Anyone experiencing Kraken website offline?

All the major exchanges seem to be having issues right now.  Coinbase is crawling and Kraken gives me cloudflare errors and even when there aren't errors the site is not really functioning correctly and throwing errors.

I guess the flood of demand is really causing problems.

Ive been experiencing this too and also to coinbase they are making maintenance everynow and then which they do suffer on slow loading times. Exchanges do really facing some issues as of now seeing up on the booming demands specially together with the flow of bitcoins price. Hope this would be resolve soon and I find it very hassle for me on this kind of situation.

Yes. Bitstamp also reported that they've had a surge of new members and have a backlog to get through verification.

I think this took everyone by surprise.

I know the ransomware thing resulted in loads of mainstream news outlets doing "what is bitcoin" articles, but the number who seem to want to get into it are phenemenal.

whenever prices are on the rise like this, a huge number of people are rushing to exchanges to buy bitcoin or sell it to get profit and that creates a lot of traffic on a server that was not supposed to handle that much traffic, so it becomes slow or even crash sometimes.

then in times like this, many butthurt people or even possibly the competing exchanges or any other entity starts DDoS attacking these platforms and causes these outages.

Security experts are saying another "WannaCry" attack is coming soon and this one is going to be more serious than the previous one. The tools used to

create "WannaCry" consisted of 2 NSA tools /exploits that were leaked, and the new one will consist of 7 tools. I would suggest that people should make

decent backups to prepare for the next wave of this attack. We have been patching servers and computers non-stop and doing separate backups of our

data to protect against this. {well I say we, but the company I work for}  ;) .... These services should do the same.  ???

Kraken had a major upgrade to their trading engine in the beginning of January. Trades go through much smoother and connectivity is much better. If you haven't visited out exchange in a while be sure to check out our new trading interface at trade.kraken.com (http://trade.kraken.com).

If you need anything else please drop by our Bitcointalk thread (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=290799.0)!
