Title: Claymore sees only 4 cards
Post by: KaelBo on June 14, 2017, 07:09:00 PM
Hi all,

I'm mining with a rig where the Claymore can't see the 5th card.
- 5 Saphire Nitro 8gb rx 480
- Asrock H81 motherboard
- casual other shit

I tried to:
- start with claymore 9.3 / 9.0 / 9.5
- start without the GPU settings in the start.bat
- plug and move around the cards (all PCIe slots and all cards mine properly if only 4 are plugged)
- windows virtual memory set to 16g+

What do I miss? Can you help me to solve this?

Regards,
Kael

Does Windows recognize all the cards?

Open up the Device Manager and make sure all 5 cards are listed there.

If not, you may not have installed Windows in UEFI mode and have 'Above 4G Encoding' enabled.

Could be a number of issues to be honest.. I've had my rigs only pick up on 4-5 cards before for reasons like bad risers, bad cables, multiple psu's.. Troubleshoot everything you'll find it extremely useful in the end.

Try a different operating system also, maybe run Linux.. I haven't had any issues since I installed Linux personally and i've been a windows/mac user my whole life.

Also make sure your BIOS settings are setup correctly for 6 cards.

What is your specific motherboard model? Is it the Asrock H81 Pro BTC or some other model that's not designed for GPU mining? The more specific details you can provide the better the help can be. ;)
