How do this travelcoin can be integrated with travel agency around the world?

Total amount of coins being issued will be determined after the ICO. With each coin purchased a brother coin will be created and owned by Travelcoin. We structured it like this to avoid a major player purchasing all the coins, now that may seem like a good issue to have but we're certain that creating a larger user base and allowing as many people to participate as possible the bigger and faster Travelcoin will grow. Having it uncapped will allow both to happen, allows bigger players to still acquire whatever share they choose but also allows everyone else to obtain one as well. 2 members of the team are very largely involved in the tourism industry, one marketing wise and one on the tech side. Pearce Nemeth works at a travel insurance company and can ensure that the integration is much easier that thought. All the major travel agencies use 3 underlying chains of information to pull postings off of and put for sale on their own sites. yeah escrow since a lots of this crap happen inside ico with some honest escrow the project will be entrusted and investors have chance
to regain if ever things wont go according to the plan.

Doesnt look like a genuine ICO. The concept is good. Something for travel industry has a huge potential. I was planning to invest 1 ETH on this ICO and started browsing their website, didnt find a lot of details about the team. I also found grammatical errors here and there. Looks like they built everything in a rush and started the ICO too fast before anyone knew it.

It's somewhat unclear what Travelcoin is going to be. Will it cut the middleman? Will it be a loyalty program? How does it avoid double booking?


First of all Expedia, Hotels.com and trivago are all the same company. One could argue that trivago is public - but Expedia owns a majority stake in it. The 7.5% fee is also somewhat pulled out of thin air. OTA fees typically reach from 10-25% and Trivago isn't even an OTA it's a CPC meta-search platform.


"by handling the sale (contract) of the ticket between the ticket holder and the traveler" somewhat unclear whether it allows you to buy already issued tickets from ticker holders or actually source tickets from suppliers. The distribution ecosystem in travel is highly complex - would be interesting to hear what you do exactly, how you circumvent GDS, OTA, TAs, create a standard and have suppliers integrate into the platform.

As for the rest, all numbers seem to be pulled out of thin air. No actual sources. "In the News" section of your website links to 3 random articles about blockchain which have absolutely nothing to do with you. The services you're looking to provide are absolutely impossible to integrate into today's travel distribution system. Although your whitepaper and site is very unclear about what you're actually looking to book - why do you charge a 1% fee booking? Isn't it meant to be decentralized and free?

You're totally right. Travel is a major area in need of a proper blockchain application, but it's also highly political at the moment due to the duopolies which have formed around it over the years. They also seem to want to do everything, from paying for your bus ticket to space travel. Travel is a vast industry and bus ticketing infrastructure is vastly complex - check out the TfL - and moreover has nothing to do with hotel and flight bookings.

We welcome competition in the travel blockchain space, but are also highly critical of new projects which claim to be "BETTER THAN OTHER CRYPTOCURRENCY" without any real explanation of what they are doing and how they will achieve their goals.

Definitely space in the market for a travel based coin.

AFAIK none of the major travel services accept crypto-currency so even an intermediary/middleman crypto-currency + friendly site with a 1% fee would have a market.

As others have said the elements don't really come together on this though, maybe a little more time and particularly  1/2 members with high level experience at a major travel service provider would have made it more appealing. Good luck though

Did any investor transfer his coins to myetherwallet?

I invested -- I see the coins in my account on the Travelcoin site but I don't know how to get them to my wallet. Also, according to the roadmap, the coin is supposed to be listed on exchanges by now, but it's not.

Not sure what the status on this is yet -- I will give it a few more weeks before assuming I was scammed I suppose.

I definitely should have. Oh well, I wouldn't consider myself a crypto trader if I hadn't been scammed by an ICO before.

I will chalk it up as a learning experience and forget about it. At this point, I am sure this is a scam as I haven't received any kind of communication from Travelcoin staff.

EDIT (October 13, 2017) -- I managed to get my TRV into my ETH wallet. Still no communication from staff, but when you try to access your account on their website you are now presented with a private key and instructions on how to acquire your tokens.

This coin is still not listed on CoinMarketCap or on ANY exchanges -- I don't believe it ever will be.

No website changes of any significance either. If I had to guess the website will disappear when their hosting period ends and we will never hear another word from these guys again.
