The difficulty has tripled so expect the price to rise even more.

Not just that, but I noticed people who got lots of them are buying even more. Something's up with BBQcoin, still haven't figured out what though  ???

It must be confirmed now to be in the next few days or something, because those exchange rumors have been floating around for a while now.

This is by far the highest I've seen the difficulty.  I normally try to keep at least one small rig of mine mining BQC.  But today I've shifted a few more.  BQC is about to finally get its moment in the sun it looks like.  There are so many that are just now finding out about the coin, it can't help but continue to go up in both price and difficulty.

Just checked out bbqcoin.org, they've even updated the site.

Wow, the net hash rate jumped from like 30MH/s to over 84 MH/s in the last couple hours.  What's going on?

Difficulty above 1 and there are only 44 BBQ per block!

I checked the bbqcoin.org forums, one user said that they e-mailed bter.com about adding BQC, and they said that they will: http://forum.bbqcoin.org/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=1239

Quote
Yes I emailed them today and asked if they had plans to add BBQ. Their reply was "yes, we are going to do that."

And the difficulty is 0.99 now, wow! :o

They think its going to exchange. People forget

a. This was the original "junk coin"
b. Pre-mined to the clappers
c. Suffered 51% attack
d. No one knows how many coins are around.

This will get exchanged and then taken off from he biggest dump in history.

A lot of people deleted their wallets after the 51% attack. Plus the few remaining people who have over 100k BQC have been selling them off over the last 2 months on bbqcoin forums, usually in lots of 10k (You can even go and ask captchadd, he is the biggest BQC holder. He has sold a lot of them recently). It's likely that there is less BQC floating around than there is FTC.

Yeah, this thread seems to have suddenly helped cause a major increase in hashrate. Looks like I may have just sped up its inveitable revival. Idk if I should be happy or sad that I'm making less by mining. ;)

When I checked a couple days ago, ub3rl33t had over 90% of the BBQcoin network hash power. The centralization had me worried, but it looks like the recent increase in the network hash rate may be helping to improve that. Now, it looks like ub3rl33t is only around 60% of the hash rate.

I'd like to know though, are there a lot more solo miners or is another pool gaining a lot of hash power?

isn't a 51% attack exactly what almost killed it before? D: starting up my solo miner.

Post by: thaile4ever on May 05, 2013, 05:58:48 AM
Well I think that's because the only other pool I know of is down.

This makes a lot of sense! I thought this would happen after Feathercoin, MNC and CHN went on exchanges as the coin is doing well and as the points mentioned about deleted wallets now and the fact the coin has built a following up.

I've got my rig back on this and looking forwards to how things are building.

I would set up another P2Pool, but my CNC P2Pool got my VPS suspended due to a DDoS attack.

Title: Re: BBQCoin Difficulty Rising
Post by: BBQKorv on May 05, 2013, 07:12:56 AM
We need a good P2Pool for this, something like NovaCoin has. Standalone program for easy and real P2P usage and not just a www node for someones P2Pool which is easy to ddos down.

Exchange rumor is not just a rumor, it's a matter of a little wait and there is atleast one exchange from the very respectable vircurex folks.

captchadd, he is the biggest BQC holder. He has sold a lot of them recently

How many millions has he sold?

Out of how many millions he held?

I have sold less than a million myself, because no exchanges have opened yet.

DId he sell more than just a few of his millions or all of them or what?

People haven't stopped mining it, the hash rate is doing fine.

The only problem I see with BBQcoin is it doesn't fetch a fair price compared to some other alt-coins. The exchange rate gamblers are just not into it. There is an oversupply of coins compared to demand.
