A historic event, the signing of the political declaration on the creation of a new state, which will become the legal successor of “Ukraine”, took place today, on July 18th, in the capital of the Donetsk People’s Republic.
The new state formation will consist of 19 regions of the former Ukraine and will be called Malorossia with the center of the new state in Donetsk.
Kiev remains a historical and cultural center without the capital city status.
A correspondent of the official website of the DPR reported this from the scene.
“All of us have gathered here together to talk about the future.
We propose a plan for the reintegration of the country through the law and Constitution.
We must build a new country in which the concepts of conscience and honor are not forgotten.
We offer Ukrainian citizens a peaceful way out of the difficult situation, without the war.
This is our last offer not only to the Ukrainians, but also to all countries that supported the civil war in Donbass.
I am convinced that we will do everything possible and impossible,” Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko addressed the audience.
The event was visited by Head of the DPR Alexander Zakharchenko, adviser to the Head Zakhar Prilepin, Deputy Chairman of the Council of Ministers, Minister of Revenues and Duties of the Republic Alexander Timofeev, as well as representatives of most regions that formerly were part of Ukraine.
All present delegates unanimously voted in an open ballot for signing the political declaration on the creation of Malorossia with the center in Donetsk.
“Malorossia is a federal state with broad powers of autonomy of the regions.
The right of regional languages is guaranteed to be retained, the flag of Bogdan Khmelnitsky is recognized as the national flag,” Alexander Timofeev cited the constitutional act.

So the DNR and LNR has decided to merge, to form an united republic? That's good. Bigger states offer more security against the Ukrainian aggression. I hope that soon the other Russian speaking oblasts, such as Kharkov, Dnipropetrovsk, Odessa, Kherson, Zaporizhia, and Nikolaev will break away from the Kiev rule and merge with Malorussia.

So, it's not recognition of independent country. They only allowed to use personal documents, issued by DNR and LNR, and as described in link, it's only temporary.

I don't think that this republic will survive in the long-term future. There are two chances. Either they will be invaded and forcibly re-integrated in to Ukraine. Else, they will voluntarily merge with Russia.

But I think that any of these scenarios isn't likely to happen in near future. Situation in estern Ukraine is badly stable and there are no signs that conflict can end soon.

Yes there are two options, but first is highly unlikable. Ukrainian army is not strong enough to defeat them. If somehow they are stronger Russia will just send help to DNR like they did it before and there will be status quo again.

Ukrainian army is not strong enough to defeat them, but if NATO sends reinforcements, then they may be able to over-run the rebels. But first, the Kiev regime needs to deal with the Russian support. As long as Russia supports the rebels, there is hardly any chance of the NATO sending in reinforcements. The conflict will remain frozen for many decades to come.

Calling the victims of Ethnic cleansing as rebels is the wrong mode to describe the situation.

This is a very complex political issue. No matter how they talk about human rights in this or that Republic, there are still very different goals pursued there. Just do not understand why Russia is small? Does someone offend her.

They are victims of ethnic cleansing, but at the same time, how many of the United Nations members recognize the existence of these republics? If I am not wrong, even Russia doesn't recognizes them. So it is right to call them as rebels.

Another idiot... this legality virus is spreading. Answer: by weapons and the will and readyness to kill those who oppose this move. This is legality. The rest is roman decadant talk, asking the barbarians hordes where are their looting authorisation. When will formated brainwashed people like you understand?

Look at the legality of the jewish extermination program by the nazi... flawless.

As long as Russia supports the rebels

Calling the victims of Ethnic cleansing as rebels is the wrong mode to describe the situation.

Thank you! Old and new ukraine are so corrupt... it's beyond. Saw a ukrainian medic explaining the chain of bribes... unbelievable. You have to pay the nurse, the doctor, the drugs, the doc and the nurse have to pay the head doctor who has to pay higher... it makes look obamacare a success...

Independance, right to self determination... 100% american values...
As long as Russia supports the rebels

Calling the victims of Ethnic cleansing as rebels is the wrong mode to describe the situation.

Call them as you want, it doesn't change a thing. Progress are being made.

Actually the only legitimate successor to the short living country of Ukraine 1991-2017

Let's not go too far, an attempt a civilisation... they have more chance to fall back to corruption independantly pf war or not. But at least they have gained themselves an opportunity.

I agree very good. I hope they will legalize all plants in their new republic. The real ennemies are to be found among the sunnis arabs, the pedo/rapist/looters democrats, and the ennemy of caucasian people and the globalists clan... they want to destroy the us constitution, the russian and chinese one too...

Time for a chinese embassy in the capital to settle this...

My advice to new state: share some activities with china inc. i am sure there is some win win to make...

Problem is endemic corruption... and tchernobyl.

All those country have immense work to do to fight corruption, the problem is that once the corrupt take power, the best option is to show the barbarians the directions of their palaces... as their crimes inside and ourside will only grow bigger, they will sooner or later wake the wrong barbarians...

Corruption g'can be very profitable for the few getting the feasts, but sooner or later is goes out of control...

Once upon a time there was a corrupt war lord in china... he did bad deeds. One he hurted moved to another kingdom, and convince the king to attack the corrupt warlord and take the land...

Why do you think this corruption war is going in china? Because there is nonother option. 1 china is densly populated 2 there is giant latent eternal military potential. 3. The white wearing western coming....

Ciclycally, prosperity, leniency, corruption start, wealth is concentrated, implosion.

Corruption is tainting the path of the tao. It's a crime against once self and the others which result in death of the guilty for the return of harmony and stability.

Chinese instability is not something that anyone want to experience... when the dragon has to clean his home according to the tao...  the dragon is the most transitory being.

Yup.... Whatever the negatives are there in Donbass, the fact remains that the rest of Ukraine fares even worse. The Ukrainian Hryvnia is now one of the weakest currencies in the world. During the past 3 years, it's value has fallen by almost 300% against the United States Dollar. And the inflation rate in Ukraine remains at close to 40% per year.

Ukraine is an uneasy alliance of the Russian-speaking Eastern Ukraine and the Polish-influenced western Ukraine. The culture, language, religion.etc is different in these two parts. Sooner or later, the nation is going to breakup in to two different entities. Look at what happened to the former Yugoslavia. The same will happen with Ukraine as well.

It is very unlikely that a pro-Russian government will rule Ukraine ever again. The most pro-Russian provinces have broken away from the Kiev-rule. Crimea is a part of Russia now, while Donetsk and Lugansk are independent republics. Without the votes from these regions, a pro-Russian party can never come to power in Kiev.

That will not happen. If I am not mistaken, the European Union has already granted visa-free access to the Ukrainians. Very soon, only the elderly will be living in what is left of Ukraine.

What sort of autonomy they had under the Tatar and Ottoman rule? Because before the Russian empire conquered these areas, the ethnic Ukrainian people there were living as slaves of the Ottomans and the Tatars. Only the Russian conquest put an end to their misery and made them free once again. Without the Russians, most of the Ukrainians would be serving in the Janissary corps and in the Ottoman harems.
