AdCoin has the worst possible difficulty retarget - every 2 blocks multiply or divide it by 4. It is the reason why the transaction confirmations are very slow. And such a coin is very vulnerable to 51% attacks.

We are still here :) Coin is not dead, we are still working on it every single day and we are close to finalizing bounty payments (as scheduled, payouts are done between 4th and 14th).

The past few weeks have been very hectic with the bounty program, ICO and taking meetings with the online advertising agencies to work on a proof of concept.

There is only one trading platform? This alone does not seem very trustworthy. If the founders do not bother to trade on civilized exchanges. They do not want to spend money for the listing. We sold some coins that were in escrow for advertising partners during the ICO. The escrow coins will be sold to advertising partners for 0,50 USD/ACC. As mentioned on our website (during the ICO) they were on discount for 50%. So that means that all these coins were sold for 0,25 USD/ACC.

Nothing has really changed since. The only thing that's different is that we now have a buy option on our website that is facilitating direct sales from the Cryptopia Exchange. We are facilitating this option because many people reached out to us asking for buy options with local money transfer systems like iDeal, Paypal or Sofort. As you can see the actual buying price is the same as Cryptopia and fluctuating with it. The actual value of ACC as I'm writing this post is already 0,15 USD/ACC.

Hey just don't dump your coins, it would be very unwise to do so. devs and team are working hard in the background polishing the product instead of worrying about trading. Once advertisers partner up wit acc 0.25 will settle in, possibly 0.50, with $1 definitely not out of the question.

Nethash of adcoin is low but the difficulty is at 7,454 and previous block was 1,863. Why is this so high? This is why it takes shareholders days to receive and transfer their adcoin. You have effectively killed mining with the premine.

After sending a couple of emails the issue was solved. According to adcoin support some orders, including mine, were stuck somewhere.

They are selling on their own site for more than the exchange rates.
Trying to get Dutch crypto noobs to buy them directly from them with mainstream dutch payment options and not giving support what path to take or how to handle.

This is a conscious choice: The focus is to 1) improve the algorithm of Adcoin, and 2) To publish web extensions to make it applicable for our target audiences (advertisers and publishers). Developing branded mobile apps is not a big deal, maintaining and updating is. Since it's not the core business of our project, we decided to make use of Coinomi (it isn't cheap, but we can totally outsource the mobile wallet part in this way).  


This is something you simply can't know: We exactly do have external advisors in our team but they don't want to attach their names publicly on the project (they have other/regular jobs which prevents them from being involved in such a way).


We indeed have 'virgin' crypto buyers. We estimate around 5-15 percent who don't know how blockchain and cryptocurrency work. We give people proper instructions how to proceed the transaction and how to keep track of their value. We put those people in the right directions and in 99% percent of the time they learn and find out on their own. Of course we're not able to give one-on-one trading trainings or crypto classes. Currently we're selling coins from Cryptopia with an integrated API in the website. We are calculating a transaction fee of around between 3 to 10 percent on every transaction to convert EUR to BTC and BTC to USD, the same thing litebit or bitrush are doing. This is the effect of our bounty campaign. Besides the obvious automated posts, the Adcoins where dumped by the bounty participants (around 2500 people). That kind of attitude towards your supporters and investors is unacceptable. Imagine how I feel tweeting my 20k followers showing support for this project, and this is the treatment they receive on the forums "Arrogant replies on complaints or no reply at all". That is inexcusable  and makes me seriously question the future of this coin. But maybe that will change since you're on the forums making an effort. Don't worry about the bounty coins but if it bothers you feel free to get my wallet address from one of those old emails I sent you complaining about never receiving them.


And stop making everything sound like someone else's fault take some responsibility. You say its my fault cause I wasn't on time etc... Hello Awnar! I think you are confusing AdCoin (ACC) with Accelerator Tokens (ACC). AdCoin is not based on Ethereum and therefore cannot be hold in myetherwallet. This also explains why you cannot transfer them to Cryptopia or CoinExchange.

Dark Gravity Wave is an open-source cryptocurrency mining difficulty regulator created by Evan Duffield, one of the lead developers of Dash. It was created for the purpose of defending against time warp exploits, although its benefits reach beyond just that.

Whereas our current difficulty regulator only considers the difficulty during the previous block/time span, Dark Gravity Wave uses moving averages to determine the best change to the mining difficulty. DGW retargets every block to act quickly against large fluctuations in mining power, and it does so in a controlled manner.

What are the benefits?

Regular block times and a more secure blockchain

Security: Dark Gravity Wave protects from the time warp exploit. This allows someone to mine a string of blocks and force his blocks over everyone else’s. Dark Gravity Wave was created with the purpose of preventing this from happening.

Faster Transactions: This is where most Adcoin community members will realize the benefits of Dark Gravity Wave. Sorry for the confusion. We don't aim for the price to skyrocket, rather that the concept of AdCoin skyrockets and for that getting adopted on another exchange is a major step forward. Our vision is that there will be a wide range of niche crypto's which can be used for different types of purchases (e.g. GameCredits for the purchases of games etc). Our initial pilots were not successful and resulted in a big backlog with regards to development and the way AdCoin is processed. SegWit has been enabled since February 3rd



The platform was always meant as a showcase and we have prioritized coindevelopment and operations since it was a major bottleneck. We are currently working on the ad delivery part of it and simultaneously work on integrations in existing platforms like Wordpress.

It has been a long time since we did an ‘official’ blog update. Last time we were extremely busy with our advertising network and other great tools. At the moment we have added value to AdCoin (AdCoin.Click, WooCommerce plugin, Drupal plugin etc.) and we are (very) relevant and needed in the current world. Now it’s time to take the next steps, to be present and fully focused on reaching out to the world. OFFICIAL UPDATE FROM ADCOIN TEAM THAT WAS POSTED IN TELEGRAM GROUP

Dear reader of this message,

Today is a dark page in a project that tons of people have been working on for more than 2,5 years. No motivational quotes or dorky technical update... After 2,5 years the AdCoin company is closing its doors on December 31st. Before you pick up the torches, please take the time to read the story below that got us to this point. Also, this might not be the end... but you will read that further down the line.

The idea for AdCoin came in a time where cryptocurrency was still a niche and the future of Bitcoin was uncertain (March 2017). Sending Bitcoin was extremely expensive and unfit for fast transactions. In the advertising space, we felt that the need for lower conversion rates and transaction costs could significantly influence the results of advertisers and publishers. The additional transparency that blockchain would add would be a big plus too.

Ever since the blockchain and company were created the AdCoin team (which has always consisted of enthusiasts who mostly worked as volunteers) has been struggling with setbacks. This ranged from technical issues to getting death threats on our home addresses... AdCoin has always focused on building use-cases. Hedging the technological (open source) advancements into usable products. The institutions have, to say it lightly, not been very supportive. Our bank accounts got closed multiple times and any effort to improve the adoption of cryptocurrency as a regulated way of payment got shot down with a two-page rejection letter.

After the parabolic pump and dump of Bitcoin and Altcoins (early 2018), the companies that agreed to partner up and develop on top of the AdCoin blockchain pulled back from their commitments. The stigma on cryptocurrencies was too much to handle for the big mainstream companies. AdCoin decided to build the products itself: multiple payment gateways, advertising platforms, and CMS plugins were released.

At the end of 2018 things started to turn bad. The funding of AdCoin (business) development became a big struggle. The response of sales efforts on advertising using cryptocurrency became close to non-existent. Despite capital injections from the owners, there was not enough money left to pay the salaries of the employees and we had to let everyone go at the beginning of 2019. Costs were cut down to the bare minimum. Everyone who remained involved has done so out of commitment and faith in the project.

Since the summer of 2019, all efforts were put into finding a partnership or takeover to spark a new light into the development and tooling of AdCoin. Unfortunately, we didn't find anyone with the means or commitment to take over the entire operation. We never stopped looking, but unfortunately, new European regulation (specifically rolled out in the Netherlands) to prevent money laundering requires an insane amount of money, just for the supervision of the Dutch National Bank (estimated € 100.000 to € 200.000). After not being able to get bank accounts and being ignored by all official government institutions for 2 years you might understand how we feel with this "great step forward". Similarly to other projects in the Netherlands like Simplecoin and Chopcoin, this is our final setback and forces us to close down the doors...

As per December 31 2019, the web wallet will be taken offline. You HAVE to either send your AdCoin to Coinomi or the Desktop Wallets (go to getadcoin.com).

Is this the end of AdCoin? Simply said: no. First of all, as long as the blockchain remains, AdCoin will remain. The development and community of AdCoin are not affected by any regulation as they can both be considered "decentralized" and therefore not subject to any specific country regulation. There are already some people who volunteered to continue AdCoin in a different way and according to their views and thoughts. On December 31 the project will be officially 'handed down' to the community.
