Title: Coins with Masternodes
Post by: gildman on June 30, 2017, 05:37:54 PM
Hi there,

I'm currently fascinated with the concept of masternodes and looking for new / cheap coins that offer this.
My budget for investing would be around 1000$.

So far I found the following coins that would match:

Boolberry
Chaincoin
Bitradio

However all of them are dead in my eyes.
Any suggestion would be much appreciated!

Prepare yourself for ZEN nodes, it will be required only 42 coins for one master node, requirements for this node are thrown on hardware which makes it very complex to create more than one on one PC. This is major difference when you compare others coins. Also i think those nodes will be much more secure than usual.
Cloak Team considering some sort of nodes to add in their code.

PIVX
BitSend

PIVX is already 10'000 coins à 0.2$, however is staking it profitable at all?

That sounds really interesting, what are the hardware requirements? I couldn't find rough specs on the website sadly. Also where did you find out about the cloak-team? How many coins are used to run the masternode?

MUE is a good one that you can get in on . You may not get a Masternode for that much as it takes 500k for that. But you can get a share of a MN for 10k MUE on mymue.com . Very easy to get involved and it is relatively cheap too!

That looks like an interesting concept. However as far as I understood there is no quaranties that they will buy back the shares eventually, is that correct? I checked https://mymue.com/Policys/LA and found nothing. It looks like you spend your 10`000 MUE to buy a licence for the masternode.

Also https://mymue.com/Policys/ToS is referencing to an old/inactive website (https://cryptxsoftware.mp-hosting.co.uk)

So if that website goes down what would happen to my MUE?

At the moment, for  me! I think BSD is the best coin with Masternodes, But you need more than over 25.000 to do it

And this is quite a lot for this purpose, also i don't like it because large amount are held by development team, which also giving it through bounties and campaigns. I don't know why but i'm old-school investor and i give priority
for coins who are not premined or ICO distributed. Only really good thing is Lauda's involvement in that project.
Maybe i'm wrong i don't know, i won't say i don't watch it..

You might want to look into Wagerr (WGR) - it's a sports betting platform that I believe has a lot of potential.  It's currently only trading on the Waves DEX at around .06 cents and you will need 25,000 coins.  The waves token is just a temp coin until main net is released, then you will be able to exchange the waves tokens for the real WGR and setup a masternode if you have 25,000 coins.  I know your budget is only a $1000, but with the low volume on Waves DEX, you could setup a buy order around .04 cents and you might be able to snag the coins you need.  By the way, if you do decide to buy into WGR, make sure you only buy the Wagerr coin that has a green check mark next to it - on the waves DEX, there are scammers who create similar looking tokens in order to rip you off.

Honestly this is bad but I didnt read the TOS fully so I cannot answer your questions about it. But I do know that I could log in right now and sell a share of MUE and get 10k MUE for that. So yeah in essence your paying 10k MUE for a share of a MN but I dont know much beyond that at the moment.

Eternity Coin (ENT) only takes 1000 ENT for a masternode.  Right now that's $30 per masternode.  It says it earns about 7-10 ETN a day which is a great ROI.  Here is their official website: http://ent.eternity-group.org/

Not quite the answer you're looking for but you could consider Waves.  I believe you need 10,000 waves to setup a masternode but instead you could spend your $1000 and then lease your Waves to a node.

Incakoin (NKA)

Now you would need 10M coins to get master node up and running, but dev's are changing limit probably to 1M (based on recent discussion).

Price is only 0.00000018 BTC at the moment in Cryptopia.

You were ahead of your time buddy .. back when you posted this, you could have had a chain master node for $69 Now it is $3600.
You could have had  14.5 Chaincoin master nodes  for that $1000 - now you need at least $52,000
You could have turned that $1000 initial investment into $52,000 in less than 3 weeks.
Those 14.5 master nodes could have been paying out roughly $72.50 a day ($5 each for each node) - $2175 a month.
You could have recouped your original investment (not even factoring the over 5200% capital appreciation) in less than 14 days!

All from a coin that is, "dead in my eyes".

Hindsight is 50/50

EternityCoin looks to have a great ROI and is currently one of the least inexpensive to get started on owning a masternode.  What other coins are there that would still be a couple hundred or less to own a masternode?  I remember ChainCoin being $0.34 and thinking I should pull the trigger to own a masternode now it's fluctuating at $4-$6.  Looking to get in before the crowd.  Any suggestions?

Solaris coin (XLR) is looking for a developer who is able to code Masternodes. So, you might keep an eye on XLR, if you are looking for a coin with Masternode to invest. Sooner or later they are going to implement it. I for myself keep on mining it. Return is between 100$ -150$ per month with two 1080 TI's. Thats enough for the electrictity bill and a little extra.

As other people recommended on this thread, I would recommend pivx as its one of the closer masternode coins to dash.

What would be good if people made masternodes easier to setup. How about a one click link in a wallet from some of these coins. Than i would be more interested in setting up one.

Masternode is a hot trend. I think this will still be a trend in the coming months. If you keep a lot of altcoin, consider running a masternode for it. That will increase the value for your altcoin.

Masternode could have potential to get a large price, that is only if the people in that coin actually host a masternode for their network.
