What is the best and trusted wallet for lots of altcoins?

Myetherwallet for Ethereum based coins.

No other wallet is safer than the wallet created by the coin dev/team

only cold storage.
things aren't really different when it comes to storing an altcoin. so same as bitcoin the safest way to store them is using a cold storage. and that means paper wallet or anything else that offers cold storage. for example Trezor which is hardware wallet supports a couple of altcoins too.

if you search around there are tools for making paper wallets for most of the altcoins too. you just make it offline on a clean computer and then at the time of spending you just install the official wallet and sweep them.

Exodus is quite good. myether for ethereum based tokens. Waves light for waves based tokens.

I don't think we have any great multi wallets yet. I am waiting for the "smart wallets" to come out soon which will provide more security and flexibility.

I choose jaxx.io it is best wallet of altcoins, many altcoins be supported on there, bitcoins, litecoin, ethereum, ethereum classic and other, you can check on the website of jaxx.io in my experience it is safe wallets. It is simple, easy to be used for transaction of altcoins. The best feature of jaxx.io, that is support for smartphone devices is like android.

Jaxx and Exodus are wallet can keep more altcoin and Bitcoin. You can have private key and very easy, I recommend you should use Jaxx Wallet, it can storage more altcoins than Exodus, although have some news say Jaxx usually get issue

I'm only using the wallets recommended by the altcoin developers.

Just use the wallets created by the dev , these are the best.      And if you don't want to download so many wallets just use online wallets or trusted exchange sites.

There are many best wallet which secured your coins but there is no other best wallet of developers-made. They are the maker of the coin so they need to make alsoba wallet for it for customers.

it depends on the altcoin you're using. safest wallet for altcoin is the one that created by the dev. or do you mean exchanger wallet? try bittrex or livecoin it is good. but stay away from poloniex.

There's no much service provide a tons wallet for altcoins but if it's ethereum based tokens and waves assets then just go myetherwallet and waveswallet.io as long as you hold the private key then it wouldn't be a problem.

I thinks, all in one wallet is your exchange site or wallet provide by coin Dev! other wallet may be lost your coin!

All altcoin have thier own wallet before asking what wallet is safe to use, we need to know first what coin are you want to store before we can give you suggestions what kind of wallet it is.

When it comes to trust naturally you should be utilising the official wallet for whatever currency you're using.

If only there was something that married the security of official wallets with the aesthetics of some other wallets that would be excellent...

Never trust group wallets. Many coins = many ways things can go wrong

The safest wallet is the full node reference client of every individual coin that you're holding, backed up properly and on an airgapped PC (if you're paranoid).  You could also create paper wallets for them if you wanted.

The second best choice is to just hold it in a multi-coin software wallet like Exodus.  However, I would recommend storing some of them in other wallets and other PCs as a precaution.

Exchange wallet. It is the most simple and easy to use wallet which you can keep more than 200+ coins in it. Try to use bittrex because they are reliable and have more than 200 coins. Most of their coin are in the top 200 so there is nothing to worry about. However, I still suggest that you should use pc wallet for each specific coins because you can avoid hackers and malware

but i have only read people talk about  btc.ac wallet and jaxx to be among the few multicoin wallets

I don't think you'll find anything beside online ones. There isn't really much interest to programmers to create a multi wallet for a lot of alt coins. There isn't much need for them as most people don't really store altcoins. People just trade altcoins at exchanges. So your best bet is to just use trusted exchanges to hold all your altcoins.

Agree,I think the answer depends much about that,each wallet is geared towards being more secure that the rest,although that  may also exist secure multiwallets,so it is always best to do a good search before making a choice to avoid any kind of surprises, usually the top coins offer several alternatives,having said that,the situation depends on each in particular and maybe other times also depends on the time it takes as well as support from its developers.

I was looking for trezor and ledger nano s and one people on the forum addressed me to KeepKey. I'll check that out soon. There are many attacks and fraud. So a hardware wallet is needed at the moment. Hope, next time, they (ledger and trezor) make their stock wider.

Should I use Coinbase? it supports BTC, ETH and LTC

Coinbase is best for everyone to hold and exchange BTC, ETH and LTC at the moment, But i stiil used wallet created by the coin dev/team to store my coin! I thinks, this way this best at this times!

I am noob in the cryptocurrencies, but I use myetherwallet and I see it that a good choice because the most cryptocurrencies are based in ethereum and this wallet works with this network. I Still, I have not had issues with this wallet.

Very soon we'll probably see a universal smart contact-based wallet in which every altcoin will in it's own safe place.

I also used myetherwallet wallet for my alt-coins because it is recommended wallet for bounty campaign and also recommended of all of my friends.

I think Myetherwallet & waves are interesting enough to use.

I am currently using ledger wallet which is multi-currency supported. I just bought 1 ledger hardware wallet because i am not comfortable using the application wallets which is risky for me because of the possible hackers that can bypass my wallet and steal all of my coins.

The most secure will be paper wallets & cold  storage.

I saw somebody mentioned jaxx to be honest I wouldn't advise jaxx because it is known issue there that they don't encrypt your private keys therefore if anybody have an access to your device he/she can easily get your private keys.

For computer most popular multi-currency wallet is Exodus but here is the problem because they don't support vast amount of coins.  Exodus website: http://exodus.io/
Take a look at coinomi they support a lot of coins and are adding new coins + everything is encrypted with your password. I am using this wallet when I don't want to create cold storage for every single altcoin. The only drawback is because they are only available for android atm but are working on IOS and DESKTOP versions - it is unknown when will these versions be out. Don't use online wallets if you don't have to. Just look around what happened to some exchanges in the past. You need to trust coinabse with you funds they can freeze your funds or they can get hacked or have any other failure so you wouldn't be able to use them. They don't give you an option to extract your private keys. Understand the risks by using online wallets as your main wallet.

unfortunately the jaxx.io is still not support for lots of altcoins. Only the altcoins can be trusted that be supported by jaxx.io

Does website wallets keeping altcoins is really trusted?
For me, I really prefer altcoin own wallets. Of course they will create their own specially when they want their coins to be sold easily.
I just dont think it is really safe for a multi coin wallet.
Maintaining it could be a problem sometimes and the coins inside might get affected.

I use the exchange to store some or different types of altcoins to make it more simple and practical to directly trade. I've also used the altcoins desktop and I think it's something that is not simple and practical, because I really like something simple and practical.

I think the best wallet to store altcoin is Myetherwallet & waves that was quite interesting to use. in addition to the features of good and keamananpun also maintained properly, then I still believe to Myetherwallet to save my altcoin. There may still be good from the ;) :D

Honestly I love my ledger nano, of course you have to use it in some cases not all with MEW to access some token based coins. It secure fast and provides protection against phishing. Which hackers have used a lot of late to steal millions of MEW coins using a fake www address. SO be very careful, make sure your going to the real site and don't clink any forum or troll box, email links when dealing with your coins.

There are different platforms for each coin for me I am only using waveswallet.io and myetherwallet.com,

Just use the wallet developed by the main team/developer of the coin. No other wallet is as safe as the main wallet. You don't have full security of your coins on other third party wallets. But if you still want to use a wallet you can try exodus. Others recommending Jaxx - I won't. Have heard a lot of negative reviews about them.

myetherwallet for etherium transactions and for bounties that gives only token , jaxx and imtoken for direct etherium transactions , i already have a experience about that , the bounty I joined these past week , they only give tokens , and i didn't actually know that , and I already posted my wallet address which is my jaxx wallet , so i didn't received my 200$ worth of tokens so if you're planning to join in bounties try to use myetherwallet

Mostly in bounties campaign its really into myetherwallet and i read some with mist. Myethewallet is more recommended since it's secure and easy to use. Though some made their own portal for their ico along with bounties.

Better stay away from the exchanges as much as possible.

It depends on the value of altcoins. I love jaxx but sometimes I feel the native wallet of those coins are better and you can stake your coins in them. But too many wallets are a problem for my PC so it all depends on the value of those coins. Some are in exchanges so that I can sell them as soon as they reach a price.

For a small amount of altcoin you can afford the risk to keep it on echange. Some wallet are hardcore to sync with the network et very buggy. On exchange you'll be guaranted to be in the main blockchain and have access to your coins. But for TOP 20 altcoins it's worth to sync their wallet and store your privates keys locally.

For my ETH using Myetherwallet. It depends what altcoin you use, if i am better and safe is the one recommended by dev,

I use myetherwallet for ethereum based tokens.. it is because most of the altcoins are based in ethereum. Well i suggest you use wallets created by the devs of the altcoin if its not based on ethereum. But If you dont want so many wallets you can try to use Coinomi.

I would advice on Exodus(since you can install it on pc and do setup and then airgap that pc once you have all address and private keys and only if you wish to HOLD them for long period and not using the inbuilt Shape-shift.
Also if you want a wallet for collecting dust or mining rewards then don't use any multicurrency wallet ... they tend to increase the transaction charges since the addresses keep receiving small small amounts of transactions which are eventually compiled to block.
Use respective currency wallet for that or MEW for EC20 tokens. Hope it help ;)

Yes I'm currently using bittrex wallet and so far so good but I'm not planning to store my altcoins there for long term. I'm still using mew and electrum.

for saving lots of altcoins, i used coinomy, jaxx and coinpayment which we need to download into android phone. i don't know if coinomy or coinpayment is available for desktop computer but you can try to search in their website. so far, i don't have any bad experience with that wallets and i can save my coins in that wallet.

Depending on a certain coin on which platform does it use.If Etherium based then myetherwallet would be the best choice since you can store most of those coins on that wallet and i do like its security there are lots of ways to access the wallet. Just choose a particular wallet on which that altcoin belong. Just remember to keep safe the most important informations of a certain web wallet/desktop wallet.

If I plan to store longer my tokens I do not trust it in exchanges.
I have my tokens secured using Myetherwallet and Waves client only.
Good thing with waves is with their wallet you can directly trade with the tokens available.

I use the wallet in the exchanger because I think it's easier to trade, I don't have a wallet specifically for altcoin, and I also use MEW because most ico use eth platform.

My first wallet is jaxx i repent for using it  for the altcoin.

So this is a must try now if it can keep other coins.
My applications aee getting bloated for different alts that I own.
But this will be a risk if we put all the coins here.
