Title: [Flag Request] DirectBet.EU closed shop and walked away with bets in play.
Post by: Timelord2067 on July 12, 2017, 02:08:15 PM
No one else seems to have started a thread about DirecBet.EU (https://www.DirecBet.EU/) closing shop and walking away with bets in play http://archive.is/KaESc#selection-429.0-435.14 , so I'll start one here.

Their UID here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=profile;u=207436

*edit* 13th of June 2019

I have created a Flag Request here: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?action=trust;flag=76 - please support it.

I dont see any reports from any users on their thread about their bets that were dropped, so why you are bothering..did they ran away with yours?

Thread: https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393147.10140 ( All clean and no complaints yet and they have processed each and every request of the people )

Irony.  The page you quote has people "asking" for their funds back a full month after their closure.

DirectBet.EU should have done the right thing and settled in May with full refunds instead of walking away with the bets in play instead of waiting for people to ask for their funds back.

Still haven't paid out: https://directbet.eu/BetStatus.cshtml?BetID=1NTuGw5dZh8mLpjCHfoLgm4zDbEWCPnMch

I used to use them, was about to again. perhaps not

Odd the two guys arguing in here appear to be Australian,  I cleaned up on QLD as well (as if we were going to lose to to the blues)
and a betting site in the EU had loads of markets in obscure Australian sports....

So what is another sports bookie that accepts BTC and I don't have to join? if you don't mind ?

I hadn't noticed the other two being #Queenslander 's - if you're in SEQ you might be interested in coming along to this: https://www.meetup.com/bitcoinbrisbane/ on the 31st of July.

As to the bet, I *was* going to top the bet up closer to time, hence the modest initial bet.  When I came back to top up after game two I saw the bookie had closed shop, so, I patiently waited on their promice of paying out all remaining bets.

Still no payout from DirectBet.EU  :-\

I’ve supported your flag OP.

Can you provide the deposit address for this bet? Payout might have gone to another BTC address. That's how they functioned -- you have to enter in a BTC addy for payout. Without a screenshot with that address, this isn't really "proof" that the bet was not paid.

You didn't offer other evidence that they scammed anyone upon their closure in this thread.

Your trust feedback for them just references the web site and the link provided in your comment is their closure notice.

I'm opposing this for now but will change my mind if you can provide more substantiative evidence.

Actually no, my recollection is that the wallet address 1NT... is the payout address to me - *that's* how they operated.

That's right, the 1NT... wallet is the payout wallet address.  IIRC in the Known alts thread we were able to see payouts going into various wallet addresses from directbet and then being able to tie two or more alts together via their combined wallet address payments to another wallet address.

Without a screenshot with that address, this isn't really "proof" that the bet was not paid.

You didn't offer other evidence that they scammed anyone upon their closure in this thread.

Two years after the house burnt down what proof do you want me to pluck from the ashes?

Further back in the thread there's a link to another person being scammed by not receiving a payout.

Actually no, the wallet address 1NT... is the payout address to me - *that's* how they operated.

Actually, no, that wallet address is the BET address. It represents the bet that you made. That's why it serves as the Bet ID -- because each one is unique. Take a look at this as an example:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393147.msg6362655#msg6362655

Or this:

https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=393147.msg6374400#msg6374400

Oh man. This entire time you've been looking at the wrong BTC address.  :D

The only thing fishy is that your archive says "Confirmed" instead of "Paid," but its impossible to know if it was actually paid out or not because you don't have evidence of the payout address...

Further back in the thread there's a link to another person being scammed by not receiving a payout.

Yes and he was demonstrated to have been engaging in double-spending.

What happened:: didn't paid won bet to my wallet 1PUHgUXUXvEX53SxF55YndCZ7kqnKtsx3X

Official Response from DirectBet :

The proceeds from your winning bet was used to cover 3 other losing bets that you placed which we ended up not receiving because they were double spent. You double spent them on purpose after they lost in order not to pay for them.

Furthermore, you sent this bet transfer with low fees on purpose in order to double spend it if it loses.

We posted all the relevant information in your Bet Status page. Here is one of your double spends :

https://blockchain.info/tx/682844bcedd6600ab74ee12b188e5945b13d039818b6b7ee3d960aaa7c71b51b

By placing this bet on our website you agreed to our terms and conditions, which state the following :

Quote
We reserve the right to confiscate wagers when we believe that fraudulent activity is involved, including but not limited to, hacking attempts, double spends and odds manipulation.

By placing a bet at DirectBet you agree that in case of any dispute DirectBet decision is final.

Besides, the accusation is dated May 18th and Directbet didn't close until May 21st, so the issue is irrelevant.

As you are defending directbet, prove that I was paid.

That's impossible because you don't have a record of your payout address.

Not sure why, but I've been having trouble connecting to the archive.today / archive.is website for weeks now.

Does this link yield anything? http://archive.is/W0w9n

Have just recalled the 1NT... wallet address is the deposit address, hence it is used once only.

It's been a while since even I last looked in on this thread.

I'm not sure if they actually did that but DirectBet was one of the most trusted, anonymous, fast sports betting sites that were out there. No KYC policies, no verifications, no stupid account blocking, and a very minimalistic user-interface. Have played there for a very long time and never had a single problem. There are many other sites which need a Flag which continues to operate even today. To list a few, bitcasino.io/vegascasino.io/sportsbet.io etc. I think it's a waste of time to flag a service that doesn't exist anymore.

Yes, it says the bet was "Confirmed" but not "Won" or "Paid," which is odd because it looks like the screenshot was taken in July, well after they closed... While I believe they were in large a trustworthy operation and handled themselves fairly well upon closing, your bet may have fallen through the cracks, so I am rescinding my opposition to this flag.

I think it's a waste of time to flag a service that doesn't exist anymore.

Also this. Their reputation is meaningless, they're not coming back.
