I heard some folks on Quora that bitcoin is going to die but blockchain is the future. What do you guys think of this?

Oh, some folks on Quora said that? Then sell sell sell, it is definitely going to die if they say so!
I think that Blockchain is the future, but Bitcoin is the original blockchain, I would be surprised if Blockchains take over the world, but Bitcoin is somehow dead in the water.

It 'could' lose it's number one spot, but if it is worth $10,000 and isn't number one, I think I could live with that.

Quaroa users WHO? these are bored users who know nothing and I mean absolutely nothing about Bitcoin. Tell me under which circumstances would it die, countries are adopting it and people are using it so why in the world would it die? Look rumors are started and spread by fools and next time you want to read something about Bitcoins, just search it here, at least most if not all know what they speak here. So relax and buy or do whatever you wish with your coins. Bitcoin is here to stay forever.

I could say the exact same thing about fiat but that won't make anyone sell his money. It's better to not listen to anyone honestly unless we are facing some serious issues on the development of bitcoin and that's currently not the case. Do whatever you feel comfortable doing but you shouldn't cry If It happens and the price skyrocket after you sell everything you get, that's the rule.

I dont know about quora but i dont think that bitcoin will die anytime soon . Irs only a rumor dont get to serious about it just continue gaining bitcoins and sell,now is the good time to sell and stop wasting your time with others.

Just some folks on quora that knows nothing they are saying. It is either they are clueless or they are just some wannabe speculators. Either way, if by now, someone thinks bitcoin is going to die, then they should contact me if they want to sell theirs and I'm ready to buy everything at cheaper rates though since you are the scared one.

Well you can hear and read it anywhere in the internet even in this forum, many users made a thread same like those phrase you heard, and  as long its just a rumor then it will stay as a rumor unless there is someone made or some proofs to be displayed that this things will happen soon.

Bitcoin died so often in the past few years regarding media and Bitcon haters. And yet it is here and delivers big!!
My advise is you stop reading such nonsense and do your own research.
The higher Bitcoin's price will rise the more some typical type of humans will try to spit on it. It may be because they are watching it for many years already and never bougt in and therefore feel extremely pissed now or they are keepers of the old system and all their money and wealth is stored into that.

I've always heard Bitcoin will die especially when the congestion in the blockchain was at 200k+ and the threads from years ago saying bitcoin's gonna die like how many times does people have said that but as always bitcoin proves itself again and again that he is still alive and will live long.

The OP should have included in his post the links from Quora's talks so that we can analyze and their logic (if there's any) whether they have facts and proofs to support their prediction -- what made them think that it's going to die.

as everyone here said, bitcoin had died so many times it's uncountable.
you can just see how many people still believe in this coin to understand how live it is.

Those are just rumors and will continue to be with us as long as bitcoin is with us which I hope is forever. These rumors have been said from different sources and have surpassed more than 100 times now written in different malign online articles against bitcoin. What you should worry is how to keep your bitcoins safe and work for it to collect as many as you can, but as for the rumors we cannot do anything about them, we cannot stop them, we can ignore them.

the fact is, we don't know what the future holds for bitcoin. for the near future. the answer is no, bitcoin is strong and it is getting stronger each day as more people adopt it. specially when multiple big and developed countries had mass adopted bitcoin.

for the long term, like in 50 years, nobody can say anything. bitcoin may be dead or used instead of fiat or even be the same as today.

These rumors can only spread by those who do not use bitcoin or its competitors. Bitcoin is going to take a few more countries, which will greatly strengthen it, and not vice versa.

Probably not a natural death unless caused by insecure or Jealous souls. Bitcoin is an excellent currency with promising future. It is the solution to loads of unsolved problem. I don't see why it should die now or in the future.

I would definitely have to say that I think Bitcoin is going to die in the future. Not the near future, but the very distant future that none of use will be here to experience. In 2140, when the block reward is so little, the transaction fees will be insanely high and no one would use Bitcoin anymore. That is my view at least.

LOL. People have been saying this all over this forum that bitcoin has dead or already died. Bitcoin will not die. Don't believed on everything you say on the Internet. And as far as blockchain is concern, yes they are the future because a lot of industries, banking, pharmaceutical and other sectors are studying bitcoin and how it will help them make the job easier.

Disregard that rumor its been around for a long time and we still see Bitcoin price keep rising up. What i think of those rumors, they are used so that people will dump a lot of Bitcoin so that the price will go down then they will take that opportunity to buy and wait for bitcoin to rise and resell them.

This rumors are always present, ever since the Bitcoin has appeared. I remember they were saying this is just an experiment, it will not last, it will fail until tomorrow and similar. And Bitcoin is still here. It can change and transform but it will not die.

Rumors are rumors, and probably this is just one of the strategy for some to take advantage because people would tend to panic sell the bitcoins they currently are holding. But whether the rumors are true or not, I doubt bitcoin will ever die.

Bitcoin won't die but can become a highly centralized sub-company of Bitmain and to some people (and me), that's same as dying.

I wish AMD, Nvidia or some other brand starts to produce ASICs as soon as possible. If Bitmain don't have any competitors, they will own >%50 of the hashpower eventually.

Think about it, when you buy an antminer, Bitmain gets your money upfront. Bitmain gets its ROI instantly. Their stocks are always empty. Means, instant ROI.

You wait for a year to have your ROI and your hardware becomes obsolete in 2 years. 3 if you are lucky. All you depend on is, bitcoin's possible price hikes in the future. If you are going to depend on bitcoin's price hikes only, then why wouldn't you just buy them? It is the same thing.

So bitmain takes your money upfront. They buy bitcoins with that money and increases their shares, they build more miners, they set the industry standard with ASICBOOST, they sell you even more, see where i am getting at? Bitmaincoin is incoming.

If there won't be any competing companies any time soon, bitcoin will turn into Bitcoin Unlimited eventually.

Same predictions has been made on several occasions all over the place and on this forum too but btc is still live and kicking

People will just spread rumors regarding that, but Bitcoin will not going to die as long as people will still be using it .
As times goes by ,btc still increases but we never know when will it rise or going down.

It's not gonna die in the nearest future, maybe in 5 - 10 years. But there, perhaps will be another currency and everybody will switch to it by that time.

I absolutely agree. Maybe in the far far future bitcoin will lose it's number one spot to Ethereum, or to another crypto we don't know yet, but bitcoin will never be abandoned completely. With all those problems bitcoin is having recently it would be already abandoned if that was possible.

People tend to forget that BTC is the legendary coin that first introduced the block chain technology. Of course some alts are better than BTC that's why alts are created but BTC is still reigning in the top I think that because even if they first heard about altcoins they will know BTC too and because BTC is the coin, the myth the legend they will invest on it making its demand much larger.
And 10000$? That price is a dream to me and I'm satisfied if BTC is only third or 25 on the list if it has that price.

I have lost count of the thread which mentioned that bitcoin will be die or even die. I think they are just too jealous or hate bitcoin, however i might agree with them that blockchain is the future we all know that there are some companies which interested on this technology and working on it but if they said that bitcoin would be die well i don't think so. what you have heard is what we call FUD. aka Fear Uncertainty and Doubt. when the time is right, you start spreading it and create panic in the market, then the newbies also known as weak hands start panic selling and you buy their coins at a cheaper price!

how much this works depends on who is spreading it and how. and as time goes by more people catch on this weird and stupid technique and the effects will be lower.

It is just a baseless rumor, as you can see by yourself the price is so stable and many people is using bitcoin, as long as there are people using bitcoin, it will never die, and now the price is keep on rising, so it is not true at all

Not just in quora, even here in bitcointalk you can read post predicting that bitcoin will die. But you have to act on what you believe about bitcoin and blockchain and not what the noise tells you. There will always be fud posts like that.

Blockchain is the technology behind bitcoin. As long as the technology keeps up with the time and the changes of the future, it will be fine.

These are just rumors, but no one can guarantee that bitcoin will live forever. At the moment, there is no cause for concern, it is developing well. Perhaps in about 100 years it will be possible to talk about his death.

Rumors are just rumors where most of them are baseless claims. Someone can easily spread rumors just post it numerous times on different forums and websiter and, poof!, we have a latest rumor circling the community. It is still best to neglect rumors without evidence to support the claims and in order to be safer, monitor every news and happenings, that will lead you worry-free.

That is hoax. Bitcoin will never die I promise it. There is no reason that bitcoin will die in the cryptocurrency world. That is really impossible that the bitcoin will die. The bitcoin is really important in the crypto world.

Wouldn't be surprised if developers adopt the Ethereum model just to stay ahead of future competition. Bitcoin could end up being  Ethereum,  Moneroe and Bitcoin put together.

Why not tell them to sell their Bitcoin,  It had been many years since this propaganda bitcoin is going to dies stuff started and yet bitcoin had been going strong.  In fact price had increased exponentially even with this kind of news.  Probably they are spreading FUD to catch all the cheap bitcoins out there.

Do you have see history of cryptocurrencies in the past 10 years? Bitcoin have very more time look like as died, but it not, why? Because user in the World's will not let anyone or country can do that, they will buy all Bitcoin when the price fall down and restore the price to real value very soon!

ive always heard it from many people at many times, i think as long as they think that bitcoin will die soon, it will live for more years to come, bitcoin overcomes many problems , from scratch to riches it improves itself to ours, i think there were no permanent thing in this world but we can earn bitcoins for many years to go because it can now face them all issues and challenges.

You have to remember that there are people out there who want Bitcoin to die for many reasons. Here are some of the reasons :

~ They are invested in other Alt coins < they are the competition >
~ They work for services that are being disrupted by Bitcoin : MoneyGram / Western Union / Banks
~ They are butt hurt because they lost money with poor decisions or they are late for the party.
~ They want the price to go down, for them to buy more coins at a cheaper price.
~ They are paid shills, working for companies or governments that wants Bitcoin to fail.

This is just some of the examples, why people are doing this. We are still alive and kicking after all these rumors. ^smile^

If so that's fine because it's the technology and adoption of the blockchain that's most important. HOWEVER. I don't think Bitcoin is going to die, the community is way too passionate about it and it's growing everyday.

Me too. Really, why to be against that situation when other crypto holders make more money than bitcoin holders if bitcoiners make a lot too?

What we can say for sure is that bitcoin will not die and that probably it will rise compared to USD, but we can't say whether it will always be number one crypto.

yes you are right there is no reason for bitcoin to die because bitcoin is using by the people to get a good opportunities, they are getting very much benefits from bitcoin and made bitcoin as their source of income and also the bitcoin is now at the development stage and everyone like to invest their money and also countries are going to accepting it one by one.

You are right no one will agree because bitcoin will not die, it is providing many opportunities in the form buying and selling. Now many countries start adopting bitcoin it means there are many good opportunities and right many stores are accepting it.

There is no indication that bitcoin will die soon and due to the fact that bitcoin users increased from time to time and it seems more countries start to adopt it, hence such rumor is only a hoax for me.

As you can see, Bitcoin is now close to impossible to die, there are so many people that is using bitcoin as a mode of payment and also as their internet currency. And as we can see, this time, the bitcoin's demand is too high, and wil rise and rise in the future. I disagree with that person.

Bitcoin has a strength that can last for a long time. Everyone believes that the digital currency can replace the cash currency. There is no reason to mention that bitcoin will die and disappear in the world.

That's actually funny. There's another thread that addresses this rumours which media have been revealed that releasing such article that says "Bitcoin is dead" for so many times. That's just an ugly fact that the media themselves trying to make bitcoin have a bad image amongst people by just giving out unreasonable and nonsense news.
And the truth is here, bitcoin's market cap overwhelmingly in just recent time and even increasing its value which means have higher demands compared to long ago.

Although in theory anything can happen, I agree that chances for bitcoin to disappear are small. Bitcoin is comparatively a new thing and it's healthy so it will live, and rather older things will die.

The rumors have been afloat since 2014 due to the stagnation of price on bitcoin. Right now, we are nearing $3000 and yet the rumors are still looming. Seriously, whatever growth bitcoin receives, bashers and fudsters would still find a way to claim that bitcoin is dying and there is no hope saving it whatsoever. I'd say put your money where your mouth is and don't listen to people but listen more to your judgment and analysis about the matter.

We'll be seeing this every year unleast once and it reminds me of world of warcraft situation throughout the years. With every new expansion, people saying "wow is dead" and yet still has the playerbase of millions.

I always tend to ignore these news because they're something that's following things tat have gotten big in the recent years and we will be seeing this a lot more with every inconvenience that hits bitcoin.

Quora can be edited by anyone - it merely represents their opinion but rarely the truth. So don't take people too seriously on there. I agree to some extent with him, if bitcoin continues to have rising transaction fees and full blocks then bitcoin is indeed going to drop in popularity. However right now although teh problem is widespread it's not that big of a problem yet. Bitcoin is the first crypto and blockchain based currency. So if bitcoin fails, then it'll be extremely unlikely that others will rise and take bitcoin's place.

I agree with you, of course bitcoin will not die if bitcoin users in various countries are still there and still doing transactions. Indeed the foundation of bitcoin strength is certainly support of its users spread in various countries.

Many people believe that bitcoin is just trending now but it has no future. May be this is due to the way it has risen so fast and gaining popularity. Personally, I feel it still has a future to its unique way in transactions. Unless there is a group of people who trying to influence its price for their own gain, I believe people will adopt bitcoin worldwide and thus become accepted everywhere. In this way, it will have cemented its presence and can be used even by governments.

There are many times that people make bitcoin died.There were lots of articles who totally posting that bitcoin is dead or will die but then supporters do not compromise to rumors around.

There is no point believing them, it is just a bunch of bored people on Quora who probably have zero to none knowledge about bitcoin, and of course it is all rumors which don’t have much evidence supporting it. These rumors have been around since bitcoin first boomed. They just want to take advantage of you and make sure you sell low and lose money. No not believe anyone but yourself. Everything has haters no matter what it is and how successful it is. Just ignore them and go on with your life.
 
I do think that maybe in 20 years bitcoin will probably not be on anymore since it would be old tech but in the next couple of years I would love to see bitcoin grow and I have no doubt that bitcoin will be number one for at least 5 more years.

Majority of times the people who missed out on the opportunity on making some good money or collect some coins come up with these sort fake news ,so that they could quench their thirst of missed opportunity and create some commotion to the new users coming into bitcoin, it is really a physiological issue and nothing can be done for these sort of issues. :D

I think not just many times, most of the time and everytime the news about fork and stuff are circling around. We can't blame them if they can't take the volatility of bitcoin, and it is really needed to be developed, we must come to solutions that will improve bitcoin. If bitcoin will die, I think it will just be revived in an instant.

Rumors will be just rumors unless tough proof or evidences are stated. We cannot simply say that bitcoin will die in the future because we don't know the future yet. If the basis is the current events on the bitcoin industry in saying that bitcoin will die soon, it's still not sure. Because the rise and down of the price is just normal in the market industry. We must believe in the positive way of earning rather than thinking of the negative. Also, it's all just rumors anyway.

Bitcoin will never die  but the price of bitcoin can be crash in instant but because of many bitcoin supporters and waiting for low price its impossible that bitcoin will crash to the highest price since many people are waiting for low price they will buy more bitcoin once they seen the price is low.
