Title: MSM Needs to take their dirty Paws off our Bitcoin & Crypto
Post by: Ucy on May 30, 2017, 12:38:49 PM
It makes me very uncomfortable seeing Articles on Bitcoin from the Mainstream media whether they're against or in it's favor.
Their insecure sponsors have very unhealthy obsession for power and would most likely do anything possible to control the Blockchain.
Let all Crypto fans be aware that Blockchain/CryptoCurrency was created because of these corrupt people. We all need to do everything possible to protect it from them or we'll be doomed again

I kind of feel they are trying to penetrate, control or destroyed the Blockchain with "if you can beat them you join them" tactics.

Imo MSM coverage of crypto is great and necessary for it to aheive widespread acceptance and adoption. Bitcoin market cap needs to increase significantly for it to actually be used as a currency. Right now it is not us d as a currency anywhere, but rather as an investment or medium for transferring money. MSM coverage can bring in institutional investors and big money that can help both increase the price and keep it stable. This is needed for Bitcoin to start being used as a currency.

I am for freedom before money. Cryptocurrency is already an excellent product nobody can ignore . Their publicity is not needed in my opinion. Most investors do lots of research. they probably already know Cryptocurrency exist.

In my country reports on bitcoin are quite positive even when it's about something bad, like ransomware, you see people talking about how they pay the ransom with bitcoin and saw something positive because in that because they learned about bitcoin and found it fascinating, but usually is just about price up, price down, and bit of information about how it works.

Don't know where you're from, but probably the problem with media is not confined to bitcoin.

The only worrying thing about it is that if they can be this positive, they could be just as negative.  But I welcome that they've broadly matured about the concept and moved past blaming various crimes on crypto.

Your post makes no sense.  If they were trying to infiltrate crypto, they would do it privately by spamming the network or running nodes and mining in an attempt to control transactions, then they would present it negatively.  By sharing it with the masses, they're supporting the network by making it decentralised.

The only thing they're really looking for is ad revenue from their clickbait about such a controversial topic.  I genuinely don't think there's any clear agenda, yet.

People invest in Bitcoin because they believe it will become a very popular currency in the future, like a default currency of the Internet instead of PayPal. To achieve this we need all the mainstream media coverage, they should talk about Bitcoin at least a few times per week (nowdays they only cover it when the price skyrockets/crashes or some criminals are involved). You can't expect people to just start adopting Bitcoin because it's so great, people are very passive, inert and conformist, they need someone to point them in the right direction.

So what you basically want is censorship but done the "right" way.

A lot of guys tough their way is the right one just to be proven wrong a few years after.

Let the media paint bitcoin how it wants.
If the project fails because of a few articles then it means it was not strong enough and something else will take it's place.

You can't control what goes into the media. If mainstream media is jumping on the bandwagon is because the price is going up, once a correction happens and the price is stable for a while they will stop reporting, then once we hit $10,000 they will report again.

I guess they will start pumping ETH too because all those brands are jumping on the hype. I should have bought some fucking ETH that I can tell you. I may buy after a big crash happens.

Bitcoin will not fall because of this, but it will be severely crippled and slowed down. The mainstream media are controlled by fiat masters and

they dictate what must be published and what not. Most media giants have shareholders and these shareholders must be kept happy.  ::)

Some people says.... Good publicity, is Good publicity... but in Bitcoin's case.... Bad publicity is simply what it says... BAD.  >:(

i quite agree with @Ucy. But one if the problem is, a lot of people, specially the recent one, don't really care about why bitcoin has been created in the first place... There is a very big percentage of people (old in the cryptocurrencies or not) who are interested only for the speculative side.

I quite like it when I see articles about bitcoin and other coins, kind of validates it.  The more bitcoin becomes mainstream the more attention there is on other projects as well which I think benefits everyone.
