology as a test of precognition. Statistical practice is based on statistical theory, which is, itself, based on the concept of randomness. Many elements of statistical practice depend on randomness via random numbers. Where those random numbers fail to be actually random, any subsequent statistical analysis may suffer may suffer from systematic bias. Elements of statistical practice that depend on randomness include: choosing a representative sample, disguising the protocol of a study from a participant and Monte Carlo simulation. Many experiments in physics rely on a statistical analysis of their output. For example, an experiment might collect X-Rays from an astronomical source and then analyze the result for periodic signals. Since random noise can be expected to appear to have faint periodic signals embedded in it, statistical analysis is required to determine the likelihood that the detected signal actually represents a genuine signal. Such analysis methods require the generation of random numbers. If the statistical method is extremely sensitive to patterns in the data (such as those used to search for binary pulsars), very large amounts of data with no recognizable pattern are needed. In many scientific and engineering fields, computer simulations are of real phenomenon are commonly used. When real phenomena are affected by unpredictable process, such as radio noise or day-to-day weather, these processes can be simulated using random, or pseudo random numbers. Automatic random number generators were first constructed to make computer simulations of physical phenomena, notably the simulation of neutron transport in nuclear fission. Pseudo-random numbers are frequently used in simulation of statistical events, a very simple example is the tossing of a coin. More complicated examples include simulation of population genetics, or the behavior of sub-atomic particles. Such simulation methods, often called stochastic methods, have many applications in computer simulation of real-world processes.
A ubiquitous use of unpredictable random numbers is in cryptography which underlies most of the schemes which attempt to provide security in modern communications (e.g., confidentiality, authentication, electronic commerce, etc.). For example, if a user wants to use an encryption algorithm, it is best that they select a random number as the key. These numbers must have high entropy (i.e., unpredictability) to any attacker, thus increasing attack difficulty. With low entropy numbers used as keys (i.e., relatively easily guessable by attackers), security is likely to be compromised. To illustrate, imagine if a simple 32 bit linear congruential pseudo-random number generator of the type supplied with most programming languages is used as a source of keys. There will only be some four billion possible values produced before the generator repeats itself. A suitably motivated adversary could simply test them all; this is practical since the computing power of around 2010, using readily available computers in modern day, it is even faster. Even if a linear congruential RNG is used with 1000-bit parameters, it is a simple exercise in linear algebra to recover the modulus m, and the constants a and b, where x' = ax +b (mod m), given only five consecutive values. Even if a better random number generator is used, it might be insecure (i.e., its starting value, the seed might be guessable), producing predictable keys and reducing security to nil. (A vulnerability of this sort was famously discovered in an early release of Netscape Navigator, forcing the authors to quickly find a source of "more random" random numbers.) For these applications, truly random numbers are ideal, and very high quality pseudo-random numbers are necessary if truly random numbers, such as coming from a hardware random number generator, are unavailable. Truly random numbers are absolutely required to be assured of the theoretical security provided by the one-time pad — the only provably unbreakable encryption algorithm. Furthermore, those random sequences cannot be reused and must never become available to any attacker, which implies a continuously operable generator. Venona for example, is an example of what happens when these requirements are violated when using a one-time pad.
For cryptographic purposes, one normally assumes some upper limit on the work an adversary can do (usually this limit is astronomically sized). If one has a pseudo-random number generator whose output is "sufficiently difficult" to predict, one can generate true random numbers to use as the initial value (i.e., the seed), and then use the pseudo-random number generator to produce numbers for use in cryptographic applications. Such random number generators are called cryptographically secure pseudo-random number generators, and several have been implemented (for example, the /dev/urandom device available on most Unixes, the Yarrow and Fortuna designs, server, and AT&T Bell Laboratories "truerand")[1]. As with all cryptographic software, there are subtle issues beyond those discussed here, so care is certainly indicated in actual practice. In any case, it is sometimes impossible to avoid the need for true (i.e., hardware-based) random number generators.
Since a requirement in cryptography is high entropy, any published random sequence is a poor choice, as are such sequences as the digits in an irrational number such as the φ or even in transcendental numbers such as π, or, e. All are available to an enterprising attacker. Put another way, in cryptography, random bit streams need to be not only random, but also secret and hence unpredictable. Public or third-party sources of random values, or random values computed from publicly observable phenomena (weather, sports game results, stock prices), are almost never cryptographically acceptable. Their use may be tempting, but in reality, they permit easier attacks than attacking the cryptography.
Since most cryptographic applications require a few thousand bits at most, slow random number generators serve well—if they are actually random. This use of random generators is important; many informed observers believe every computer should have a way to generate true random numbers

Current Methods / Physical Methods

The earliest methods for generating random numbers, such as dice, coin tossing and roulette wheels, are still used today, mainly in games and gambling as they tend to be too slow for most applications in statistics and cryptography. A physical random number generator can be based on an essentially random atomic or subatomic physical phenomenon whose unpredictability can be traced to the laws of quantum mechanics. Sources of entropy include radioactive decay, thermal noise, shot noise, avalanche noise in Zener diodes, clock drift, the timing of actual movements of a hard disk read/write head, and radio noise. However, physical phenomena and tools used to measure them generally feature asymmetries and systematic biases that make their outcomes not uniformly random. A randomness extractor, such as a cryptographic hash function, can be used to approach a uniform distribution of bits from a non-uniformly random source, though at a lower bit rate. Various imaginative ways of collecting this entropic information have been devised. One technique is to run a hash function against a frame of a video stream from an unpredictable source. Lavarand used this technique with images of a number of lava lamps. HotBits measures radioactive decay with Geiger–Muller tubes[2], while Random.orguses variations in the amplitude of atmospheric noise recorded with a normal radio. Another common entropy source is the behavior of human users of the system. While people are not considered good randomness generators upon request, they generate random behavior quite well in the context of playing mixed strategy games. Some security-related computer software requires the user to make a lengthy series of mouse movements or keyboard inputs to create sufficient entropy needed to generate random keys or to initialize pseudorandom number generators.

Computational Methods

Pseudorandom number generators (PRNGs) are algorithms that can automatically create long runs of numbers with good random properties but eventually the sequence repeats (or the memory usage grows without a bound). The series of values generated by such algorithms is generally determined by a fixed number called a seed. One of the most common PRNG is the linear congruential generator, which uses the recurrence, (2.1)
to generate numbers, where a, b and m are large integers, and   is the next in X as a series of pseudo-random numbers. The maximum number of numbers the formula can produce is the modulus, m. To avoid certain non-random properties of a single linear congruential generator, several such random number generators with slightly different values of the multiplier coefficient a can be used in parallel, with a "master" random number generator that selects from among the several different generators.
A simple pen-and-paper method for generating random numbers is the so-called middle square method suggested by John von Neumann. While simple to implement, its output is of poor quality. Most computer programming languages include functions or library routines that provide random number generators. They are often designed to provide a random byte or word, or a floating point number uniformly distributed between 0 and 1. The quality i.e. randomness of such library functions varies widely from completely predictable output, to cryptographically secure. The default random number generator in many languages, including Python, Ruby, R, IDL and PHP is based on the Mersenne Twister algorithm and is not sufficient for cryptography purposes, as is explicitly stated in the language documentation. Such library functions often have poor statistical properties and some will repeat patterns after only tens of thousands of trials. They are often initialized using a computer's real time clock as the seed, since such a clock generally measures in milliseconds, far beyond the person's precision. These functions may provide enough randomness for certain tasks (for example video games) but are unsuitable where high-quality randomness is required, such as in cryptography applications, statistics or numerical analysis. Much higher quality random number sources are available on most operating systems; for example /dev/random on various BSD flavors, Linux, Mac OS X, IRIX, and Solaris, or CryptGenRandom for Microsoft Windows. Most programming languages, including those mentioned above, provide a means to access these higher quality sources.

From a probability distribution

There are a couple of methods to generate a random number based on a probability density function. These methods involve transforming a uniform random number in some way. Because of this, these methods work equally well in generating both pseudo-random and true random numbers. One method, called the inversion method, involves integrating up to an area greater than or equal to the random number (which should be generated between 0 and 1 for proper distributions). A second method, called the acceptance, involves choosing an x and y value and testing whether the function of x is greater than the y value. If it is, the x value is accepted. Otherwise, the x value is rejected and the algorithm tries again. [3]

By humans

Random number generation may also be performed by humans, in the form of collecting various inputs from end users and using them as a randomization source. However, most studies find that human subjects have some degree of non-randomness when attempting to produce a random sequence of e.g. digits or letters. They may alternate too much between choices when compared to a good random generator, [4] thus, this approach is not widely used.

Results

Using a proof of concept implementation, we implemented a simple implementation of the idea using the JAVA programming language. The results proved to be what was expected, different result when using same variables.

Conclusion

From the results we got, we can conclude that it is possible to generate random numbers without using any specialized hardware. The method shown here would only work as long as the race condition is possible. For example, on a single core device, with an operating system that does not support multithreading, or an operating system that executes one thread fully at a time, this method would fail. But those kinds of setups are very uncommon, any average computer nowadays has multicore CPU and has an operating system that schedules the threads amongst those cores, which would allow the method to work.

Hi!

Referring to the current difficulty Nfactor 18 - it's very difficult to mine in solo, especially by GPU (need of 8gb memory). I tried with my GPU R9 280x, but without success.
Today, our member of Cachecoin is setting up a P2P Pool (that is working with CPU). I hope that we could finalize with the tests during today-tomorrow and will open it for everybody.
In the beginning of next week our developer will defense his degree and starts with realization of Roadmap!
Planning to start testing of modified POW algo in the end of next week.

I will keep you informed.

The low hashrate is only a bug in stats and the fees are to support this project. I restore this project after crypsy goes offline and nobody use the network and I fight against vertone hard fork  ;) and there is no obligation to use the pool if the fees to high for you.

the solutions from cach.digger.work are too fast or in other words too light. it is not so good if the hashing power is centralidzed. Large miners could operate as solo miner, it's better for the Network.

The goal is to dissect and correct bugs and errors in design of the base crypto coin. This is a very ambitious project, moving to pure java with object oriented programming, cleanly coded and ready for the future. The point of it all is to make it versatile, like the coins with scaling issues we have experienced in the past few years we want to eliminate these issues and prepare for the future.

Do you get any error message or the wallet just terminates without any error message? You can maybe try to re-sync the chain.

Hmm ... Yesterday I lost 75% of the revenue due to the orphan blocks on cach.digger.work. It's terrible!

Why is this difficulty chosen for ikarus? This is suitable only for very powerful systems. There are no statistics on blocks in the form of a table. Commission 5% - this is a lot, the pool will not be popular!

520 blocks for confirmation ... Exotics ...

The difficulty of the Cachecoin network is the same in every pool.
The pool has a bug showing incorrect data. Don't stress in 520 blocks your reward will be transferred to your wallet address.
Member+1 could answer you more precise
We are working to add some more Pools.
Moreover, as it was mentioned before our developer will publish an update for POW algo by the end of this week.

I understand what Aquazi is saying, like yes we can do all that clean coding stuff, which is valid but what else does it offer people, the community. What services will it bring along that adds value, and worth putting my down for. I'm definitely looking forward and looking at it on a positive note despite the many questions.

So I'd like to put my time forward to build up the community; not just here on this board but also on reddit, even redesign or touch up the logo/website. And completing move across to https://cachecoin.io - of course i will need the contents.

Let me know if you're interested dev.

We know everyone will always want more information on every projects plans, at the moment the cost of cach is low and you can mine it if you so desire. We want to allow early entry by as many users as possible.

While it was discussed earlier, I want to reiterate that this is a large project. We are going to combine the best features we have seen produced for coins over the past 5 years.

Would it not be nice to be able to install the same wallet into your PC, Browser or Phone? No learning curve for the uninitiated. That same application will still be decentralized but add functions that are sought after by users.

Messaging anonymously across the network decentralized is semi developed for some coins, this will be added instead of just the freenode that is currently in the wallet.

Simplified mining and staking systems, this will help new users to crypto.

Partnerships with national indian media/news and politicians to help with adoption, this portion has already been arranged.

Kalgecin's newly invented seed generation system (just completed peer review) that is software generated without user interaction necessary. TRNG (True Random Number Generation) is always created through hardware or user interaction. This is the first software TRNG without any need for user interaction. This has massive implications into how futureproof the coin can be.

We have other features lined up, but if you have suggestions now would be the time to add them. And please give them serious thought from a technical perspective. This is just the beginning. Remember this project was started years ago, a lot of work was put into it that was never implemented and now that Kalgecin has the time....all the old work, features, ideas that were just outlined before are being written into the wallet.

Please do not be dismissive of the concept of a rewrite into clean object oriented code. This has a huge advantage for any features we want to add.

Rather than having to do a deep dive into code each time we touch a feature, we are able to tack them onto the wallet without a worry of it introducing a bug that effects all the other facets of the wallet.

There will be more to come. There is no ICO here or premine, the political partners and existing team members already have their coins they bought in anticipation. Everyone on the project is personally invested with time or funds.

Everyone here can plan on throwing their hat in the ring if they have something productive to add, even if your idea is outlandish we are entertaining them all as JAVA is far more versatile than most people realize.

I split the difficulty to various ports 0.001 upto 10 pls use the optimal port for your. approximatly 1share/30s is ok. the difficulty do not change your rewards over time, it is only a feedback for the user/miner!
ie: Miner 1 mines at 0.1 difficulty and finds 10 shares, the pool sees it as 1 share. Miner 2 mines at 0.5 difficulty and finds 5 shares, the pool sees it as 2.5 shares. (I use with 100-150Hash difficulty 1)

I hope this helps small miners.

520blocks is the ordinary block confirmitation number for this coin. The pool fees are to support the Project. The hashrate bug is fixed. it was only a issue with the decimal point. I activated an bannfilter for low-diff and invalid shares.

Could you please link to any technical explanations for the features, please keep it in mind that we do not keep track of each branded or renamed feature on other coins. It will help massively with regards to time if we can just look at the features on each link and then add them to the OP as links for a todo list.

Hi All,

Good to hear the "New" Dev finally got his Degree!

Cach coin is the first coin which i have successfully mined & have taken interest to know more since the beginning of its re-surrection

Felt good by seeing a rough guideline for the future of the Cachcoin, I am actively mining atm with my old hardware & also running the wallet.

I would like know how can we earn "some extra" cach coins by the POS method? May be a Noob Question, but i am catching up fast in terms of crypto knowledge.

Can any one be kind enough to provide step by step guidelines for the same!

POS minting:
1. You should have some CACH in the wallet
2. If your wallet not encrypted then after 7 days of staking - the wallet starts to generate new coins (when the wallet online).
When the wallet off-line - it counts your un-used coin and when you start the wallet next time it will be recalculated.
3. If your wallet is encrypted you have to do the following steps (to unlock your wallet):
3.1. go to wallet's menu => help => debug window =>console
3.2. write in the line of debug menu - walletpassphrase YourPasswordofWallet 99999999 true and press enter
NB! You should do the process of unlocking every time you restart the wallet!

The wallet will change the status of the lock in the bottom right corner.

I check this atm, the payment processor add your Balance to the database if the block confirmed. then I can see the Balance or I must calculated all Shares and so on. your Balance is now 69.44091054 + all Shares < 520 confirmations. Today I set the payout minimum to 100 because all these orphan blocks, this was a little bit complicated for the payout. in the evening I will reduce it to 1. I hope this works again.

cach.digger.work, the site is not reachable. maybe a lot disconnections or something like that. I check my pool every hour in this situations and I try to help the Network. No coins are lost on my pool but is it not easy.

When considering getting listed on Bittrex - https://bittrex.zendesk.com/hc/en-us/articles/202583854-Submitting-a-Coin-to-Bittrex

Besides all the plans in the works.

I believe we need a place for the cachecoin community whether that's a forum on the main website or reddit. The logo and website would likely need to be touched up and and most importantly the marketing.

yes because some miner use too low diff. Don't worry I mine with 1 on 30H/s (and my worst CPU had only 12H/s  ;D), it's only a visible Feedback for users and you do not lost your rewards over the time

The new pow with variable n factor has been committed. We are testing it now and will update everyone once certain it is working as intended. This is essentially a new type of pow and has not been done on other coins that we have seen before. This is one example of the type of quality innovation with which we are working. Not to mention it was done in only a few days. We suggest pool owners take a look at the git and familiarize themselves, its likely there will be 50 clones of this pow in new coins before next week.

I was mining yesterday and suddenly the site is down...
during the downtime you can use Ikarus. I add VarDiff on Port 3003 or you can use 3001 Diff 1 (minerd backward compatibility). all other ports shut down after a restart this evening, but I add 2% fees again because network is stable enough.

yes, you mine with a Diff of 0.01154746, that means you need arround 90shares per round to get 1 "real" share. But this is ok, the pool added your small Shares together over the time.  :) now you have one

Is the pool http://ikarus.ageleis.de/ reliable? I've been mining for over four hours and nothing has been sent to my Cryptopia wallet.

There it says that the payment is every hour !!!

First the digger.work that went out of the air without paying my mining, now this ikarus that also does not drop anything in the wallet.

The cachcoin is very poorly pool.

this is ok, a payment could only payout if your shares of your blocks have 520confirmations. if the Network ok, this takes up to 5Days! because the blocktime is 15min. (now it is faster because the Network is a Little bit unstable)
24h x 60min / 15min = 96blocks per day.
520blocks / 96 = 5,417days.

When shall the cach.digger.work be back online...
I have significant number of cach coins on it ...if it doesnt go back online its still ok but I need to get the coins in my local windows wallet.

Also i had kept two of my machines running on the cach.digger.work, they were working & i was generating around 20H/s.
I am wondering if the pool was down?? where were my block shares going...

Also as per the last reply i had around 70+ coins in orphans...any update on that please?

Thanks!

I have one question. Does this pow modification require hardfork. And what will be the benefits (changes) ?

Thank you very much

This was not answered.. I have the old code and an old wallet.. I need to know if it forked or not?

Also.. the exchanges should know.. remember what happened to cryptsy

The new wallets are working.
Today I informed Exchanges that 24.06.2017 we will implement a new POW algo. They will update their wallets for new version 5.4.

No one seems to respond to my queries!!  ??? ???

I had been mining on the cach.digger.work since last week. (When would this be up again)

I had around 340+ cach coins which were unconfirmed
around 70+ cach coins were stuck in Orphans
& around 120+ cach coins were confirmed for payment, now that its down I cannot get those cach coins out.

Please help me out on this!

Thanks!

I do not run any of the pools, you will have to speak to the pool owner.

Cannot mine with any miner with AMD cards.
Tried cgminer and yacminer. Anyone with AMD was able to mine this coin?

Dev, the next algo, will be CPU friendly or GPU?

That is depends on the Nfactor: lower Nfactor - possible to mine with GPU, higher Nfactor - more possible to mine with CPU.

Please read an article about block chain technology (the article about bitcoins, but it's more or less the same with other crypto currencies):
https://bitsonblocks.net/2015/09/09/a-gentle-introduction-to-blockchain-technology/

When the same block was found by two or more miners! Only one gets accept others gets Orphans.

Those who could, silent and mining. I was pleased with a similar question in the Russian branch, no one answered. I think this is possible, because earlier scrypt-jane worked for AMD.

I could say that most of miners use CPU miners now.

Was using the recommended by pool for minerd: --nfmin=4 --nfmax=30. Im trying to lower these numbers, but keeps getting rejectec shares. Any clue about the config for gpu?
Nvm, saw your response now. I'll keep playing with hte numbers for now. Thank you mate.

From the wallet of the pool somebody transferred 11 K coins.

seriously?  in a decentralized system, how do you suggest to block that?  this has been discussed ad-infinitem about a list of coins to black list etc...  never gona happen...  if your security is low enough to have your coins stolen, you deserve to lose the coins.

Someone can explain this chain of addresses and transactions to me:
Look transaction http://cerberus.ageleis.de/tx/469cc881e4b020a901fc03fb67b32094a8d1057e486fc22ad2054f33734b72f3
You see sum 5060.15800300 and adress http://cerberus.ageleis.de/address/CZCtcQ4i7Km6TtduWPEAfYF4dn3zexAwHU
This adress was received and send this sum.
Look at transaction http://cerberus.ageleis.de/tx/34e8e687b26ee30a8798860c71e1e67a91298e78cb3ab177eb4beb59b9ba8702
See next adress: http://cerberus.ageleis.de/address/CeRhRH9aF975UVMiSLd2A85vh8Vv67yHmC
Again received and send, but bigest sum.
Look at transaction http://cerberus.ageleis.de/tx/b9d2aad65e5cc968a69c7f211f874d76316415196082158c5b49b52d546967fd

And again, again and again. I looks around 20 adress and transactions.
All the same, only the amount increases.

WHAT IS IT?
This is an Exchange (or pool), it's absolutely normal.

I wouldn't be too hopeful on Yobit exchange. Very much a pump and dump exchange. We would be aiming to get onto Bittrex more than anything. But Bittrex requires certain requirements to fill before considered. see here: https://support.bittrex.com/hc/en-us/articles/202583854-Submitting-a-Coin-to-Bittrex - "At Bittrex, we look for coins that have high community demand, innovations to digital currency technology, or a contribution to science or humanity. Given the demand for currency launches, we limit ourselves to only a handful a week."

this two addresses are ok, I think we have now a good Balance between PoW and PoS. The Problem was PoS and old wallets with big amount with the network delay. now the stakes are fine and the diff also. We will see the next days whats going on with the new algo   :D

so... look at the top 3 lines in this copy paste of the explorer...   I think this person is holding blocks back, then releasing them on the network orphaning other blocks.

If the next days there is no news from the developer, the new algorithm will not be interesting.
With the current price, mining CACH will not be profitable. And perhaps the power of the pool will also simply not be in demand.

It will be interesting to see, if people want to get cold feet in the beginning let them. We have plenty of work left to do, we will explain all the changes on the 24th. While there may be a general consensus that we are supposed to do daily updates with new information. That simply is not how development works. We work on a piece, release it. I am sorry daytraders take advantage of you, but you can just be patient and await the update.

It's just my emotion.

It all happened together: we lost pool (cach.diger) and pool admin 3 days offline, not clear story with the withdrawal of funds from the wallet of the pool, no new message from aleksoo7 and dumping price.
For a past month yours "moderator of CASH" aleksoo7 everyday send post in this topic.
How can you not get nervous?

We actually did agree to use your logo and a bounty will be issued for it. We like the idea of it looking like a database on top of the c.

On the 24th CachePOW goes into effect.

Also, who is dumping a price? I have mentioned before pls take a look to CoinMarketCap - when the project was out of developments (some sold and some bought under price 0.000003 in Cryptsy with BTC price of 300$) + for the last month miners have mined approx. 300k which current price is possibly good enough for them.

Also, you are welcome to help the project with donation to Bounty bank with CACH: CZRU1mkurLYiV5toGm8MbfZPpANBsp6och
All these coins we will especially use to pay for developments and promotion of project. You could always check the payments in Block Explorer.

lol about that twitter post hahaha. Some random guy with 5 followers wrote smth and price will crash cuz of him? :)

Lucky guys who bought for 3sat. They made 400x profit at that low price. But look at volume and trades on market. There is no buy bid so random guy sell 10 cach and price drops. 1 btc would increase price 2x already, wait for the snowball effect. There are also not many sell bids and with some news when people start buying back and some more interest in project by more people price will start to move. For now barely anyone know what cach is. With some price spike it will get attention.

Actually cachecoin has a market cap of around 50btc,about 135.000$.
If it will be supported also in future, like it is supported today,it will easily reach at least  1 million market cap before the end of the year, which is still quite low for a good coin.So about 8 times the value it has today.
Don't expect this coin to become THE ''next big coin'',don't expect to become a millionaire with just few coins, buy some and wait.

Please DEV, I know your busy, but can you look at this... I seriously think there is a bad actor on the network..

9 out the 13 blocks I minted overnight have been orphaned...

This latest one, a miner found a block after me and confirmed me... then about 20 minutes later the 'guy'  posted 3 blocks at once and orphaned both me and the mined block.. WTF

edit:   I think he orphaned 3 mined blocks and my POS block...  aarrrgggggg

edit2:  as you can see here,  me and the miners were up to 177003 when 'he' came in and cause a reorg back to 177001:

I think the Dev can do nothing. I suppose your adress is CNiYj371ed9MmS2bKMfsNnLVGb4Cx5NQpk but You have too few peers. My nodes have 20-50 connections! If you publish a new block your message have to do more than one hop in the network and this take 5-10min in a worst case szenario. You should running your node with more peers (24/7 and open port 2225)

A larger network with a better distribution solves the Problem. A good start is to open port 2225 in your Firewall or router. Other nodes can add your node faster because they do not have to wait for an outgoing random port/connections.

The guy with the bigger Impact of the network but maybe a slow computer (but with better connection as you) is CYBMEP41xHmUDopMdvMEbQQ5abu8GzbgVb.

Thank you sir..

added port.   please if anyone can also post node list to manually addnode I would appreciate it.

you can use this,
https://www.coinexchange.io/network/peers/CACH

but you see the most of all nodes have a random outgoing Connection and therefore we can not simple add this IPs. The best Szenario is a static IP with open port for incoming and outgoing Connection (for mining and stake) but not all users have this requirements.

you can add nodes also on a running wallet with "addnode IP" or  "addnode IP:Port" in the daemon with "cachecoind addnode AAA.BBB.CCC.DDD" or in the GUI->Help->Debug Window->Console  .. return if true if added or false, no connection

Thank you for that link!!   check out the distribution globally.. very nice.

Tomorrow you will notice the difficulty and reward begin to adjust based on current network speed. This leads into the java port, the new wallet will have a gui for network statistics with live streaming data. This is just one feature that is being worked on, including simplified access to common features everyone uses on websites will become available inside the wallet.

The java port has been under construction for about 2 years, so to those wondering if the timeline is very long....not really, kalgecin has been working on this for a long time and is about 2/3 completed. This week he began restructuring the chain to be in a sqlite db.

Currently, to receive transactions, you have to configure the wallet to do some mumbo jumbo to process an incoming tx. With the way we are structuring it you can just query the db.

wait.. ?what?

So the version that we are using today, which works with incoming transactions...  and your plan is to replace it with one that we have to 'mumbo jumbo' or query the db?

1.  defined mumbo jumbo
2.  define query the db...    do you mean use the rpc as in 'listtransactions' ?  or the console...

is this actually ready to be released?  or is this just on testnet.?

edit:  jftr, comments like the quoted do NOT inspire confidence in a coins prospects for the future.  not professional.

Sorry, I did/do not get the reference... what part is real and what part is a joke?
