Title: [SCAM][Resolved] BetOpen not processing withdrawal of 0.93 Bitcoin (Settled)
Post by: M0w on June 02, 2017, 11:38:30 AM
What happened::
Two weeks ago on May 20th I requested a withdrawal of 0.93040 Bitcoin at sportsbook BetOpen.co. It's been two weeks since I requested this payout, and the withdrawal is still pending.

Scammers Profile Link:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=958484

Reference Link:
https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1812350.msg18054262#msg18054262

Amount Scammed:
0.93040 BTC

Payment Method:
Bitcoin

Proof of Payment:
https://i.imgur.com/qeo7Z05.png

PM/Chat Logs:
I have contacted BetOpen multiple times, either via e-mail or here on Bitcointalk.org, and they simply seem to ignore my messages:

Could you take a look at my withdrawal? Requested on 20-5 but not processed yet. Withdrawal ID 85

It's been 10 days so far and still no response to my withdrawal...

Additional Notes:
The owner account: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=958484 is still responding to other topics. They have started an ICO, in which I'm being ignored as well:

What the hell, you are running an ICO when in the mean time I'm still waiting for my withdrawal on your website to be processed? Also, the owner is not responding to any of my messages. Are you using this ICO to gather even more funds without paying your users?

Could you take a look at my withdrawal? Requested on 20-5 but not processed yet. Withdrawal ID 85

It's been 10 days so far and still no response to my withdrawal...

I will leave negative feedback to user BetOpen and hope that everybody will stay away from this website until the withdrawal is processed.

Update: After one month the withdrawal is now processed.

Good to see this being resolved by BetOpen. And you're not making any exudes up which is great because there are simply so many sports books out there that don't process withdrawals and makes up absurd claims and abuses their terms and conditions.

Both parties should update here when the issue is fully resolved.

Yes, but while it is not resolved, it is just a matter of time. This is a big misunderstanding, we never intented to not pay, and hopefully it will be soon part of the past :) !

"Will be resolved soon"

"Just a matter of time"

It's been over two weeks now, why does this need to take this long and why can't you give an ETA?

What's the reason for the delay then? And, if you "never intended to not pay" then what happened to your support?
It's interesting that you didn't respond until after there was a scam accusation. Shouldn't have let it get this far, especially with your ICO and all.

I hope it doesn't take until the end of your ICO to have this resolved.  ;D

Please address the concerns of your players and show us that BetOpen isn't just another scam-my sports book.

No, it will be resolved very soon. I will be frank, if we did not pay this was because there was a bug in the processing code, which affected his account. It has now been resolved, and we will pay him manually, this is just a question of time. But currently, all the team has been hard-testing the ICO software for hours, so we have not been able to make the payment. It will be processed soon.
I did not respond because I could not certify him any delay, since at this time code was still not fixed, which now is.
For all this troubles he will of course get a compensation in BETOP and Bitcoin.

We really hope that you will forgive us, this is really that we did not planned. Your payment will be issued soon. As we hope you can understand, ICO becoming closer and closer, we have to test it all a few more time to ensure everything works as planned, thus your payment will be in some time. But be sure it will be processed very soon, and you will receive it in the coming day.

So it is now 'the following day'. Has BetOpen paid you back, Op? Or are they still making up excuses, such as it'll be processed asap etc. I hate it when that happens.

And it seems like he is using the same excuses for not updating the Twitter campaign spreadsheet, etc. Citing that he is focusing on testing the site and stuff. Why can't you just pay OP back? Do you not have the money?

And yes, it will be very soon, settled, after we launched ICO, because now we are in the hard-testing phase.

They need to collect money from stupid fools and use that to pay you hahaha

when depositing no problems.
If I get the money I will write here, but I see there are others like me.

Unfortanetly I think you got scammed.

First of all their campaign manager has not been online for 2 weeks now. And nobody has any interest in their project anymore, it's basically a dead project, and the community manager obviously is "dead" as well.

Secondly, greenenergy after doing some research is a farmed account. Go to this post: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1597201.msg16575115#msg16575115. It is very likely that Betopen bought this account to promote their company and be more legit.

I really do hope that i'm wrong about this. But things just don't add up here.

Note the broken English and there is nothing in there that says they will pay you what you are owed.

I am sure only the winning portions were cancelled.  Your loss stays.  Probably need ICO to even pay you guys.

I actually got my withdrawal paid as of now but the won bet is still cancelled. If they show me they can be fair and a legit site with the support as well, I might actually start using them but as long as my bet is cancelled, not gonna happen.

Most probably. Or that they are just not bothered to pay you. Either way I think that there is very little chance that will will get paid back, unfortunately.

Their excuse of being very busy with their Ico and thus not being able to pay you back was just a strategy to gain more time until their ICO launches and they can get a nice chunk of coin and most probably, run away with both your and investor coins.

Seems like indeed they have paid CCN to do an article on them. So they probably do have coin but isn't willing to pay back people with it. I'm sorry that you had to go through this OP.

BetOpen is a confirmed scam now, there is no legit casino that is will waste so much time(almost a month now, in fact) of the players, just to get a withdrawal that they deserved in the first place.

Still no word and yet they are starting their ICO today...

This is an interesting piece of evidence that Betopen is indeed a scammer. If they are a legit company, why would they need to have a farmed account to do the promoting for them? As you said they probably bought this account in the hopes of making them look more legit.

Shouldn't DT members tag them already since no responses have even been heard from them? Greenenergy(the "official promoter") has not been on since 4th June either.

The saddest part about this entire thing is that he's owed less than 1 BTC.  If a 'company' cannot pay that then...probably some kid in his mom's basement trying to ripoff others.

Nice to see that you finally got paid, but it's very disappointing that BetOpen needs 20 days to process a somewhat small withdraw. This case seems like a similar one to fun-casino, which ran on a fractional reserve and needed to wait for other deposits to pay out a big winner. My guess is that BetOpen needed to wait for ICO investors and people to lose BTC, so they could pay you.

BetOpen should definitely sign a message from their cold storage address (or any address) with a large number of coins to show that they are solvent, and have the funds to payout winners as I'm sure many people would avoid them because of the accusation.

Thankfully you were paid back.

I wouldn't recommend anyone else to use BetOpen still because it has been demonstrated that they basically neglected this case until their ICO is around. If there was no ICO they probably wouldn't have paid anything back.

As Darkstar suggested, i think that signing a message that is holding at least say, 50BTC of user funds is necessary. Otherwise they are essentially running a ponzi scheme, aka your depsoit is paying others withdrawals.

Bad idea. If this was a scam, then after the ICO the scammers have their money and have no incentive to pay back anyone. @sedna, open a scam accusation just like OP has done, so you can get your money back (hopefully).

I was seriously considering investing in the ICO but wanted to do a little checking up before pulling the trigger. I too saw the paid ICO news post and it sounded really good, on paper. Hearing that people are having no issue depositing and betting but can't get their money out without delays and public posts has turned me away for sure. It may not be a scam, but could simply be gross incompetence. Neither is a good sign for investing.

I don't think 50 BTC is nearly enough, since they have pretty high limits. Exposing a large percentage of your bankroll per single bet at max stake is a horrible idea. I'm pretty sure they allow 1 BTC bets @ 4, so I'd expect them to have at least 200 BTC.

I think he meant it kinda like a a joke, since he said that he doesn't think they have the BTC to pay him. Given their dumb excuses for not paying earlier, that is most likely true.
