Title: Is this the first non-coinbase transaction?
Post by: charleshoskinson on May 11, 2013, 04:59:24 AM
Any Abes want to help me out?

https://blockchain.info/block/000000000060538bc1f0b08f21a82497908d601c3469b2cfd91fd5069c2e1239

I'm thinking 70522 was the first instance of a non-coinbase transaction. Any before?

A transaction was processed in the block other than the reward for generating it. I'm trying to see when Satoshi first spent money

First Bitcoin transaction, in block 170 (http://www.blockexplorer.com/b/170) - from Satoshi to Hal Finney.
(from https://en.bitcoin.it/wiki/History)

I also recommend reading Hal's story here (https://bitcointalk.org/index.php?topic=155054.0).

I wonder what's the second "real" transaction? Or more general, a list of very early transactions?

That's what I'm trying to figure out. The first few transactions were used for testing purposes. When did commercial transactions begin?

I remember there was a few more before the pizza came in. Hmm...
