Title: multy wallet
Post by: mOgliE on June 10, 2017, 12:24:03 PM
Hello people,

I'm mainly into btc but I also have a few altcoins.
I'd like to know if there is desktop wallet like electrum but that is able to hold multiple kind of coins?
I post it in the BTC section because I want it to be able to hold BTC too, just BTC AND some altcoins like XRP or DGB.

I'm pretty satisfied with electrum but I don't want to see get multiple wallet softwares if I can avoid it.

Thanks in advance!

Yes there is, this is probably exactly what you're looking for: https://jaxx.io/
Supports the most popular cryptocurrencies and they're still adding support for more.

There are a few alternatives you could use:

Jaxx for PC/Mobile - https://jaxx.io
Exodus for PC - https://www.exodus.io
Coinomi for Android - https://coinomi.com

I've seen some people complaining about bugs on Jaxx but even that I never had any issue, be careful if you try it.

I already used it for some time, but stopped for one reason that you should know about before turning it to a issue for you: They don't allow you to customize your fees.

If you don't care at all, I think Exodus is a awesome wallet with a solid design and easy to use. Otherwise, you can end up paying a lot on fees if you receive a lot of dust payments from time to time, increasing the number of inputs for your future transactions.

I explained how this can become a issue the same it became with me in one of my posts in the unofficial Exodus thread. https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=1766679.msg19359056#msg19359056

I already suggested them to enable this feature in the future, so let's hope for it.

Once I was advised to Bitcoin a wallet with multiple capabilities. The coinomi wallet has all the existing crypto-currencies in it And, moreover, you can add your coin names. This is a multi-purse and many users have been using it for a long time.

But coinomi is only for mobile though.

It's a really good wallet and I'd say they have the biggest range of altcoins to deal with.
But I'm not sure there is a desktop version...
Or at least I use it only on mobile.
If anyone has a desktop link I'm interested too ^^

Ok thanks for the heads up!
I won't have lots of dust payments. It's mainly to manage my BTC/Altcoin trading.
I don't want to keep important amounts of altcoins on an exchange if I want to keep them for a while, it's not secured enough.

I'll try exodus then I think! Even if they don't support everything it might be good enough.

No one has an idea of a wallet accepting a bit more altcoins though? ^^
Because both jaxx and exodus don't accept more than 15. That's great but not enough :3

Thank you, but I not see Exodus support to receive XRP or DGB! And when use it, do I have to sync data Blockchain? I very like display of Exodus Wallet :D
About Jaxx I hear my friends used it and get more bugs too

I think the ethereum wallet can hold most types of token altcoins, currently, it can be considered as the most versatile wallet, in exceptional circumstances, we can add token of another coin.

But... it's a beta no?

I mean here:
https://www.ethereumwallet.com/index.html

It says that it's just a beta release. Anyone tried it already?

I don't know if that is legit. I use one for ethereum called myetherwallet aka mew lol

Also I've heard that jaxx is pretty good and exodus is an up and comer.

The key is controlling your own private keys. Don't leave money in exchanges, for example poloniex only allows 2I usd withdrawal per day. What if poloniex gets hacked or investors lose confidence. Do you want to be stuck only able to take out 2k

Poloniex is the worst
