Will this affects price?

GMO is a Japanese trading platform for Forex, Equities, Stocks and now Bitcoin, it is insured for hacker attacks and regulated by Japanese Financial Services Agency

First time I heard abut it. Which currencies can you trade with Bitcoin on it?

Anyway, everything online can be attacked...

in japan bitcoin is already very big they use it like they use their jpy or yen, it's hard to think that it would make any difference there in japan, if it was another country where bitcoin is not very known perhaps yes, but nonetheless it's a good thing more exchange more possibility to have more people that buy bitcoin

I never expected japan to be so dedicated. When i heard them adopting bitcoin as a currency i was like ok fine we will see and little increase in price, but japan became a player it added bitcoin to more than 100k stores , made freakin multiple atm in the country and now it's opening the largest trading platform also. I wish it's neighbour china was also like this.

Considering that GMO owns the world's largest Forex brokerage, maybe that will affect bitcoin price.

It's not for Bitcoin/Altcoins trading, it's for Bitcoin buying/selling with 'zero' fees on all orders. And true.

for the past few months all we keep hearing is the bullshit with SEC and the ETF they denied! and that is like a pathetic little news compared to this one in my opinion :)

It might affect the price, but the number of people trading in Japan wasn't very high until today.
A new platform will surely bring in new people and some new money to the market, but it won't have a large enough impact to start a rally, especially in Japan.

No one in Japan is using it. It is legitimate now, but it's never been used anywhere like the same way as in the US for instance yet. Bitflyer, currently the biggest exchange in Japan, has most of its volume due to less than ten traders.

And if this does become a big deal no one will be using it still. All they'll be doing is trading it.

This will give some stability to the bitcoin rate as more people coming in. At the same time, how it is going to pan out remains to be seen

Japan was wise to jump on the crypto tech train. In the end it is one of few countries which actually invent tech, unlike China which only copies it.  :D

Have it this way, many of the users may missed the early adoption train but that's not the case if you think country-wise.

Japan is the early adopter of bitcoin as a country. While China was banning its usage, Japan took a step forward and actually made it legal. So does Australia. As a result, these countries will benefit most from bitcoin.

Just like people who believed in bitcoin and endured anything for years.

If they are regulated by japanese government than it can be pain in ass for international users to go through their extensive KYC policy just like the way foreign traders lost so much in chinese platforms before due to confusing verification terms they have. I would suggest to not use all this new platforms to trade large amount of bitcoins.

Their interest concerns me however. The East is way more enthusiastic about crypto than the West, every time we get a new nation to invest, we bubble and pop. I loved the rally we.just had, it was timely for me, but I cant help but think the price isn't sustainable, growing this quickly. The chart looked like a goddamed ski slope before the price started pulling back. We have to be more responsible about our growth; I like profits as much as anyone else, but unsustainable growth is well, unsustainable.

oh yes,  but there is nothing we can do about it. Time will settle things. In the long term price will be more stable, not now nor next year

Let's face it. Japan and other South East nation is very much into bitcoin. They love bitcoin and has been pouring cash like there are no tomorrow. The unstable price of bitcoin will also be with us, no matter what. But I think the price is more stable now as compared to previous years. Let's just enjoy the ride, and if  this is a bubble then let it be. Everyone should be responsible, but if profit is for us to take, then cashing out would be the only option.

GMO seems to be a reputable company, the exchange is regulated and the user´s funds are secured and insured so they will have a big a amount of users willing to invest in bitcoin. I think there will be a pump in Japan exchanges.

I do not think japan is so dedicated. They are so brave to adopt bitcoin as fiat money. 100 stores in japan play to mine bitcoin, making many atm the most present now.

I think surely the price will get affected as this exchange give the platform for fiat users to trade bitcoin just like trading in Forex and equity market. So surely they will show the big movement

i really hope that's never put to the test. the most likely cause of them losing money is some type of social engineering or total carelessness. in that case it's possible they won't pay out. bitpay lost a lot because of an employee's mistake. the insurance told them to forget trying to claim.

Are they really giant? I haven't heard about them, maybe that's my mistake. Maybe they will affect price but it depends how much do they can, what's their maximum, will people start using them? Because currently there are so many exchangers.. Who knows.. If their goal is to be leader in market and are giant in forex, stock and etc as op you say, than there is no doubt they'll make good steps in bitcoin so I think they'll affect if situation will go like I said.

I also haven't heard any new about it, if it is huge supposed to be a lot of people talking about it, but if it is really happened it will be great for bitcoin, more people will know bitcoin and it will caused more people to join and the price will go up, the most important now is the bitcoin popularity, if we can add the popularity then bitcoin will have a great future, and I so overwhelmed seeing Japan really take commitment about bitcoin, so many sectors started to implemented bitcoin,soon it will be a heaven for bitcoin users

In Twitter, Reddit, in Bitcoin digital newspaper (Bitcoin telegraph etc...), even in regular media (CNBC) they talked about this, maybe not a lot, but all talked at least once about it.
The news is quite huge, but Japanese love moving under the radar if possible. So I didnt expect they emphasizing the news.
The creation of new exchange platforms it is a normal conseguence of Bitcoin legalization as a currency in Japan.

In Japan and Korea they pays Bitcoin 20% higher than us, maybe because the understood better than us, how huge this is.
Anyway Japanese "normal" people are smart investors, smarter than the average American or even European so many Japanese sometimes could even short Bitcoin.
I mean many Japanese investing in Bitcoin doesnt mean Bitcoin always growing.

This could potentially be great news, a real breakthrough into mainstream adoption in Japan at least. I'm not going to get my hopes up but fingers crossed that this brings us a boost in the price.

Same here, I really didn't expect that japan do really push its view and usage of bitcoin to them and now they are creating a platform which Bitcoin is already included so this is basically a good news after all which would really adds up trader and buyers of bitcoins after that then expect price of bitcoin would be affected and rise up. Hopefully not only japan would adopt bitcoin seriously.

I'm seeing great dedication from all the Japanese industries towards Bitcoin. They're trying to adopt the technology in an exceptional manner. They are the tech giant and it's a great news for all of us. If every country starts adopting like Japan then everyone will understand the true power of Bitcoins in the near future.

Yes, We can expect such more exchanges in next few months. I have read that 1Broker is also opening dedicated BTC/USD platform (don't know the reason but they might not be able to handle the load on their current platform). Recent price surge also lead to little trouble at coinbase's place and I won't be surprised if there are 5 to 10 such mega exchanges within next couple of years.

This is a good news for Bitcoin community .  Definitely this will have an effect to bitcoin price.  I believe we can see an increase in price right after this big exchange opened.  The reason is that there will be new user and adopter of bitcoin that will flock in to this exchange. Aside from that I am sure this big exchange have marketing and promotional strategy to entice new to bitcoin to open up and get involved in bitcoin trading.

Good news, more exchanges means more competition, and more competition means better services for the public.

If more exchanges can provide traders with a stable environment to trade in, then great. As it is, trading is already a difficult task.

after all this time i assure you that there really isn't any reason for little fluctuations like this.
a tiny dip which is smaller than $50-$100 is not really because "sell the news", it is the normal way market works. and there are a lot of things going on at the moment which makes this "big Japanese news" get lost among them.

Now this is one big news. Precisely, it would place a huge impact on bitcoins as new venue for bitcoin trading will be open in Japan for the Japanese people. Everyday bitcoin update coming from Japan are filled with excitement and I always follow it. Hope in my country the government will also declare the adoption of bitcoin.

This is good news but I have not yet seen its reflection on prices. Having such news allows us to look forward to the future of BTC. I think that in the coming days will also affect prices positively

i agree the fluctation is very little and it's impossible to say exactly why. But you know Btc today could going up, sideway or down, it went down.
Now Bitstamp is 2216$, yesterday was over 2300$.

We will see in the next days what happening. If Bitcoin will not crash, I think Ethereum will continue to grow. If Bitcoin crash, everybody go down.

I think its a pump again for bitcoin. Japan is really embracing bitcoin. I will say Japan now is one of the biggest player on bitcoin next to China. And i think they will surpass China because there's no hindrance on bitcoin in Japan unlike China. Many companies there are now accepting bitcoin including airlines.

I do not think that it will affect the price because the bitcoin prices have been increased in the recent day

Not many people jump right in at the launch of these exchanges anymore.  There is a huge wall of trust that is impossible to get past these days.  When exchanges that were open for years bail and keep the cash, then not many people trust a brand new one.  It will take some time and that means supporting yourself within the site for that starting period.  That and dealing with the various pressures at the legal level.  Get past six months and an exchange might have a shot.

I am not sure where this news popped but a google search could not find any valid news regarding this,is it possible to provide some sort of link to verify this news so that i could make up my mind on what to do next and if this is true,the price of bitcoin can increase in the coming days.

Glad to hear so many good news about Bitcoin in Japan. Looks like my desire to travel to Japan does not stop growing and is not without reasons.

Japan really acts fast as to what I expect but regarding Bitcoin it is surprising how it was openly accepted with the strong support of the government. It is not a long time ago when it has announced its acceptance but look at now how Bitcoin's roots are digging deeper and spreading. Also a lot of companies there has been into with Bitcoin and now this which is a really good news. Bitcoin also is used in paying flights you have booked in airlines.

How big of a giant they are? it's just a trading platform with other options to trade with but is it privately owned truly or is under control of the government? do you know that the price wouldn't magically increase or decrease unless there is a demand for it or a sell off(dumping).
Since Bitcoin is decentralized network and market there is no single point of failure like in traditional markets where only a sentence from a president could have a huge impact either positive or negative, but maybe the recent price rise is somehow related to this? I don't know before further research.

Any news coming from Japan seems to be affecting the price in a positive way and I think more of these financial giants are going to get their feet wet on bitcoin especially that there's a ruling in Japan that says they will stop applying consumption taxes on cryptocurrencies. Alt coins are also making big waves and it can only push the price higher once there are more financial firms that are approved to join the market.

I just remembered this thread and on looking at the site,they still did not launch the site for bitcoin based trading as they once again postponed the release because of the delays caused by the network it seems,lets see how things pan out and lets see what their decision will be.

It is not easy to start a exchange just like that they have to first secure fully with full security and then the network should be installed strong and after that they have to test it so many times so that minor mistakes can be rectified. So i think first they solve all the problem after that if they start then it will be very good option.

It seems unconfirmed transaction become another problem for GMO which has postpone the launch.

As bitcoin has been legalized in Japan, this should be another increase for bitcoin in there.

Sure we need more zero fees exchanges and with all the Chinese exchanges making a come back after a long break allowing users to withdraw their coins and i would like to trade in countries where bitcoin is legal and it looks they are a good choice and hope they will start a robust system and attracts more investors.

So how much of a waiting time are we talking about to see what their decisions will be? It's been going in for a long time now without any concrete conclusions and so are we going to be promised all the time without the GMO trading platform coming into fruition?

I absolutely agree with you pal, Bitcoin has already transformed the life of some of us so it's no news that it's going to further strengthen our base financially by these welcoming news of global adoption and demand.

In Japan after GMO other new big exchanges platforms should open, always regualted by the Japanese Financial Agency.

What is the status of this big development,did they successfully start their business ,if so, i could not really see any major changes in price,if they become functional i am sure there will be a market rally once again,since you can expect millions into bitcoin with trading platform like that.

but with a lot of working around this problem i managed to use google translate and sign up and go around a bit. it seems like a good platform but i could not find anything on their daily volume.

so if anybody has any information on their Vol it would be great if they could share it.
