Almost 700,000 of those accounts are abandoned.

The forum ID count is already past one million - it is at 1,015,637 already.

Ya good point..

I also wonder how big some other forums are in comparison.
For example the Nvidia forums total accounts created stats.
Too lazy to go look though  :D

Oh and anytime i looked at the modlog here i seen large batches of accounts banned.
I always assumed it was staff hammering a guy for a bit who was creating a pile of accounts.

They're probably spambots being nuked.

And probably half of the accounts registered here were spam bots of some kind. It would be interesting to find out how many active users we have a day on average though.

i would be interested in active (say last 60 days) unique IPs vs active user names.

maybe get a sockpuppet/account farmer vs real user percentage that way.

Wonder why they created the account if they want to abandon.  ???. 700K is a large number.

I've been looking at the stats on & off for a long time and the average has been going down.
Average online per day:    219.19
It says right now and it was often 300 'ish before.
Surprising because i thought there was more users here these days.

I'm guessing that statistic is the average from the time it started until now.
Which explains why it doesn't match the next stat..
Users Online:    8029
Which was half that when i posted this late last night.

I always seen activity rise during North American hours on Cryptsy.
I think it might be the same thing going on.

1 million accounts created is huge though !
And yeah i bet bots are part of it.
I also bet many of them are posting in Off-Topic ..the posts there are retarded A/B choice topics.

Anyway.. I have brought up the *almost a million accounts thing here lots before.
Often as a reminder in the Altcoin section that i rarely see the same people post twice.
Some kids out there use account creation as a form of communication  ::)
So it puts thing into perspective when you are taking advice from people here.
Oh and it is now 100270 as of right now.. and climbing fast.

Obviously there is a lot of bullshit that goes on when we have 1 million accounts and 8k user online.
Myself.. i have made 1 account here and never logged into another even once before.
I also have never used a VPN or Proxy either..
Has there been any other site that has had this much account shenanigans ?

Like holy shit guys.. 1 million bloody accounts and an average of 219 online ? HAHHAHAHA

Define "active".  I'll see if I can pull up some numbers for you.

I would call "active" any account which someone has logged into in the last ~2 weeks.  They don't have to post to be active.

It would still be hard to weed out all the hacked and farmed accounts though.

The above stats do not surprise me, so many people have crappy throw away accounts to shill, troll or sell.
I'd hazard a guess that there are less than 100,000 individual people who post here.

Who make at least one post on that day (that are not nuked).

Yeah, I can't help with that.  I only scan the public profile page, and don't look at the individual posts.   :-[

Well i did include a stat close to what you guys mean..

"Online now"

I looked in the middle of the night then in the day.. about 4,500 and then 8,500.

So taking into account we have over 1 million accounts that is mind blowingly low !

- I posted the stats link 2x guys. ;)

1 million sounds as huge numbers, but many of these accounts are bots, farmed account and also big part of accounts didn't made at least single post.

I also think that there much less than 100k active users. And it's not bad. If there would be much more active users, there would be a real mess. Forum would need more staff members.

Over 100K active user a month. :o. This remind me about blackhatworld and warriorforum a few years ago. Seems more and more people getting interest in crypto world and aware about BTC.

This has made me wonder a few times what the site is worth on those online calculators.
