Post by: lovejoel on June 08, 2017, 06:43:53 PM
the online wallets are not safe much, so how exchanges like cex.io, btc-e,bitstamp stores their bitcoins and other altcoins? if they use cold storage how the transactions works automatically? how do they protect them self from hacking?

Cold storage, at least I hope it's a general practice with Exchanges. They don't store on web servers to avoid any intrusion on the system that would make possible to steal the bitcoins. It's not entirely true as in fact, they keep a minimal amount to anticipate withdrawals. And if there is an intrusion the impact will be very less important

This means someone actually runs around with a USB stick to get the transactions from cold storage broadcasted?
