Title: Question about my wallet.
Post by: Incogious on May 10, 2013, 05:18:42 PM
Hello everyone, I have browsed this forum looking for a answer but finally decided to sign up to see if anyone can help me. I have around 4 Bitcoin that I want to put into storage for a long time. How would I go about this, to make sure they are secure. I was thinking about doing something like those Physical coins. Putting each coin on a bit of paper, but how would I do that.

Thanks.

What you're looking for is a "paper wallet".

If I use one of those sites to make a wallet, if those sites get hacked won't my keys be visible. Do you also have to trust the site.

Use armory, a trust-less system.

The website https://www.bitaddress.org/ also works in offline mode, the only remaining problem would be if your PC is already infected with malware.
