Title: Have You Been to Macau?

It's like a gambler's paradise there. About 33 casinos squeezed into a small island.

It's my dream to be in Macau but when I go there I'm not really going to for the casino's instead I want to have time to relax for myself and have some tour with that good country. I know it's like the Vegas of the Asia and there are a lot of gamblers that are visiting there just to try their luck and have fun with those casino's. Dreaming of going there someday.

I have heard of Macau but never been there before.

Where is it exactly?
If it is a small island I would imagine it is kind of tucked away somewhere then. :-\

I have always thought it was near turkey or monaco.
Somewhere where there is a lot of money. :D

If I'm not mistaken Macau is a part of China from the past the same as China and Singapore.

Yes it is a small island and that's why the country isn't that big but it is rich as other small countries and it's main industry is gambling (correct me if I'm wrong).

I have a friend, a woman gambler and she loves to visit that place. I wish she will invite me for a tour there.

I've visited on a day trip from Hong Kong back in the late 90's before it went back to China... stopped by a couple of Casinos... the volume of money being gambled was phenomenal... and that was just what I could see being wagered on the main gaming floor by "ordinary" gamblers... so the amounts that were likely being wagered in private salons by the "high rollers" would be massive.

I haven't been to Macau. If I'm not mistaken you need to have big amount of money before going there so that you will not be down easily when you experienced lose. This is a sure paradise for those gamblers and I have read some articles that there are gamblers out there that are into online gambling which makes me think that there are some gamblers that are aware of bitcoin gambling there.

It is indeed a gambler's paradise. However i'm pretty sure that you need to be 21 to go into a casino legally so if you are above 18 but below 21, then it's probably not worth a visit there. Everything is also pretty damn expensive there which means if you are not a highroller it's probbaly not worth a visit there. The house edges are obviously higher, so no point buying a plane ticket and going there just to gamble.

However the experience is great so go there for your honeymoon/or organise like a group trip there with friends. But stay in hong kong as well for a bit as there are more tourist attractions there and the places are very close together.

I have not been there before and I don't even know it existed until I got involved with bitcoin which led me to the gambling section of the forum where I have read that several licences is from that end. But at the same time I would really want to visit sometimes in the future which might be difficult since I have not come across their embassy or something that relates to tourist activities concerning them anywhere yet but will start looking into it.

No, but the description is quite tempting.. I am surprised it's this crowded though. Been to LV before and even though it's clearly gambling-oriented there are plenty of other things..
I guess I better forget my wallet when I go there, rather than losing it :P

It is very tempting once you went, though I haven't went there. Reading a lot of tempting feedback from the people who went there is really attracting. A small paradise that is built for gamblers. I will not go there having a pack of my wallet because I know what will be the negative result to me.

It is famous gambling hub in Asia. A lot of casinos are located in that small place. But so far I didn't go to that place but been to Las Vegas couple of times. Anyway, even in Las Vegas I didn't gamble but just visited few casinos to enjoy my time. So far I only gambled online and never gambled in real casinos.

I haven't been to Macau but my cousin's sister that is basically also my cousin works at Macau at a casino. I heard so much paradise lands in Macau wow I think Macau is could be the capital of gamblers. Many casino really existed in Macau and all of it are open 24 HRS. So non-stop poker non-stop gambling on any games. Well if you've been addicted to gambling I think Macau is the best place to visit. If you want to search casinos' that existed in Macau you can see many lights and luxurious places. Those are the casinos and when I gain a lot of money I think I could probably visit Macau. One of the places I dreamed to visit one of those is Macau. But I really need to bring a lot of bullets(money) in their and prepare myself to earn and lose.

Good history lesson. Thank you for that!
The Portegeuse people have created most of what the european big empire were built on.
Including Ancient Rome and Greece.

Someone is really know their history, or you are doing a little research, I haven't even gone to Macau yet but I am hearing things about this place and economy is based largely on tourism. and clothing industry was a thing in export when it comes to Macau and about the gambling in Macau it is monopoly license by Stanley ho the monopoly lasted up to 2002 then other casino owners from Las Vegas started to enter in the market. and then gambling industry have boom and grew.

Yes, I have visited Las Vegas once and it's a heaven for gamblers, I'm not a regular Gambler so it was fun for me seeing my friends play and they won big.
Planning for Macau in the next summer hope it'll be better than Las Vegas as most of my friends said it's wonderful.

I would like to visit someday. Vegas Dave claims he bet near to $1 million on Miesha Tate when she fought Amanda Nunes for the 135 lb woman's MMA title. Macau could have higher betting limits than Las Vegas, that could be one advantage it has going for it. Also travel through asia to macau is good for cultural enrichment.

I would love to visit Macau someday.  I hear that it's similar to Vegas, but the casinos are generally not within walking distance of each other.

I also understand that Chinese love to play table games more than slot machines.  I think it's reverse in Las Vegas as there are many more people at the slots, when compared to the table games.

I've never been there, but as far as I know Macau is the only place in China where gambling is legal, other than two state-sanctioned lotteries.  It is a special administrative region of China and is home to the some of the world's most incredible casinos built using superb architecture and all complete with fine dining, exciting night life and luxury accommodations. It looks good to go to Macau and I was interested to see the casinos there.

I have been to Macau, but I didn't go there to gamble. I went there with my family and just enjoyed the shows and see how much people there are really wealthy and I'm curious how much money they have and that's awesome. It is really a gamblers paradise there, and I would like to try out some games, but definitely just for entertainment, not for profiting reasons.

China was smart not to change the former Portuguese (Macau) and British (Hong Kong) economies after the handover in 1999.  They saw no reason to kill the cash cow.

Good point. I believe they have some sort of agreement in the handover not to interfere with their economies for a certain time period. Even if they didn't, they'll probably let the economies flourish on its own as they're doing well.

Macau and vegas only for those people who have a lot of time and money to spend , yeaaa a high roller.
A small player can only to keep dreaming flight there.
Also for me personally really afraid to come to a real casino , i afraid to lose control , lost money in a far away place like macau or vegas , a lot of consequences.

Controlling your emotions is near to impossible thing if you are too much addicted to gambling in real life. First of all its not that easy to fly to Macau or Las Vegas and gamble, you need to have a lot of money and time. Only the upper-class people can take this kind of holiday nowadays. So I guess its better to gamble online.

Yes, this place is very famous for gamblers, and I think very dangerous area. We can not go alone that place, and with family, it is not a good place to visit. That is why I am waiting for my friend's response once they tell ok I will visit once this place.

It is a very nice place to go but I don't want to put myself at risk on other country. It's better to gamble on your very own native country, I'm not comfortable to gamble on other countries without having a big pocket money. I just want to go there and witness other's fortune.

I can only say that he has found a way to earn and raise his state in a very good way. The fact is that the gambling business has a very huge profit for casino owners, but this does not apply to gamblers. The fact is that a gambler is resting and relaxing in the casino, can have fun, Just do not start getting carried away and making money. This can be a very bad step in the life of a gambler.

I do believe the same thing on which it isn't to expensive compared to Las Vegas itself. I haven't been on macau since travelling on other places is very expensive that's why I do decide rather to play casino online but if I do have the chance on going there and play then why not, I think this is every gamblers dream on which they would like to experience actual casinos.

I haven't tried to get a side trip to Macau. But I've seen it's establishments from a friend of mine. She's a businesswoman and she keeps on travelling from Singapore back to Macau. And she's inviting me to go to Macau just for a visit but I know it will cost a lot because when I can't control myself. I will make myself stay there for better.

I had been Singapore many times but not visited Macau, and My friends told me to come, but I did not get a chance to visit that place. Yes, this place is very famous for gamblers, and I think very dangerous area. We can not go alone that place, and with family, it is not a good place to visit. That is why I am waiting for my friend's response once they tell ok I will visit once this place.

Yes this is really a very well known place for those people that loves gambling. It is a dangerous area if you don't have enough money to gamble and it's better to stay at home playing on an online casino. It's not that bad to gamble there but my main focus is to visit countries and Macau is a good place to consider for vacation.

It's like a gambler's paradise there. About 33 casinos squeezed into a small island.

Never been there, but I don't think it can be better than Vegas. I only know it from movies though, so my info might be wrong of course.
One thing is sure, it's way better than my country, because we don't have many casinos here, and the ones we have are not very special.

Kinda far away though
When you go to Vegas, you have a lot of things to see in USA too
Macau is in China, I mean, you got things to see
But..

Hmm, I don't know
It's just that Vegas is Vegas
But I'd support Macau just because free markets and stuff :D

You would be surprised to know Macau is one of the safest place in the world. Arguably as safe as Singapore, based on their crime rate statistics.

That's true, it's a fun thing to gamble especially in an exclusive city like Macau. It's the sin city in Asia. I think it is also fun in Las Vegas but there are a lot of people there that are addicted. It's an important skill to know what you would know how to gamble and what to gamble.

judge something from a movie? i don't think it's could be a good point of view. as movie are movie , everything has been edited to make it looks nice than the reality. better to ask those people who have travelled there and give a shot on several casinos. macau sounds like the best place to gamble after vegas indeed but still it's 'sounds' everyone have different thought right? it's just the movies that successfully makes vegas looks better.

My friend family drop in Venetian Macao(currently largest casino in the world) when they visit Hongkong, their pictures is too awesome to be a casino it looks serene and with peace unlike in Vegas casino shown in movies which seems to be too crowded.

And they build everything there BIG. As in BIGGGGGG! I been to Las Vegas and to Macau. Las Vegas is nothing when the whole Macau area is fully developed! Every big casino/hotel that was in Las Vegas is bigger and better in Macau. Though I haven't gotten in the casinos areas though. Well, I was never a fan of real casinos anyway.

Yeah I agree, though I haven't been to vegas yet. I had a great time at Macau. The tour buses there are free, which was the best thing I remembered from my stay there. You can go visit any casino/hotel via their free buses and you can get back to your own through it too. The hotels are pretty fine too, it's so luxurious and nice to be in.

It will be nice to go there someday, but at the moment I don’t have the funds, Las Vegas is a lot closer to me so I will probably have to make do with Las Vegas instead of Macau.

It is a very nice place to go but I don't want to put myself at risk on other country. It's better to gamble on your very own native country, I'm not comfortable to gamble on other countries without having a big pocket money. I just want to go there and witness other's fortune.
Also to be honest I do not know how I will communicate there, since I can only speak English if it is a tourist zone then there must be people that speak English but it does not matter communication is going to be a problem.

Never been to Macau and would love to go someday. People are saying it's a gambler's paradise, etc. For people who have been there, what is the vibe like? Is it like Las Vegas with it's party/holiday/vacation vibe, i.e. people walking around the main drags drinking alcohol, partying in the clubs and bars, etc?

I think country where betting and casinos are legal then you do not have to go to Macau unless you want to go for holiday and get change. Just specifically if you want to go for casinos then you can certainly do this in you own country and with the amount that you would have spent going there and coming back that much you can play in gambling and might be you can double the amount who knows.

Macau is really a good spot for gamblers, with its isolated feel being a small island and gamblers from all over the world flocking the place with many gaming casinos to play woth. Also it helps that Macau is well known for its gaming culture as the people and the city adapted to it kaking it clearly a haven for gamblers. What is also special for me when I have been there was that they are relaxed and doesnt give you a creepy vibe when you are playing there

If you have the chance, please do visit Macau! You'll have a great time, plus you don't even have to pay for transportation there. All the casinos provide free transportation from anywhere to anywhere. So that saves you a lot of money. Then there are so much places to visit and so much things to do. Yes we had a side trip to Macau when we went to HongKong and i was overwhelmed when i saw their casino. But we dont go inside though because our main purpose was just to tour Macau and relax with my family. And also we dont have the cash to play or gamble on the casino. Maybe someday if we become rich I'll visit macau again.

No, I have never been there because I don't like to fly and prefer online casinos comfortable from home.

Maybe I will go there one day with a cruise.
Ive never been there in Macau, the place is like a paradise to play gambling. But I prefer to relax and a tour with family. Maybe If I have a lot money I want to visit this place for fun and enjoyment.

I haven't, but knowing me I'd spend all my free time at the beach, swimming and watching the babes sunbathe, not in a casino.
I know Macau is a famous place but it's not worth going there just to play unless you're a bored millionaire. Most of us normal people can find a local or online place to bet.
Well we do have our own perception about enjoyment and I guess those bored millionaire finds gambling as one of their ways and who among us doesn't know how Macau works and how much gamblers always visiting the place if gotten a chance I will go there too just experience the fun..

You would see a lot of people playing in casinos that are from other countries and they are probably there to see how it works out in Macau. It's very different and I have been there just for a moment, not really gambling but just to sight see what the place has to offer. If you're a bored millionaire, probably that's where you will be.

There are only two places I would like to go, I want to go to vegas but right now it seems Macau is more possible as it's closer to my location and not too expensive when finally have a trip there.

I haven't been there, but the trip would be too expensive. Has any of you guys actually checked how much the flight would take and cost you?
London - Macau would take me 19 hours, with 2 stopovers, and would cost me £1,5k. That's more than I've ever waged, and I'd have to add a hotel and meals... I don't think i'll ever take that trip, even if someone agrees to go with me.

I have never experienced going to Macau but i dream of getting there when i have a lot of money. I heard that there are many good places casino in this country and i want to go to play to their casinos. There are some places also interested to visit i think its safe too especially in place of casino. Its a such place in all gamblers and very interesting place and very built up with casinos and hotels. There is a biggest casino in the city.
a lot of gamblers are here to get there,
But in fact this is just a dream,
because to be able to visit the macau as much as I know is not easy.
we must have access from certain people.
And to get access is not easy.
but I hope that we all the gamblers get to macau to realize our dreams  ;)

I will go there for holiday next month , let's see what i can share then.
So exciting , i have been made a research about the accomodation , hotels etc as always it is expensive as hell :D .
That place looks like not located in near china/hkg , the architecture building is so outstanding, however when i get there I will try to not play much.

Please do share your experience after your visit to Macau. It is in fact connected to China, connected through the Chinese city of Zhuhai. It is also just beside Hong Kong and just a short ferry ride away.

I agree, it's pretty nice there. Everything is so big and you have to look up at every casino there. The shows are so nice too! I wish I had more money to watch every single one of them but too bad my stay was short and the price of the rooms were damned expensive. The food too are to die for. The jerky in Senado Square is my favorite as well as the cake things I forgot the name.

What makes Macau a special place is that it is an island made specifically for pleasure and sometimes for business as it has its own laws and very very open when it comes to other ventures both legal and illegal. ALSo ot is a gamblers paradise as there is a plethora of casinos that offers to a variety of players and audience.

I've gambled in macau, but because I rarely travel far, I'm just so excited about visiting the casinos on genting island and some other local casinos, I do not think it's any different than the more diverse facilities and visitors, which is important in that place there is one type of game that I like most poker and baccarat.

If I manage to find 3 or 4 other friends to come with me then I believe it would be an awesome experience to go there and visit each one of those 33 casinos. We need to find a lot of money before as you cannot go there ,such a long distance without being properly prepared before.

Heard that its a good place and near to China where the people from China come in the night during weekends and play for a day or so and then next day go back to their home. Just for gambling you want me to visit a island now 33 casinos is surely a huge number I'm not gonna lie but the problem with casinos is they don't like sharing any profit and most of the time when someone wins big they either tell them to take 1/4th of the amount and go away otherwise they kick them from the casino

From one who came from there a few times, I agree! The place is full of huge casinos. Like there is nothing else but casinos. This is really one proof that casinos don't die, and they will continue to spread and get bigger. This is totally the best place to go for a gambler. Though I would say it is a nice place for families as well. It has so much activities to do for families like plays, shows, and other fun activities.

I think this is everybody who gamble has a 2 dreams in their life. First to visit Las Vegas and second to visit Macau. Both are very far to each other and certainly Macau is also called as mini Las Vegas. I feel no need go to Macau just to gambling. Simply by sitting sweetly in the park with laptop, I think it's more comfortable. Because gambling certainly looking profit.

We did a side trip there when we were at Hongkong, the place is quite astonishing at some point and it is really the sin city of asia. Tourists where given free credits especially to those who are a first timer and free access at the casinos, Unlimited drinks and stuffs. A lot of the gamblers their are also a tourist or regular tourist when we are there. It was a great experience though we only visited 2 casinos due to shortage of time.

Hope to visit there. Not for gambling, but more appropriate to watch gamblers spend money or vice versa, dredge casino's money. Because, some friends have gambled there and say very fun (maybe because he won) are in Macau.

It seems that you really like to go to Macau. I think it's awesome to play there because there are a lot of casinos there and they are side by side there. I have been there around 2010 and I don't know how much it has changed now knowing that it has been seven years. I hope to go there again someday.

Imagine if they legalized bitcoin as well , it will bring more positive value for bitcoin !
AFAIK , Hongkong is the best place for playing casino in Asia region and with 1 btc , imagine how much Hongkong fiat that they can be earn from it

It's will be much nicer if we can be able to use crypto on those popular casinos, see how convenient it will be,but might cause more addiction to others who are out of control whenever they play physically.

I’ve never been but I do plan to, maybe one day if the price goes high enough & I begin to cash in I will make the trip. I have been to Vegas but I hear Macau is a different but still great vibe.

I think it would be great if we all meet in Macau one day :) We can just arrange the time and availability of everyone.  I have never been there so I am also interested on visiting it plus the fact that if we all agree to meet there, the excitement of the idea of meeting a co-Bitcoiner from all around the world.

Never been there, but hopefully sooner i will to experience the luxurious and enjoyment of that place called las vegas of asia, its a once in a lifetime experience ,so if having a chance for sure i will grab that opportunity

I think this is everybody who gamble has a 2 dreams in their life. First to visit Las Vegas and second to visit Macau. Both are very far to each other and certainly Macau is also called as mini Las Vegas. Where people form China come on Friday night and play the whole night and mostly return back on Saturday/Sunday evening to their country.

yes of course ! las vegas and macau , a paradise land for real gambler.

we can only see it on the movie , don't know if it is true in the reality. a movie always have a better view and when you come there don't surprising if everything are really far from your expectation. i hope not so .

I have an interesting question - do you know of any physical casino from Macau which is accepting Bitcoin directly?
Or because of Chinese regulations (or whatever other reason) bitcoin acceptance is not possible?
I know that in Las Vegas some casinos are accepting Bitcoin I don't see any reason why Macau won't do the same :)

Nope, at Macau bitcoin wasn't accepted at all. You have to use cash to exchange into chips and use them to play. In other way, you could sell your Bitcoins into cash to exchange the chips. It's ok anyway unless you're broke.

Yeah I heard about that one it's just near from my country Philippines I think it just cost a 100 bucks just to get there from my country. I've never been there before but as far as I know it really a gambling paradise just like Las Vegas and all day and night long business casino there are operating. My favourite place to go to but not for gambling either but to visit beautiful sites out there they have such nature good for visiting and maybe there comes a time I will be there.

I'm from Asia but I had been to Las Vegas already but so far didn't go to Macau. In Vegas also didn't gamble but just walk around to strip and enjoy that environment for one evening. So far I never gamble in the real casino and my gambling experience is only online.

It's more close to Asia rather than Las Vegas. It's awesome that you have been to Las Vegas because I think that has been the part where there are a lot of gamblers that are gathering and making the profits there. In Macau, I think there are more people there because of the place it has, being in Asia or something. It's fun if you are for entertainment.

Macau being the administrative region located in the east of China is known as Las Vegas of Asia. Many people actually have no idea that this little city has 33 physical casinos the best among all of them is obviously Venetian Macau. I haven't been to Macau yet but it is one of my biggest dreams to visit there and enjoy both the natural beauty, meeting with the inhabitants of that place and obviously going into the casinos playing poker, roulette and a lot many other games despite of any fear to lose.

You are so close, yet you didn't have a chance. I think it's okay because there are plenty of times that you could visit if you give the time to it, just don't go there without an agenda because it might cause you a waste of your time. I think you could just get a ferry so that you can go to Macau or something like that.

What's sad about it? If you are a real life gambler you did missed a big chance of your life to visit the place since you are only near to it. Well I live farther than you to Macau and it's also my desire to get into Macau one day. But because I'm too busy with my daily life, paper works, meetings and appointments I can't set up a schedule to travel for this year, maybe next year I will have my very lite schedule and I can get there one day.

Macau has one of the best casinos around the world. it is famous for gambling and my wish is to visit it at the end of this year just as a assort of vacation trip and also get a chance to visit those casinos physically. despite of being famous for casinos Macau has also a complete set of distinction whether it comes to the friendly atmosphere nature’s beauty and co operative natives. so I think that it is one of the biggest dreams of all gamblers to visit Macau at least once in their life.

It's like a gambler's paradise there. About 33 casinos squeezed into a small island.
That is one place where I will never go to when it comes to a vacation. I think I will only go there when I think I have enough money to blow and do things that I wouldn't normally do in my dream world and since it's a small island in think the beaches will be great.

It is in China right?
I did not think a communist country will allow people to freely gamble like this if they can not take most of that money for the country cafurs.
That is what communism is based on after all.
All about the strength of the country and let the citizens suffer if that makes the government richer thus making it's economy=country stronger than all the rest.
Atleast this is how I see it.

Macau is famous just because of its ground based casinos. The area has got the attention of many gamblers and 25 of the houses are among the top list in the rankings. I have been to Macau only once but just for the sake of a business meeting therefore due to some busy schedule I didn’t get the chance to visit there and pay gambling .but let it be a dream for future that is possible to get fulfilled.
